Every time we are in Orlando we always make time to get the Bread Service from Sanaa. Today we also got the seasonal salad and samosas. After the bread service, I'm usually stuffed but the light salad was a nice light addition to our meal. The salad is very lightly dressed but we added a little leftover sauces from the bread service to brighten it up nicely. The samosas are large and filled with vegetables and beans. They also have mango chutney and a tamarind sauce on the plate. They are quite filling. This restaurant is located at Animal Kingdom Lodge so of course the atmosphere is very detailed right down to the restrooms. After our meal we usually enjoy walking out onto one of the balconies to see some of the animals that roam the property . Today we saw wildebeest, giraffes and another animal I can't remember the name of but it's always fun to look and a unique activity you don't need a park ticket to enjoy. read more

We made the reservations thru Disney agency , and this restaurant was highly recommended . Our server Austin was very thorough but their computer reservation system did not have our reservation that we changed today from 5.45 pm to 8.24 pm due to late check in . Took 3 person to look puzzled and then when we get tired we ask if they going to seat us as our kids are hungry . They sat us at the bar that has a 8 seater . The 5 of us was relieved to be seated as we have a long day of traveling to Disney world with 2 babies . Kevin our waiter took our appetizer orders and we were happily drinking our wine and test tasting the appetizer when an employee came to ask if we mind sharing our 8 seater table with another family. We politely declined as our kids will have difficulty eating with strangers . Then came the manager Damon, and tell us that we have to give up the other side of the table as this is a common area table . Who cares what table you have , w make reservations for window seats a month or two ago and now we are seated at the bar with a 5 year old and a very hungry and irritable 2 year old and they keep bothering us to give up half the table . So he thinks that being the manager asking we would give in & share our table with strangers ? There are at least 1/2 the dining tables that has been vacated due to the lateness of the dining time . Son in law and I don't like his manner nor tone and couldn't believe Disneyland, a place where dream come true . Couldn't accommodate us with a peaceful dinner time with our 2 little birthday girls . We finally gave in because they are making a scene and I am pass being hungry . This manager has no management nor customer skills , why can't you open other tables for new customers instead of moving us and bothering us like we are being punished for their system loosing our reservations ! Our app still have the reservation but their restaurant doesn't have our name not information. But that manager Damon, took the Worst service person on my books , being traveler for years and tasting cuisines around the world , never had I enjoy the food but has a bad taste of customer service spoils my enjoyment . Located in Disney Springs, Sanaa was a solid dinner option for folks looking for South Asian style food with decent authenticity. We came based on raving reviews online and while the experience was solid, I feel like my expectations weren't met given the portion size and price. We came with a reservation on a Saturday evening and missed seeing the animals, but were seated near the window which was nice nonetheless. Service was solid and attentive while also being good at pacing the food so it didn't come too quickly or slowly. We got the bread service to share and some samosas, all of which were solid. I will say that it's pricy just for naan and some sauce, but the experience was good. Samosas were also fine. The curries that came out were pretty tiny in my opinion, definitely not filling. While tasty, it wasn't enough, especially given the price. I did like my chicken dish overall though. I don't know if I would come back, but we did have a decent experience. I would opt to perhaps try other restaurants before coming back, but this wasn't a bad meal, just a little lackluster and missed the mark for me. read more

Amazing lunch! Kids loved seeing all the animals, easy to park in the garage, no charge. As long as you have a reservation you enter the resort no issues. We Loved sharing the bread service though we didn't really know what we were eating, well kind of; somebody else dumped it off on the table with some quick cursory description. We also didn't see any gazelles, zebras, giraffes, kudu, ostriches, or cranes either; but we didn't really expect to either. They're around and about if you look for them. It's not a zoo! lol Overall, was fun for what it was. Hadn't been to the resort in years so it was kind of cool milling around. And likely a one off situation here, but the garage was under construction when we visited and there was a lack of construction signage so we ended up parking in a closed area and getting scolded when we tried to use the elevator and were later blocked in and needing an escort out. lol How does that even happen? This has been a favorite of our family since it first opened in Kidani Village. The setting doesn't get much better with the theming and being open on one side with windows showing the animals outside. Make sure to ask for a table by the window if possible. The servers are always very helpful and have that Disney level of service. I always recommend asking their recommendations for menu items as sometimes they will let you know of options that are not listed. The food is what always makes us come back here. I think it is virtually impossible to visit this restaurant and not get the bread service. In our last visit, we actually saw a family of three that in my opinion, did it right by ordering two bread services and a couple appetizers. The burger for lunch is a little different but very good and their seasonal salads are always fresh and delicious. read more

I politely asked if it was possible to get a table near the window so my baby could see the animals. They were nice and helped me out, especially a lady at the front desk. The place is super cool with windows that allow you see the animals. We saw zebras, giraffes, and different types of birds. Fun! Foosd was a bit pricey but everything was tasty. Been wanting to try Sanaa for a long time, as we love all the other restaurants at this resort and go to them all regularly. Our favorite Disney restaurants are Boma and Jiko. We were excited to try it for lunch one day recently and were very happy with the entire experience. We were greeted with animals outside the window and were distracted by them for quite a while. Outstanding lunch at Sanaa. I went with my husband on our anniversary. We had a reservation and arrived about 30 minutes early. We parked in the self parking lot which was free but they also have valet parking. We checked in with the hostess as soon as we arrived and requested window table seating. We were told there's no guarantee but they would try. To our luck, we got the perfect table with a great view. We ordered the bread service and the lamb kofta. Everything was so delicious and my husband loves spice so we also requested the spicy sauce that comes with bread service if you ask for it. Our waitress, Morgan, was amazing. So kind and friendly. She brought out a small complimentary dessert for our anniversary which was delicious and such a lovely way to end an amazing meal. We had such a memorable evening at Sanaa at the animal kingdom lodge. We arrived a bit early and used valet parking, which made everything super easy. Since our table wasn't ready, we spent about 20 minutes outside taking in the view. It ended up being one of the best parts of the night. Watching the zebras and giraffes roaming around at sunset felt surreal! Once we got seated, we started with cocktails. I had the bees knees, which was light, refreshing, and a great way to kick things off. Of course, we had to try the famous naan flight, and it absolutely lived up to the hype. The breads included traditional naan, garlic naan, spiced naan, onion kulcha, and paneer paratha. The accompaniments were just as impressive. It comes with mango chutney, roasted red pepper hummus, coriander chutney, tamarind chutney, tomato date jam, cucumber raita, and a jalapeño lime pickle. It was fun mixing and matching flavors! For my entrée, I ordered the butter chicken with rice and lentils, and it was exactly what I was hoping for rich, comforting, and very flavorful. As expected with Disney dining, it wasn't spicy at all but still really satisfying. We finished with the giraffe dessert, a peanut, banana, and chocolate creation that was almost too beautiful to eat. The presentation was incredibly artistic, and it tasted just as good as it looked. Since we could not get a reservation, we opted for the mobile ordering. I had ordered the bread service and lamb meatballs (both appetizers), and they were ready fairly quickly. The bread service was ample for 3 people to share. It came with a variety of dips and breads. I cannot wait to come back to dine inside the restaurant next time. read more

Sanaa, in my opinion, is probably one of the best restaurants on Disney property. We went this past weekend for my birthday, and had a great time. Their staff is very friendly and attentive, from the moment you are greeted at the check-in counter, to meeting your server and enjoying your meal. Their bread service is the star of the show. You get 5 different types of flat breads with 9 dipping sauces that range from mildest to spiciest. ALL of the breads and sauces are amazing, and it's a lot of fun to mix and match different flavors. The rest of their appetizers are also delicious and presented beautifully. Honestly, whenever we go back I plan on just enjoying the bread service with a few apps and cocktails because it is definitely more than enough food. I barely was able to get through my entree with how full I was. lol. Their cocktails are also pretty potent and pair great with the bold flavors the food offers. Sanaa at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge is hands down one of my favorite places to eat on Disney property, especially around the holidays. The lodge itself is beautifully decorated, which already sets the mood, but what truly makes Sanaa special is the view. It's the only restaurant at the lodge where you can dine while looking out at the savanna, and if you're lucky enough to get a window seat, you'll be right next to one of the habitats. Now, let's talk about the food. GET. THE. BREAD. SERVICE. I cannot stress this enough. It is the number one must-order item here. The variety of breads and dips is incredible. I personally love the tomato jam, the tamarind and the mango chutney. I highly recommend tasting each spread on its own first, then mixing and matching flavors to find your favorite combinations. It's fun, interactive, and absolutely delicious. For dessert, I tried the giraffe cake. While mine wasn't quite as picture-perfect as some of the others I've seen, it was still very tasty. The banana flavor is pretty mild, so don't expect it to overpower the dessert. Definitely make sure to try it with the peanut brittle, it completely changes the flavor profile and adds a really nice texture. Between the atmosphere, the views, and unforgettable dishes, Sanaa is a must. It's a place I'd recommend not just for the food, but for the experience as a whole. read more

Tried out the Sanaa quick service breakfast. The ambiance is amazing since you can sit right by the windows and watch the animals outside.It definitely left a lot to be desired. The ordering was easy through mobile ordering and there were plenty of places to sit. Where it went wrong was the food itself. The avocado toast was very soggy. The short rib hash was pretty good, but it was sort of strange that there was no egg or anything on it. The banana bread French toast, to me, just tasted like a slice of banana bread. My wife and I dined here last night and had an amazing meal. We had been a few times before but this was our first visit in several years. The food and service were fantastic and the atmosphere was great especially with the views of the savanna. Getting to view giraffes, eland, zebras, wildebeest, and crowned cranes while dining is a treat. One disappointing change from a previous visit was the bread service no longer has a smaller size option and the full order is too much for the two of us-unless that is dinner. So we ended up skipping it. However the samosas were delicious and perfectly prepared. For dinner I got the pork vindaloo with the chickpea wat and the flavors were complex and delicious. My wife had the seafood stew with the lentil dal and those were also excellent. For desert we shared the Ankole cake which was a lightly spiced cake and is vegan. Our server Rebekah was very friendly and attentive. The pace of the meal was perfect and although the restaurant was busy we did not feel rushed. Because the restaurant is tucked away in Kidani village part of Animal Kingdom Lodge, it does not get as much attention from folks not staying at AKL but it is worth the effort to visit. read more

I'm rating this purely on the bread service at the bar. My daughter and I sat at the bar to sit for a snack. We tried every single dip loved most of them. Honestly, this is one of the best deals in all of Disney. It's a ton of food and so different from what you get anywhere else on property. My one gripe would be the naan itself was just ok. If you are planning a trip to Walt Disney World, trust me when I say you need to make a reservation at Sanaa. While they might be able to accommodate a walk-up, it is best to make a reservation and not risk missing out on this culinary adventure. This exciting establishment is located on the lower level of the Kidani Village section of Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge with stunning views of the Sunset Savanna. Please note that you do not have to stay at the Animal Kingdom Lodge to eat at Sanaa. As for the staff, they are incredibly accommodating, knowledgeable, and friendly. From the moment the host takes you to your table, you will be enthralled by the immersive East African style decor. The menu is bursting with a range of incredible African-India fusion flavor offerings. The waitstaff are highly knowledgeable on what should be recommended, but I advise ordering from the menu's Potjie-Inspired section. This will give you the chance to try an assortment of delicious eclectic cuisine. And, if others in your party order different things from the Potjie-Inspired menu, you can share and try various things. From the Potjie-Inspired menu, my wife ordered the Butter Chicken with Lentil Daal and Scented Basmati Rice, and I ordered the Lamb Vindaloo with Chickpea Wat and Scented Basmati Rice. We loved all of it, but my wife will tell you that her favorite item was my Chickpea Wat. It was mind blowingly delicious and pleasantly spicy. We added Garlic-Ginger Naan with Garlic Pickle and Red Chile Sambal to our meal per our waitress's suggestion. As a pepperhead, I was in awe of the tasty Red Chile Sambal. The prices were reasonable too for a nicer Disney resort restaurant. With all of this in mind, make sure your next plans to Disney World include a visit to Sanaa. read more

I heard rave reviews from colleagues about this restaurant and wanted to try it. My friend and I had never gone before so we booked a reservation. It is in the DVC building of Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge - the Kidani Village. If you have a reservation for dining, let the guard know so you can park for free during your meal. We got to the restaurant early and checked in. They had a table ready within a minute or two and we were seated. Staff were all knowledgeable and friendly - our waitress was great at suggesting the best dishes to complement what our mains were or what flavors we wanted. I went with the Potjie Inspired with butter chicken and the Chickpea Wat. Food came out quickly and it was delicious. Flavors balanced out nicely and there was plenty of food for the meal. My friend and I shared a pot of tea to enjoy with the Wilde-best Wildebeest dessert. Wonderful experience overall. I had eaten at the Animal Kingdom Lodge's other two restaurants on my last visit, so this time, I needed to finish the list by going to Sanaa. Getting a table was no issue and it was ready at exactly our reservation time. Sanaa is located very close to an observation deck where you can go outside and look at the animals roaming around the lodge. The last two times I was at the Animal Kingdom Lodge, it was too late and too dark to see any animals. This time, I was able to see multiple giraffes, zebras, gazelles, and birds. We had a lovely middle dining room table, which had excellent lighting for my food pics! To start, we opted for the Indian-style Bread Service. This comes with Five Breads and Nine Accompaniments. The five breads are: Traditional Naan, Garlic-Ginger Naan, Spiced Naan, Onion Kulcha, and Paneer Paratha. The 9 accompaniments are Cucumber Raita, Roasted Red Pepper Hummus, Mango Chutney, Tomato-Date Jam, Tamarind Chutney, Coriander Chutney, Garlic Pickle, Red Chile Sambal, and Spicy Jalapeño-Lime Pickle. My favorite was the onion kulcha and the garlic naan. The tomato-date jam and tamarind chutney were my favorites along with the mango chutney. The red chile sambal and the spicy jalapeño-lime pickle was a tad too spicy for me. For mains, I had the Spice Trail Pork Tenderloin with Sumac-crusted Grilled Pork Tenderloin, Pomegranate-Red Wine Reduction, Goat Cheese-Potato Purée, Pumpkin Suya, Carrots, and Charred Leeks. My husband had the Mbavu ya Chuma with Berbere-rubbed Flat Iron Steak, Roasted Sweet Potato and Coconut Purée, Chakalaka-cured Cabbage, and Coffee-Cocoa Jus. My husband's steak was cooked perfectly and was super juicy. My pork tenderloin was a little bit dry, but was still very tender. I really liked the goat cheese potato purée along with the charred leeks. To drink, I had the African Mai Tai with STARR African Rum, Bols Amaretto Liqueur, Pineapple Juice, and House-made Tamarind Simple Syrup. This was very tasty! I loved their take on a Mai Tai, which is one of my favorite drinks ever. We also had their Ankole Cake, with Spiced Chocolate Cake, Baobub curd, Coconut gel, Meringue "Horns", STARR African rum-macerated citrus. This was very good and super pretty. Service was solid, no extra notes. I think we both liked Boma the best out of all the Animal Kingdom Lodge restaurants, but this was a solid addition to my Disney World Resort restaurant collection. read more

Coolest dining experience ever! I made a reservation online before my trip at 5:25 pm so that my party could be there before sunset. If you arrive early you can walk around the viewing areas while you wait for your table. We got great views of zebras and antelope. They do have a separate allergen menu. We also made sure to express we wanted a table by the windows by the view so if that's important to you, you can tell the host. We started with their famous bread service. It is to die for!! The 9 sauces are all delicious! There's something for everyone from sweet to spicy and the breads were all soo soft and fluffy. It's a great introduction for someone new to Indian food. For my entree, I ordered the grilled New York steak. It was cooked to perfection and the sides were so tasty! I have zero complaints. Had to wait an extra 45 minutes past out reservation so friends and I just waited at the bar and almost order the same items. We got the naan and the spread which is the typical appetizer. Got the African mule and vegetarian curry. Tasty but a bit slow to get the foods. The atmosphere and noise level were perfect-- we had our children with us (yay no babysitter) but still wanted something that felt special. This place with its low lighting and interesting decor was perfect. The menu is slightly limited, but what is there is delicious. We got the butter chicken potjie with red beans, the braised beef potjie with lentils, and the bread service. The bread service is not to be missed. It's $22 but is shareable for the table and comes with 3-4 different naan and 9 different sauces. It was an effort not to devour it all and fill up before our entrees. Potjie just means little pots of slooooow roasted foods. My husband and I traded bites back and forth and could not get enough. For dessert, our sweet waitress Martina brought us an adorable, light bite. A scoop of mango sorbet on a bed of graham cracker crumbs-- meant to look like an ostrich egg. It was so light and delicious after that filling meal. It was a perfect finishing touch. Echoing others notes, definitely make a reservation! They're not required, but depending on the day you might find yourself with a long wait.
