We had seen the TV advertisements and my significant other asked me to call for an appointment. The…read moreyoung woman I spoke with was friendly and professional. We scheduled the appointment for Jan 20,2021. The appointment went well, the procedure was fully explained and my SO elected to have the viscous procedure (viscous fluid injected into his knee joint). The consultant said that it would take 7-10 days to get approval from Medicare and my SO's supplemental insurance company. We were told we would be notified of approval. We stressed the desire to get the procedure as quickly as possible due to the amount of pain my SO is suffering. We had not heard anything by the 3rd of February so I called. I got the call center. The young lady said she would send an email requesting that someone call me. No one called so I called again on the 5th of February. Same thing, she sent an email, and still no one called. I called again on the 8th of February. I told the young man, again, at the call center, that I was becoming concerned about the quality of care my SO will receive if no one could even return a phone call. I told him that if they were having problems with getting the approval, maybe we could help and to please get someone to return my call. He sent an email. No one called. By this time my SO was angry. He called on February 9th. On February 10th, someone called me at work but I was with a patient and could not take the call. I returned the call within 3 minutes, no one answered. I left a message. Today is the 11th and no call. In the mean time we made an appointment with Beacon Orthopedics. They do the same procedure. In 3 days, we got an appointment and consultation, had approval and an MRI scheduled to rule out meniscus tear. The entire process has taken only three days. If there is no tear, Beacon will proceed with the viscous injection procedure next week. I do not recommend Arthritis Knee Pain Center.

The question begs to be asked of Yelp.... why aren't unfavorable reviews factored into an overall…read morerating? By not including any less than complimentary comments a clear picture is not being presented. My mother (and my father until his passing) lived in the Seasons community for 11 years - 9 years at Seasons and 2 years at Courtyard. The years in independent living was tolerable - Courtyard, not so much. The lack of staffing, particularly at night, was very concerning. When you have one nurse on duty and a scattering of aides handling 3 floors of elderly residents, this is makes for a less than ideal assisted living arrangement. Care conferences were never held, repairs requested for her apartment (broken tile in bathroom - possible trip hazard), thorough apartment cleaning as stipulated in lease agreement each took over a year to achieve. Other than an ideal location there is nothing ideal about Courtyard. My mother at age 96 passed away recently and no one in the management of Senior Lifestyle had the humanity to even utter condolences to our family. Concerns regarding the facility were also voiced to the President of Senior Lifestyle in their Chicago headquarters and has also been completely ignored. Would NOT recommend this facility to any family looking for an assisted living facility.
