Combo covered bar area and lots of picnic tables spread out in a large sand pit. Great for little kids to play in with buckets shovels, cornhole, etc. Very casual so come as you are after boating with no worries. We just ordered beers and some food, Cheeseburgers and fries, fried pickles. Food was average at best but we left happy and full as we weren't going with expectations of a standout meal, just something basic after a half day on the lake. Service was friendly. Some people sitting at the bar, possibly local adults, were giving the stink eye to groups showing up with younger kids in tow but nothing was done or said to anyone so, fine, stink eye all you want.

It's location right by the lake! Cornhole available to play and a fantastic selection of bet. Vegan? They got you covered! There's a portobello mushroom burger or black bean burger. The sidewinder fries were so yummy:) A friend ordered the side of broccoli slaw.. not gonna lie- it was refreshing and delicious. One of our party's order got messed up after we already paid (they ran out of an item) and our incredibly sweet server took care of us ! Fantastic customer service which I feel like is sometimes hard to come by nowadays. Daily specials available and plenty of parking. It's also dog friendly;)

Nice employees, live music, open feel with beach sand and a view of the lake across the highway. We tried a pizza which turned out to be frozen 10" and was $16. No prices on their beer board. No server - you have to order yourself at the bar. And when you close your tab, your tip options are 25%, 35% and 50%. Since we essentially servers ourselves and even cleaned up our table (threw away all of our trash) we attempted a ' custom' tip of 15%.

    Loads of fun!

Love this bar!! People are friendly. Food is great! It's laid back and comfortable! It feels like you're on a beach looking out with the sand there and Lake Chatuge

Enjoyed the awesome Barnyard burger as part of Chatuge Burger Week. Burger features bacon, fried egg, grilled onions, lettuce, tomatoe, and cheddar cheese. I topped mine with mustard and a touch of ketchup. The fries were thick chip style crispy delights. Our first time here, but we will be back.

I ordered lemon pepper and teriyaki wings!! So delicious! Great service and great souvenirs shop. being beside Lake Chatuge is the best

Definitely a bar with bar food. Not a family restaurant. If you're here for the party it's a good place to go.

Is there a dock associated that we could park and walk up from? Thanks!

So this bar is across the main road from the lake. There is a Marina there. Not sure how that works to dock and walk over.

If you're looking for great Southern comfort food with a million-dollar mountain and lake view,…read moreHawg Wild BBQ & Catfish House in Hiawassee is hard to beat. We stopped in on 1/2 Price Tuesday Catfish Special, and it has to be one of the best dining values anywhere in North Georgia. For just $9.99, each lunch included two perfectly fried catfish fillets and two sides--an incredible deal for the quality and generous portions. The catfish was outstanding. The fillets were light, flaky, and fresh with a perfectly seasoned, crispy coating that wasn't greasy at all. Every bite was delicious. The homemade tartar sauce complemented the fish perfectly. The sides were every bit as impressive. The collard greens had that slow-cooked Southern flavor, the BBQ baked beans were rich and smoky with just the right touch of sweetness, and the Carolina slaw was crisp, refreshing, and balanced the meal nicely. The Texas toast rounded everything out. Our server, Charity, was friendly, attentive, and made us feel genuinely welcome without ever hovering. The restaurant itself has one of the prettiest settings you'll find. Sitting above the lake with panoramic mountain views, it's worth the stop for the scenery alone. Whether you're inside looking out the large windows or enjoying the view from the parking area, it's a beautiful place to relax over lunch. With two lunches, drinks, tax, and a generous tip, our total was only about $34. That's exceptional value these days. If you happen to be in Hiawassee on a Tuesday, don't miss the 1/2 Price Catfish Lunch Special. Between the outstanding catfish, delicious Southern sides, friendly service, unbeatable price, and spectacular views, Hawg Wild BBQ & Catfish House has earned a place on our list of favorite North Georgia restaurants. We'll definitely be back.

All the meats -- and definitely all the sauces -- were simply mediocre... dare I say even a little bland. Even the appetizers (fried pickles and fried green tomatoes) were bland. Another gripe: noticed when we sat down that their seats have fabric over cushions... in a BBQ restaurant... =stained jeans. Didn't think much about it when sitting down, I brush off every seat before sitting, but when I got home there were three distinct grease stains on the back thigh of my fairly new jeans -- look like they probably came from one spot on the chair.

Our hostel host pointed us here, and the second we stepped in, we were greeted by Jaguars jerseys on the wall, Mark Brunell and Jimmy Smith. Then we got seated, and right above our table was Fred Taylor's Florida Gators jersey along with a picture of the Swamp. All three of us at the table were Jacksonville guys, so between the Jags gear and the Gators tie-in, it felt like home before we'd even ordered. We all got the wings, and they were excellent. This place oven roasts them first, then fries to crisp up the skin, no breading involved, and that combination does something special to the flavor. Best wings I've had in a while. One of my buddies also ordered a margarita and said it was excellent. Service was great throughout, and the price landed right in that sweet spot, not cheap, but not expensive for what we got either. Fair value across the board. If you're ever in Franklin and want a spot that feels like home even when you're hundreds of miles from it, this is the place.

The last time we went our tab for the two of us was around $70. This time the bill was over $100, for two people, and the quality of the prime was low to say the least. So they raised their prices since last month, and the meat was gristly, and more fat than just marbling in the meat. I feel taken advantage of.
