We went here during a day trip to Helen, we didn't expect much as so many restaurants in Helen seem to be the same ol' thing but location was nice and it wasn't super crowded. We started with the Pretzel Bites which were essentially deep fried pieces of pretzels. Not sure who thought to say this was Bavarian style. I'm not entirely sure they were deep fried but they had a very thick batter and tasted similar to say an onion ring batter. Very crunchy even through. We're pescatarian anyway so food is always limited in tourist towns (but far easier to find options in Germany than in Helen). I decided to go with the veggie burger which was a black bean patty from Morningstar. Honestly I like them and we asked before anyway so this was fine with me. The bread was good and the fries were fresh and hot. My wife got the fish platter I think it was called and it was pretty bad. She could eat the fries but not all of the fish. It was heavily deep fried and you could flick it putting a dent in the batter. My son got the fried shrimp which he ate a couple of but then said he was done. My wife tried his and said it was better than the fish platter so had a couple. We went with two friends who shared chicken tenders. They weren't impressed, to me they looked like chicken schnitzel it was so thin. I'm not going to judge quality on chicken though so it may be good? Location and service was the main thing going for it. Our waitress was very nice and attentive, we sat outside and we could watch people float by tubing so people watching was good. The atmosphere at this time during lunch was pretty quiet and chill. I could see it getting packed in the evenings especially for those going out for drinks. What a disappointing pick for my last night in town. Looking for a spot that was open during a weekday and allowed pets, I picked Alpine Brew Deck as there weren't many options available on a Tuesday. I am glad they allow pets, and was thankful for a spot for my pup and I to eat. That was about all that was good about Alpine. I had to ask the server for a dog water bowl. They did have one available but unlike other restaurants nearby I had to ask. I ordered the cod and chips. The food came out hot at least, but was barely edible. I took one bite of the coleslaw and it tasted off. The fries were a weird doughy consistency inside and yet crunchy and brown on the outside. The fish was the only thing I ate and that is because I was hungry. It looked like it was pulled frozen out of a box and heated up. I was here as a tourist during Oktoberfest and I'd stay it is exactly a 3-star spot. Everything was "OK", but not much really stood out. They have a few TVs to watch sports but nobody really seemed to know what was on or how to change the channel. There was live music. And it was "OK". The service was "OK". The food was "OK". Again, everything was OK. I think what I liked the most was the deck aspect. It is smack in the middle of downtown and right on the river. I would have liked to have seen a few more beers on tap. "Oh, I try to stay as far away from karaoke as humanly possible!" Jeremy Jordan Me and you both. I will admit it's mostly because I can't sing, but also because I'm not the only one. But when you're in Helen and bar hopping, you can't help but go in to check it out, and that's exactly what we did. I can't speak for the food, as we were only there for the beer and music, but overall it's a great spot to hang out in this little tourist town. Bartenders were great and the beer was cold. I'll start off by saying this restaurant had a great view and plenty of outdoor seating. The service was okay. The waitress came promptly to our table to take our orders. After receiving our orders she only came back once to check-in, which was fine since we didn't need anything. Now to the food....the food was very bland. The table doesn't have any condiments on it nor does it have salt and pepper. So if you want to add anything you have to ask. My fries came out hot and tasted fine, however the shrimp lacked flavor and had a breading on it that I did not prefer. My parents stated that their flounder was a small portion and lacked flavor as well. We all ended up having leftovers because we didn't enjoy the taste. Cute place, great location off the river. Had brats and chips. The brat was big, juicy and very tasty. Sitting on the deck you overlook the river and see the tubers coming down the river. Temperature clearly has been frozen or chicken tenders were essentially chicken figments of imagination lightly breaded, and fried at some industrial facility then brought here frozen and subsequently microwaved my sister-in-law and her fiancé's meal of boneless chicken wings were also clearly from the freezer. Still waiting on my food as the kitchen can't keep up with our group size (15) ... not sure how they would handle a rush during Oktoberfests or the summer. Huge plus, dog friendly deck! We stopped here for a drink and an appetizer. Servers seemed bothered that we had arrived. Would not order the pretzel bites again. Hours say they are open til 9, but they closed at 8 and didn't tell us even though we had been sipping our drinks. I didn't enjoy it much but the food was definitely fresh and hot though. Our server was very nice as well offering some recommendations on their beer. It was an alright experience. It's located right next to the bridge so you can people watch while others are tubing down the river. It's a quick place to stop if you don't feel like waiting and need a quick meal. The salad wasn't awful. Pub fries were good. I wasn't a fan of the beer cheese unfortunately. My family and I went there last night, no issues, only to return the following night and be accused by Sara that we were "showing our butts and smoking weed" both of which we do not have. We are friends with one of the bartenders who was there till closing who confirmed nothing of the sort took place, to which we were told by Sara that if we don't remember then it's our fault. I had one drink the whole night and to bring my memory into question is unacceptable. Don't try your luck here, you never know what you'll be accused of. Sara gave us the worst customer experience we've ever witnessed, if you see those face piercings, run, but it's probably too late. read more

This place needs some help. Came with 2 other friends and were seated on the bar seats overlooking the water. It was fun to watch the tubers float and the creek view is great. The live music was also great. Unfortunately, that was the only positive of our experience. We sat and waited for any waitress to acknowledge us for over 15 minutes after we sat down. The waitress came over and apologized profusely however she continuously forgot nearly everything we asked for. We had to ask multiple times for simple requests and our order was wrong numerous times. The food is also just not good. The wings were soggy and small, which is not what you want in a chicken wing. Everything else tasted like out of a bag frozen appetizers (we got pierogis, pretzels, pickle fries and a salad). The beer selection was limited and boring. I get that this area is very touristy, but this was just an overall awful experience that I would not recommend others spend time dealing with. read more

This place is fine at best, for a place with karaoke the vibes are awkward and non social. Foods pretty good but the service in some areas is abysmal. I hate to mention names but sara was much less than stellar. Hearing the way she interacted with other guests sorta ruined my night, very disrespectful.
