First time visiting. Thought they were closed, but they welcomed us in. Sat outside with the beautiful view of the golf course and the mountains. Husband plays golf and thought he'd enjoy the view. We had a Philly steak sandwich and Fish and Chips. We were happy with both choices. The next table over had burgers which looked equally delicious. Hardly any wait for our food. We have been here several times now! The name of the restaurant says it all! An absolute beautiful view of the golf course and the mountains. The food is fresh, not frozen hamburger or other meats. Great menu, daily specials and large variety. I highly recommend the brats on a pretzel bun! (Have them deep fried for a crunchy texture). Onion rings are amazing too. Service is wonderful, friendly staff and always a warm welcome! Two years ago my younger daughter had her wedding reception at Butternut. It was perfect. Two weeks ago my older daughter had her wedding reception there as well. It was FANTASTIC!! Ashley and Crystal wanted things as perfect as we wanted them. Our guests raved about the food (delicious coconut shrimp appetizer and the main course pasta , zucchini which was fabulous, and Caesar Salad)! Ashley discretely checked with me making sure all was good throughout the afternoon and worked tirelessly the evening prior as well (rehearsal bbq dinner and ALL DAY) assisting me as we set up and decorated, assuring me all was going to be perfect. And it was! The natural beauty around the venue is just breathtaking adding more beauty to those wedding photos! I randomly found this location on Yelp and decided to go after reading the reviews. It's easy to find and wow the views are amazing! We were sat right away and the servers were great and really honest about the menu and what was good versus what to skip. I got the Bahama mama drink and it was good I also ordered the trout, Caesar salad and mashed potatoes. Boyfriend got the house salad and chicken Alfredo. Both were very good and the Alfredo sauce was homemade and the boyfriend said very cheesy. My dinner was good too I got it with the herb crusted and squeezed some lemon on top and we were good to go! Honestly you can't beat the view, service, food or prices. This is not a super fancy place which I was worried about because we had been traveling all day and I was in yoga pants. If you're at all debating it I would say just go and you won't be disappointed! read more

First off I was the fourth person in our group of about fifteen to order. I was the third to last to get my order. Except for the other two and myself everyone else had finished their lunch by the time we had gotten ours. I took mine home so that I could reheat it. I had ordered a Rueben sandwich and fries. The corned beef wasn't a sliced meat but CHUNKS cut from a brisket. Most of those chunks were fat and gristle. If I had stayed there to eat it I would have returned it and ordered something else. While visiting Blairsville we stopped in and while the view is decent it's only if you are facing the golf course. Otherwise you are looking at a kitchen and a stairwell. The service was excellent and the waitress was very kind and friendly. The food was just ok, basic golf course food. Nothing spectacular. read more

I have gone to this restaurants many times though the years, but it has gone through new management a couple of times in the last year. I am told it is happening again. I recently had one of the worse meals I have had anywhere. I ordered a crab cake sandwich from there new menu. It was like eating 2 very thin slices of salty fried breadcrumb patties on a bun. The service was really bad and the same server came to our table twice to take our order. Last year they lowered their prices and as of June 15th they have raised them for lunch to a level more expensive than anywhere in Blairsville. Also, in the past, you could choose your side without an upcharge. Now they have removed the fried okra option and are charging an additional 2.50 for onion rings to an already overpriced sandwich menu. read more

We were in town for the weekend just visiting and decided to stop in here after reading good reviews. But unfortunately we didn't have a great experience. Yelp shows they are open until 7:30pm on Saturday. We got to the restaurant at about 6:15. Sat down, were handed menus and our drink orders were taken. A minute later the waitress brought back our drinks and asked if we were ready to order. We've never been here before so we were still browsing the menu, but when we tried to tell the waitress that...she made a face that suggested we couldn't take any longer and told us the kitchen is closing in about 5-10 minutes. It was only about 6:20ish at this time and we thought it was weird the kitchen would close so much earlier than the actual restaurant. But anyhow we rush through with ordering. This should've been our clue just to leave, but our waitress reassured us it was fine and to proceed with ordering. My mom had the fried clams. My niece had the kids grilled cheese and I had a Buffalo chicken wrap (comes fried, with lettuce, tomato and either blue cheese or ranch). I specifically asked the waitress for no tomatoes, and with ranch. We get our food, I see my wrap has tomatoes. I think, okay no problem, I'll just pick out the tomatoes. But then I take a bite and it has blue cheese instead of ranch. I really dislike blue cheese so I decided to tell the waitress. She takes it back. Then comes out a minute or two later and says that she's sorry, it's her fault for ringing it in wrong. I'm expecting her at this point to say they'll remake it. But instead she follows it up with...the kitchen is closed now, sorry. My mom asks if she plans on removing it from the tab then since they won't remake it. The lady behind the bar then comes up and says they'll remake it, but can only do so with grilled chicken. I should've just said don't worry about it, because I knew it would be put together in a rush. But I decided to take it with grilled chicken because I was hungry. Another mistake. She brought the new wrap and set it down down on the table without saying a word. The wrap itself was soggy (not even sure how, since it was thrown together right then) and the chicken just fell out of it because it was so loosely wrapped together. I only ate half of it (honestly probably less because half of the chicken fell out). My mom said her fried clams were also not good and tasted old. And my nieces grilled cheese had cheese that was barely melted. I've worked in the service industry in multiple restaurants and I find it really absurd that they didn't just offer to remake my wrap immediately. Whether it was the kitchen or the servers fault - they should've offered to remake it instead of immediately defaulting to, well sorry you can't eat anything because of OUR mistake and now the kitchen is closing up. We were still charged for the wrap which I'm indifferent about. They could've at least discounted the item since it wasn't what I actually wanted (being grilled), and I only ate half. But our server never came back after to check on us except to give us the check. But what really irked both my mom and me at the end of the dinner is that while my mom was pulling cash out to pay the tab and trying to figure out the tip, the waitress STOOD RIGHT OVER my moms shoulder and kept staring at her and how much she was tipping! I have never had a waitress just stand over me and watch while I pay the tab at the table and decide on a tip, and my mom definitely noticed. It was just so unbelievably inconsiderate and rude. Maybe this place is better during the earlier hours when they're not rushing to leave for the day (even though we still walked out before 7pm, and again, Yelp shows they close at 7:30), but we definitely won't be back to find out. read more

The View Grill lives up to its name with a gorgeous view! The seating is very scarce, but when we arrived, another party was finishing up so we didn't have to wait long. During nicer weather the deck would provide not only more seating, but an even better view, and while it was a cold evening that we had dinner there, we were gifted with the last bit of the winter light over the peaks and golf courses below. Best part of the evening was our server Peggi. (I hope I got her name right as I squinted at her nametag and she hadn't introduced herself when she seated us with what I can only describe as some of the best customer service that I've ever received at a restaurant.) She was thoughtful of my daughters and their needs, bringing them art supplies, chatting with them, and treating them as kindly as any other patron, ensuring that they also enjoyed their meals. I had the flat iron skillet with a side of steamed veggies and the onion rings. The steak was cooked perfectly, and the onion rings were to die for!! The two burgers that my daughters ordered were gigantic and also delicious. Parking was ample and the signs indicating what door to enter, and how to get upstairs to the restaurant were well-marked, as we weren't entirely sure where we were going when we pulled in. Prices were reasonable for the quality of food, but I'd recommend going both for the view (duh), and the service. read more

The worst experience ever. Walked in, no employee in sight. We sat at a table and a woman who was sitting behind the bar opposite the tables barked at us to "move to table XX". As if we would KNOW where table XX was! Rude. And it went downhill from there. They don't have trained bartenders, of which we were informed after we had to return two very nasty cocktails. Lunch was more of the same. We placed our order, the server was sweet but she didn't know anything about the menu. She had to keep leaving to ask "the kitchen" questions. We placed our order, and she came back about fifteen minutes later and told us one of the entrees was not available. We re-ordered and we waited. And waited. The entrees finally arrived, and we were very disappointed as all four of our entrees came with what the menu stated was "french fries", but instead they came with some weird wide shaped things that had been formed, squeezed out of a flat mold with ridges - and then they were battered. UGH, they were truly gross, we had no idea what was these "pressed out" molded things were actually made from! And the batter made them more disgusting, unrecognizable, and unpalatable. Needless to say, they went uneaten. Our server never once inquired as to why all four of us didn't eat our fries. The entrees themselves were NOT good. We were shocked this is a functioning "cafe". We recommend AVOIDING it, as many others have mentioned it is something best missed! Avoid! read more

This place has the best patty melt in Blairsville by far. We took a group of friends from Atlanta here after a day in the pool and we had the crab cakes, mozzarella sticks and we had salad. The crab cake sandwich was a hit so was the salmon and asparagus. Our server was great and extremely helpful. The view of the golf course is amazing. We can't wait to go back! read more

For what it is I give this place 5 stars. The staff was exceptional. We were served by Val - loved her energy and customer service. There were no complaints about any of our meals. Valentine's Day. My steak was very good. Myhusband's scallops--not so much. He wasn't sure they were seasoned at all. And there were only 4 in his entree. The service, however, did not go well. The appetizer came out just fine. And then we waited...and waited. Finally our server stopped by to say our entrees would be right out. Unfortunately our soup and salad hadn't made an appearance yet. She said she would get them right out. We asked if this meant our entrees would sit back there and get cold. She said no. We asked if we would have time to eat the soup/salad. She said yes. The soup and salad came in a few minutes. We had 2 bites and there were our entrees. So the meal wasn't exactly relaxed and comfortable. And, being Valentine's Day, they had silver chargers and rose petals on the table. Round chargers. And my husband's scallops were in a rectangular plate. Which they sat on top of the round charger so it wasn't exactly stable. All in all, not an ideal Valentine's Day dinner. read more

Had one of those meetings that try to sell you products you don't need for the house and was catered by the view kitchen. Have eaten there before and service and food were good so I was surprisingly disappointed with what we were served on this occasion. Ordered the steak dinner and wife ordered the salmon w/veggie medley. The server did Not ask how I wanted steak prepared and I was shocked to see the charred burnt offering she brought out. Thank the gods for ketchup. Wife's fish was warm and veggies were cold. Looked around room and saw all steaks were lumps of carbonized meat so choice was turn food back in and probably get the same burned results or just skip eating . l like I said good thing they had lots of ketchup. Suspect the people giving the presentation ordered the cheapest meals they could get and chef was not thrilled about being there on his normal day off. It is a very nice place normally. read more

We normally love The View Grill, but not today in this COVID-environment. Our waitress refused to social distance (she was within inches of us, even though she easily could have stepped to the far side of our table), refused to wear a mask when we requested her to do so (she said it wasn't required, but we later confirmed with the county health department that it is, unless she has a medical condition) and she was talking over our beer glasses as she set them down on the table. We got up and left, leaving our untouched beers behind. If not for COVID, we wouldn't have been concerned. But no beer or food is worth risking a serious illness for. Other servers were wearing masks and there were signs throughout the building reminding people to social distance. Our waitress wasn't willing to respect any of those guidelines. One of the best places in town for a sandwich, plate or just a drink. We go there often when staying in Blairsville. The staff is competent, mostly conscientious and friendly. Although the menu is rather limited, we've seldom not been wowed. Prices are more than reasonable. And did anybody mention the view??? BUT, they don't take American Express! LOL! read more

Went on Yelp & Trip Advisor to look up ratings in restaurants in the Blairsville area... it wasn't number one, but dared ok & obviously the view is beautiful. The View Restaurant was also recommended by a local. So I suggested to hubs we go try a new place, seeing as we're a new transplant & are working our way around... We got there at 5-515 on a Friday. 1 table of 6 inside. When we sat outside there was 1 table of 2 behind us but we heard they were waiting for another couple and there was 3 tables in front of us w 4 plp per table. We sat down and the young lady told us that our waitress would be with us in a few minutes so we had our menu to look at. In the time that we were sitting there ( we waited 20 minutes) there were three waitresses walking about... another set of four people came in to be seated outside and not once did somebody come over with water or acknowledge our presence and say I'll be with you in a few minutes, we're really busy or something. I could understand if they were swamped and then with three people they would be obviously shorthanded running around to serve everybody...I get it. But with three waitresses and that minimal amount of people there's no reason why we had to wait there for 20 minutes and not be acknowledged. So we left. I know things go a little bit at a slower pace up this way then South Florida but I still think that's unreasonable to sit for 20 minutes and not even have water brought to the table or anybody acknowledge that we have sat down. I know others have posted mixed reviews about the slow service & food quality... but I was trying to give them the benefit of the doubt. if they're a really good restaurant and shorthanded I can certainly understand a wait. But not with the situation the way it was. So unless our friends want to go back and make it a couples night, my husband and I will not be going back to try it again for some time. I heard this was county run? City run? If so I'd think they'd want to step up thier game to be ranked at least in the top 5 restaurants in this area...? My opinion. read more

Updating my review from 2 years ago. Whoever made the decision to increase the inside seating and take away the balcony seating made a huge mistake. The whole attraction of The View is just that...the View. Not only has that been greatly altered but they won't even let you sit outside on the adjacent balcony. Even if we order takeout?!?! The food doesn't make up for not sitting outside. I know lots of people who won't go back after the remodel. That's why my friends and I "used to" patronize this restaurant. read more

This restaurant had the best burger and chicken quesadilla! The fries that came along with my burger were good as well. Reasonable prices for the area and a great view of scenery! I would highly recommend. We weren't required to wear masks but the tables are somewhat six feet apart if that matters to you. read more

Ate here last night for dinner out on the balcony and we had a fantastic time. The view is amazing. The food was really good too. I ordered the caesar salad with salmon and my husband ordered the scallops with butter/ritz cracker topping. He said they were just "ok". We would absolutely come back.
