So I got a horrible chop job of a haircut at another salon. I made a consult at Sand Hair and immediately knew I was in the right place - they listened to me and gave me options - 2 weeks later, Mady put extensions in. I was weary because - I've never had extensions - my color is very vibrant- and obviously I just had a horrible experience with another salon. I'm home. I'll never go anywhere else. I'm genuinely shocked by how unprofessional my experience was at this salon. I booked a root lightening touch up for $150, clearly expecting my roots to be lightened. Instead, my roots were not lightened at all. The stylist only applied a toner and then I was charged $200 for a completely different service than what I booked. The explanations I received afterward made no sense and did not match what was actually done. Rather than acknowledging the issue, they tried to justify the upcharge with inconsistent reasoning. What concerns me even more is the lack of care with chemically treated hair. I told the stylist ( Chelsea, salon owner with the judge joshe highest liste experience) multiple times that I had a Brazilian Blowout and needed products that would protect it. They still washed my hair with a sulfate shampoo, which the Kerastase representative confirmed is not safe for Brazilian Blowout treated hair. Any reputable salon should know this. When I reached out to discuss the problem, hoping for a reasonable solution, I was met with defensive and dismissive replies. No accountability, no apology, and no willingness to correct the service. They even suggested I "find another salon" rather than addressing the poor service I received. My hair was put at risk and I was overcharged for a service that was not performed. If you care about transparency, professionalism, and basic respect for clients, I would strongly recommend choosing a different salon. My experience was extremely disappointing. read more

paid $700 for a single highlighting session with no haircut, and it was one of the worst salon experiences I've ever had. My hair was severely overprocessed and fried off during the service. When I returned a few days later after realizing the extent of the damage, I was given no real solution. The only "fix" offered was to come back in a few weeks for a toner, which does nothing to repair what was done. I now have had to spend hundreds of more dollars on hair extensions and moisturizing hair mask to repair the moisture that was lost in my hair..... The stylist who actually overprocessed my hair never apologized or even came out to speak with me. And I know she was there because the manager told me to sit in a specific chair so the stylist could see. Instead, the staff when talking to me was just overall seemed condescending and just invalidating the experience of losing over half of my hair the density is completely gone in my hair. . On top of that, the expensive product they insisted I "needed" was not discounted in any way despite the damage caused in their chair!!! For $700, I expected professionalism, accountability, and at the very least basic customer service. Instead, I left with severely damaged hair, zero acknowledgment of the mistake, and some of the rudest treatment I've ever experienced in a salon. I would never recommend this business to anyone $700 is crazy if you have no customer service skills at all and this salon, I saw no customer service from any of the stylist. As a fair estimate, I accepted the price of $900-$1200; however, the quality of the materials used and the skill set of the stylist were both poor. My original estimate and final total were miles apart with the final price of $2100 not too mention time invested in addition to long hours of hard work, saving money to have extensions for my birthday extravaganza weekend. At the consultation was advised that Bellami Hair 22" ordered (printed on receipt) to discover it was not Bellami Hair ordered after weft extensions unraveled completely out of placement / out of hair the very next day on my birthday; quality of service requested was extremely poor and approach to resolve issues of weft extensions unraveling was done unprofessionally; the workmanship and craftsmanship that should of been done by a style and technique expert, in my case, it appeared to be done by a meer beginner due to and blamed on the owner having her use a different type of string that was sewed in the weft and her not knowing how to correctly sew in knots to hold weft in place; vibe was awkwardly unwelcoming like a click in a very exclusive setting and outsiders were always frowned upon! Where I am from all money is green and it spends exactly the same. Keep in mind I am a new client that is contact with many people from all aspects of society in the professional world. To rectify the major issues of situation, an invitation to the stylus home was offered to reinstall the hair in which it was then layered on top of each other all in the back below the ears. It was as if it was done purposely as I questioned her ability and was disappointed with amount spent and the ending result especially for a special getaway 49th birthday that was planned for two years with family & friends. When I asked about the pain of swelling on back of head due to placement of second install was told extensions may not be for me. Never have I felt humiliated the most after paying over $2100 on hair. I also emailed salon owner with no response. Horrible experience, traumatic to say the least. With a white blonde bob -- it's imperative that a stylist with experience and knowledge handles especially my bleach and tone. Unfortunately, a large section of my bob had bad breakage after a botched application at a different salon. I knew I needed to upgrade to a specialist to prevent further damage. Amy at Sand Hair rescued me! The salon is beautiful. Its boho minimalist aesthetic is such a vibe. The girls that work there are gorgeous and put together, their own locks -- enviable. I'm always handled with expert care, the integrity of my hair is the top priority. Thankfully the breakage at my crown has grown out. My hair is in excellent shape now and always comes out that frosty, white blonde that I love. My precision bob is *perfection* every time. Amy's assistant gives the best blowouts that last me like a week. I'm always asking for tips how to recreate the style when I'm home. This has got to be one of THEEEE WORSSSST salons i have ever been too. i asked for a full head balayage from (IG @KAYLAA_SANDHAIRCO) & got a half & at the end she did exactly what i said DO NOT do and painted my roots brown so it just looked like i had never been to the salon in a month or so. (also while she was doing my hair she told me many stories about people unhappy and causing a scene in the salon and we were laughing and i didnt think anything of it as she said they were being crazy and dramatic... now i get why ) When i left and went to a friends, as stylist & i had already agreed it was a two session job , my friend immediately looked at my hair and took photos &was in shock how terrrrrible it was.. i wasnt upset as i thought it would be fixed in session two. ive waiting months (september) to post this review as i thought i would get atleast half of my money back since the stylist did half of the job and we agreed on two sessions. i can admit im not the easiest patient to work on and need extra time however that was discussed prior and having cancer isnt a easy life style so getting my hair done was suppose to be fun. after ages of the stylist not replying she put me through to the owner and the owner said she would fix my hair and then sent me back to get it fixed by the girl who ignored me after not finishing..(what a awkward session that would of been) . then she booked the appointment and i told her that day didnt work.. so i reached out again and she blocked me.. so i reached back out to the owner to just be as kind as possible and say id be writing a review that wasnt good and that i'd be cancelling the 330$ payment & the owner said she would take me to court. luckily my family is full of lawyers and i forwarded all convos and it would be me winning any court case if i took it there (i never would its ,too petty) . she then also blocked me. i let her know multipul times the situation etc so yeah... unless its a basic hair job,... save your time and money lol. false advertising.. their hair and vibes dont even match their edited videos they post online ! read more

I had a consultation with Chelsea a couple weeks ago for high lift blonde, veil, and cut. I have been getting this service for years from a previous stylist but for personal reasons I needed to move on. Chelsea was extremely confident and sold me instantly. I arrived yesterday for my appointment and the receptionist told her she was scheduled to reception all day (1st red flag I ignored). They both came and we had a chat Chelsea stated just the high lift color today so I didn't push the highlight since the receptionist was doing the work. It appeared Chelsea mixed it. They both were applying the touch up. Then the receptionist grabbed me to wash. The receptionist asked her if she should do blue or purple shampoo and Chelsea told her to mix. So we get to the chair and I showed her the roots were not the same and she said oh because it's wet and walked away. The receptionist did the rest of the blowout while Chelsea tended to another client. Everyone was very nice but I walked out it with what u would get a cosmetology school by a student. This appears to be a grey/blue tone and grey not covered when I had a touch up. Should have just stayed the way I was and saved the money. There is also a powdery residue on my scalp. I texted them with pics yesterday and today to see if they could make it right with no response. So I have an appointment tomorrow with a new salon. Moral of the story... be clear with your concerns at the time and do not accept this type of work. Especially when they are overconfident and quick to blow u off for another client. This salon is not only fun to be in, but also super comfy. I went for a full blonding appointment and a hair cut, and let me tell you I have never had a better haircut. I ended up at the end of the appointment being unsure if I was really happy with the toner I had choose. I ended up calling back the next day to see if they could fit me in for a consultation and another toner. They got me in right when I called for a consultation, so Rachael and I talked it through on what I wanted to change. She then very kindly fit me in the next day because I was from out of town and leaving in the next two days. As a very indecisive person, I could not have had a better stylist who was very patient and kind with me.
