I booked an appointment to…read moreget my roots done and was genuinely looking forward to having a little time to myself as a busy mom of two. When I arrived, I had my two-year-old with me in a stroller. She was calm, quiet, and watching a movie completely unbothering anyone. The salon itself was nearly empty, with only one other client present. Instead of being welcomed, I was immediately met with a very cold and judgmental attitude from the front desk. I was looked up and down, along with my stroller, and told in a very rude and inflexible manner that children were not allowed and that I would either need to leave or reschedule. As a mother, it is not always easy to find time for self-care, and I made the effort to come in for this appointment. The lack of empathy or basic courtesy was honestly shocking. There was zero attempt to accommodate, problem-solve, or even speak kindly. To make matters worse, I was charged $75 (50% of the service) simply for having to leave despite the fact that the situation could have been handled with basic human decency and flexibility. I do want to note that Desi, the hairstylist, did try to be kind while witnessing the way I was being treated, and I appreciate that. I understand this situation was not her fault. However, the overall customer service and experience are a direct reflection of the business she represents. This was the first time I've ever experienced something like this at a salon. I left feeling embarrassed, dismissed, and frankly, discriminated against for being a mother. I will not be returning, and I would not recommend this salon especially to other moms. There are plenty of places that treat clients with respect, kindness, and understanding. This was not one of them.

I went in trusting that I was…read morepaying professionals to properly highlight, color, and blend my hair, and I left with results that were completely unacceptable. There were multiple areas of uneven bleaching, poor blending, inconsistent tones, and an unbelievable amount of bleeding from the highlights throughout my hair. What's even crazier is that I didn't even realize how bad or extensive the bleeding was when I initially left the salon. It wasn't until I went somewhere else to have my hair fixed and the new stylist started parting and sectioning through my hair that we could actually see just how many bleed marks were underneath and throughout it. Once she started going through each section, more and more areas became visible. The stylist fixing my hair was genuinely shocked when she parted through it and saw the amount of bleeding and how some of the highlights had been done. There were obvious bleach marks, random patches of blonde where they were never supposed to be, unevenly processed sections, and poor blending. This wasn't one tiny imperfection that I was being overly picky about. I didn't even know the full extent of it myself until another professional went through my hair section by section and showed me. The work was bad enough that I literally had to go to ANOTHER salon and pay another stylist to correct what Monaco Salon did to my hair. I had to spend additional money, time, and effort correcting a service that I had already paid Monaco Salon to do professionally. Thankfully, I found someone who actually knew how to correct it and make my hair look presentable again. What makes this entire situation even worse is how Monaco handled it afterward. I had an appointment scheduled for them to address the situation, and they waited until THE DAY BEFORE THE APPOINTMENT to contact me and tell me they were no longer comfortable providing services because they were concerned that further processing could cause "significant breakage or damage." The irony of that statement is unbelievable. Your salon processed my hair and left it with all of this bleeding, uneven highlighting, and poor blending in the first place. If my hair was supposedly in such a compromised condition that another service could cause significant damage, then I have serious questions about why it was processed the way it was during my original appointment and why I was allowed to leave the salon in that condition. And don't worry--I wasn't planning on coming back to that appointment anyway. By the time I received that message, I had already gone somewhere else and had my hair fixed by someone who actually knew what they were doing. After another stylist parted through my hair and showed me everything that had been left underneath, there was absolutely no chance I was going to allow this salon to touch my hair again. Mistakes can happen, but there is a huge difference between one small mistake and leaving a client with multiple bleach bleeds throughout their hair, unevenly processed sections, inconsistent color, and poor blending, and then canceling the day before the appointment that was supposed to address the situation. The entire experience and the way it was handled afterward were incredibly unprofessional. Hair services are expensive. Clients should not have to pay professional salon prices, leave with results like this, and then pay an entirely different salon to correct the work. The fact that I didn't even discover the full extent of the bleeding until another stylist professionally sectioned through my hair--and that she was shocked by what she found--made the situation that much worse. I will absolutely be posting photos of exactly how my hair was left because potential clients deserve to see the actual results before deciding where to spend their money. The photos speak for themselves. I would never trust Monaco Salon with my hair again.

I showed up Sunday morning to discover I didn't have an appointment. Apparently, while booking on my cell phone, I had booked for Saturday morning accidentally. They didn't allow me to reschedule my service that I had paid for since "the owner doesn't usually do that" even though they had ton's of available appointments the following day. I am out $50.00 and will never go to this or their Tampa location. I guess they prefer bad reviews rather than giving a customer what they paid for.
