Some of the illusions are things you've probably seen online, and my wife got dizzy from a few. We had the entire Museum to ourselves and enjoyed taking our time. Staff was very helpful with camera position recommendations and explanations. That said, I do wish there was a bit more to do. The space isn't very big, and it took less than an hour to go through everything. For the price, I expected a few more interactive elements or unique illusions. Overall, I'd recommend it if you're already at the Mall of America and want to do something a little different--especially with friends or family. It's a good spot to laugh, take creative pictures, and see some reality-bending visuals. Just go in knowing it's a short experience and maybe plan something else afterward to make the most of your day!

The staging in each room was really good--a lot better than expected! There were jump scares throughout and a cute photo opportunity at the very end. My biggest gripe with this experience is that it was a little short, especially compared to how long we had to wait to get in.

My tickets were for 8, but I didn't get to go in until 9 because the line was slow. We did get to see two showings of an aerialist in line, which did help make it a bit more bearable. However, you figure out that the line is so slow because they do a good job of keeping each group small and spaced out, allowing you to enjoy the haunted house at your own pace. The house was actually a well decorated maze, so it was a puzzle trying to figure out where to go. The actors cannot touch you, but there was a good amount of jump scares. We ended up taking 20-25 minutes to go through the maze. There were also a couple photo opportunities inside. We exited into a gift shop and went to the bar which had a drag show (i think this was a special and isn't a regular occurrence, so it was a nice surprise). i also love that there were lots of photo ops outside. I didn't pay for my tickets and $40 sounds a little steep but it was fun, and I'm seeing some discounts available for specific dates and MEA weekend, so I would say it's worth it if you find a discount day!

I was hoping to love my experience at scream town but I left without a solid scare. We purchased…read morethe most expensive pass for the evening which was really expensive but it was really nice to cut through to the front of the lines. This pass included the trail ride which was OK - I'd skip this in the future! The ride stopped at different "scenes" which were fun to watch but none were really scary. I was hoping through a dark ride through the woods where there was more pop out scaring and didn't expect the multiple stops with different scenes. After the trail ride we went through all of the haunted houses. They were set up super well but unfortunately even though they tried to give a bit of time between entry of groups, we found ourselves always just missing the pop out scares as the actor had just finished scaring the group ahead of us and was getting back into position. No one's fault and they do a good job of keeping the lines moving fast, it was just unfortunate timing that left us feeling like we weren't really getting a full scare experience. They had a stage for different shows, food trucks, and other stops for entertainment which was nice! I won't write it off my list completely but it's not top of my list to go back to.

This is the most expensive one that I know about. We splurged for the Ultimate VIP pass, which for a Friday night was well above $100 each. And my friends and I all agreed that it was worth it! Most of the experience is a linear path starting with a hayride and going through at least five haunted houses, but before each of those sections there is a line, and if it's a busy night that line will be long. We strolled past each of those lines with our fancy VIP pass and it was like one incredibly long, satisfying haunted house experience. There is so much walking starting at the end of the hayride that I skipped the gym the next day and felt no guilt. That hayride is unique. They have all the seats pointed to one side, and it stops at a number of stages for very theatrical vignettes. Some of the vignettes involve impressive magic trickery! What happens after that is best left as a surprise, but I will say that there are many fun, creative ways that Scream Town distinguishes itself from its competitors. Lots of animatronics! That must require a large team of mechanical engineers to maintain, so the price tag makes sense. Note that two of the sections are only available to the upper ticket tiers. But also note that you can do the largest section ("Oak Blood Forest") on its own for a much smaller fare. The village with all the food kiosks and souvenir booths is big and bustling, with lots of options including a magic shop where a professional magician gives a fun demo. There are stages with shows! You can really spend a full evening here. I am very impressed!

They do have some decent food options, including pizza and chicken tenders. Many people bring their own coffee, so I don't see why you couldn't bring your own lunch, if you're feeling discreet. There are also party rooms available for around $350 for a party, which doesn't include sodas and two large pizzas! Overall, this place is great for kids aged 3 to 12. I recommend arriving early, around noon, as the number of kids triples during that time. The place is very clean and spacious, with everything big enough for adults to help the kids if needed.

We tried two of the four they were both excellent and the rest looked fantastic. They also had four signature mock tails. The food curated for the event also looked great but we made the mistake of eating before we went. The mood was festive and there were people of all ages from 21 on up there. I went with just one friend. I think it could've been even more fun if we brought a crew but either way I think it is an extraordinary sFriday night out with just a special someone or friends.
