Physical Therapy's timeline. I went from being a Boston…read moremarathon participant to not being able to work or sustain a minimum level activities. For six months, I was struggling to even walk a few blocks. I had chest pain, dizziness, headaches, tingling in the extremeties and face, as well as a general level of fatigue. I was seen by about 20 different Doctors, including specialists. I took just about every type of heart and lung test. I had blood drawn 60 times. I had a liver biopsy done. All of which revealed little as to what was causing my problems. After all of this, and gaining 35 pounds, I was beginning to lose hope. Kristi Spencer had heard about my case and was continually asking me to come in to Wilsonville Physical therapy for several months. Being a person who had no experience with anything but the standard Doctors and medical care, I had been reluctant. I'm sure glad I finally listened to Kristi. The first thing she did was simply talk to me for an hour, asking probing questions about every aspect of my life and health. She asked about car accidents, and i told her about one I'd been in 8 years earlier. She asked if I still had any pain associated with it. I told her that I did, mostly in my neck. She started poking around on my neck and the back of my head, and was able to simulate the symptoms I had been feeling. I was flabbergasted. She just matter of factly said, "I think I can help you, lets get to work." The next day I waked 11 miles around Portland. Just smiling, and giggling at how good It felt to do something as simple as walking and breathing again. 6 weeks later I was back to work. Tomorrow will be the one year anniversary of my return. I have not missed one day because of being too sick to work in that time. This past summer I was able to camp, hike, fish, and do all the things that I enjoy in life. This morning I ran 6 miles. All of this is thanks to Kristie. She is attentive to detail, kind, compassionate, and incredibly intelligent. She consistently takes extra classes and training so that she can be at the cutting edge of new techniques in physical therapy. She truly cares about her patients and making them well. She has been willing to answer questions and offer advice even when she is not on the clock. I've found that many people in the medical and health care field are put off by a case that isn't cut and dry and easy to fix. This is not Kristie, in fact she is the opposite. She enjoys the challenge of the difficult, and actually wants to see challenging patients. I got my life back thanks to Wilsonville Physical therapy and Kristi Spencer. Please message me if you have further questions or I can help you in any way.
