Early Summer tee times begin at 6:30 am and fill quickly I have never had a golf ball land in a fairway divot or claim an awkward lie in one of the many fairway or green-side bunkers, and no other Course in Albuquerque can make that boast After a fairly rugged up hill climb several downhill par fives allow one to reach in two shots !! Sandia is immaculate X 10!! The course and its amenities are over the top!! The staff were all professional, helpful, and informative. Incredible quality of this resort. The views around the course were stunning as were the views of the resort. Not a hair out of place at this course. Very forgiving yet greens and surrounding areas were extremely challenging. This course can be anything you want it to be. Depending on your tees, I it could be a beautiful less challenging course. As you move back, it can become devilish and difficult. Gives you a chance off the tee box and then tighten up as you get towards the green. Such a pristine course and enjoyable experience. read more

The golf course is immaculate and we really enjoyed the scenery and the great course, however if you are handicapped like me you have to tell them loudly you need help getting clubs to the car!! Played on a Thursday morning @ 7:30am while at the resort with my wife for a business convention. The course is beautifully maintained, and it's a tough one if you've never played it. Lots of desert in between and along all holes. Bring extra balls, for sure! The greens were the fastest I've ever seen. The carts are nice with a 10" GPS monitor. Kind of sucked that you can't drive the cart to your vehicle to unload your clubs, but the attendants do wipe down your clubs for you after the round. $75 green fees include cart & complimentary range balls. September is a prime time of year to golf here. Not very crowded, and 80 degrees for a high. read more

I have been to the Sandia golf club restaurant three times now and I absolutely love this place. First off the ambience of the patio with the sweeping views from east to west is gorgeous. The staff here is extremely accommodating and very very kind and warm. The kitchen does a superb job of creating wonderful dishes from their breakfast lunch menu. Prices are listed on the menu with tax already included. I will be back again and again and again. I have brought family here and Friends and everyone has felt the same as me. We are fans. read more

Golf was a big factor in where my husband & I chose to stay for our weekend getaway & I'd say this place mostly delivered. With snow still hitting in April, we were looking to vacation somewhere close that could replicate an AZ or Palm Springs golf vibe. The course was a beautiful green oasis we got to enjoy while playing & from the view in our room. The staff were also super nice. The only dings I'd give the course is the 4.5 hr round which one sort of expects for pace of play at a resort course. The more important bummer was the sparce snack shack. They have a tasty looking, large menu of hot & cold options but on the day we played they said they could only make us hot dogs. This was a fully booked Friday afternoon with all the cart girls out so we fully expected the snack shack to be up to par. read more

Sandia is probably my favorite course in town. The 18th hole is the best hole you can play in Albuquerque if you have a slice. The course is challenging, and a blast at the same time! Don't veer off into the mesa with your cart as the GPS will stop you instantly! The GPS cart lock's suck, but I understand why they have them. The speed governor on them also sucks, but nothing you can do. It's a pricey course, but you get range balls and a cart included. read more

Not many golfers can score a quadruple bogey on hole 17 and bounce back with a birdie on hole 18. But that's the way Jimi does it. The best part about Sandia is the fairway funnels (love that band) that guide your errant shots back towards the middle. The course is scenic, the tee boxes are well maintained, and the greens and green. Ladera could learn a thing or two on the last point about actually having grass that is green. Automatic refills on your driving range balls like a restaurant that gives free refills on your soda. God bless America. 5 stars read more

Super nice well manicured golf course with very nice staff and lots of pretty girls to assist with food, drinks and club care. Might be the best golf course I have ever played. One complaint is the practice range is noisy because a maintenance cushman cart would drive by about every 3 minutes. Seemingly for no reason. Two of the carts were the same guys who looked like they had nothing to do. I'm not joking in the hour I was there they drove by like 10 times each. read more

I initially had a very wonderful and special wedding day. The venue is beautiful and the staff was accommodating. However, my one star rating is caused by a wedding crasher stealing our card box of wedding cards during our event. I don't realistically expect to recover any of the cards or gifted money that was stolen, and based on the lack of information gleaned from the security cameras, the likelihood the culprit is identified is null. However, I did want to provide my experience for anyone planning future weddings, so they can make sure it doesn't happen to them. The frustrating part of our experience is that our wedding planner had checked multiple times prior to and leading up to the ceremony if there would be adequate security present during the event and had even inquired if we would need to pay for additional security, which the venue reassured they would provide adequate security. Secondly, on viewing the security footage of the theft, there were several coincidental characteristics about the theft that do not sit well with us: the person being able to avert his face from the cameras, his vehicle license being non visible to any of the cameras, the route & method he entered/exited the venue, and his knowledge of the wedding happening at the day/time that it did. Also, after the theft, we were told this has happened before on the Sandia Resort side of the house. We filed our police report the night of the wedding, but like I mentioned, we don't expect to recover anything. I had a wonderful wedding experience that was unfortunately blemished by something that I think should have been very easily avoided and after learning this had happened before, my initial forgiveness thinking the theft was just bad luck has turned into frustration at the lack of accountability from the resort for allowing this to happen. read more

I played at noon on a Tuesday, I arrived 30 minutes early (max allowed) and was greeted at the bag check. First impression the place is beautiful and the staff are friendly and helpful. I checked in and the customer service just kept getting better, I purchased a few items and paid for my round . I came down stairs and my bag was loaded in a cart and ready to go. I putted for a while and headed to the range, balls were stacked and the tees were grass. I then went to the starter met my playing partners and started our round. I clicked with the local couple I played with and had a great round. Even thou it was aTuesday the beverage cart passed by every three holes, the bathrooms were clean and the snack shack at the turn was top shelf. I play a lot of golf around the west and this course is worth playing and great bang for your buck. I will be back read more

Such a beautiful golf course. Pretty well maintained as well. It's a resort course so always super busy, but that's to be expected. The greens play true, tricky but true. Pace of play is usually pretty good. Not too much waiting considering how busy it always is. There were two things that kept me from giving it a 5-star review: One, the drink cart only came around twice during our whole 100 degree 18-hole day. The second time it came around was when we were halfway done on 18, so that was a little late :( Two, there are SO MANY wasps!!!! While I try my darndest to stay away from the water, golf happens. Even about 10 feet away from the actual water the wasps are thick in the air. In the shade on some of the tee boxes there are also wasps. Not a fan. Overall, it's a great course that's fun to play and we'll keep playin. read more

I have been to the event center which opened a few years ago twice now. Once for a wedding and the other for a celebration of life event. The facility is lovely, aesthetically pleasing and has a beautiful view of the mountains on the east side of the center. The food was good both times I was there and the service was excellent! The course was great, however, it was 100 degrees out and they had NO water on the course. I spent roughly $60 on bottled water. Kind of ridiculous. Most courses including some in the area have water coolers or bottled water available. read more

We golfed here for a tournament recently and was blown away with the shape of the course, the food, and all of the staff. I rented clubs and I thought $50 seemed kind of steep for a round, but they were all muscle back titleists with wedges, hybrids, and woods. So not a bad deal. It was hot and not too many places to catch shade on the course but the cart gals managed to roll up consistently throughout the round. The carts were nice. GPS and also limiters that prevented you from driving on the green or off the course. Yardage was pretty much spot on give or take 2-3 yards. Greens rolled true and it was easy to hold them. The bar and restaurant was also good. Cold and crisp beer and freshly prepared food. I had the green chili cheese burger with a side of slaw. Noshed it down really quick. Get an early morning tee time during Balloon Fiesta, and you will have the best view in the city of mass ascension. This is a beautiful course with a wonderful view on every hole. Great way to admire Gods creation for 4 hours. There is some transition on the greens from bentgrass to poa annua, but greens roll true and are super fast. I will be back!! read more

This is a world-class course with a world-class staff. The view of the mountains will wow you. The course is extremely well maintained. The staff is simply the friendliest I've encountered at any course. They have state-of-the-art carts that will help you navigate the course as well as keep you from going where you aren't supposed to. The club offers bag check, food, restrooms, excellent service and all the amenities you'd expect to find at a private country club, without the country club dues. The kids at bag drop and washing the clubs were awesome. Other than that, the place is a big meh. I was under strict orders to have the cart turned in by 7:30 and was told all the sprinklers would turn on right then anyway. Of course, this was absurd. The greens are not in good condition as of May 2017. They have been taken over by poa and are very blotchy, bumpy and inconsistent. I finished my round at 7:25 pm and thought I'd grab a burger and a beer but was told they close their kitchen at 7pm. WTF? The layout is interesting but the conditions and pro shop staff don't match. Would pass if I had to do it over again. read more

This place sucks! Sand Traps are hard, food tastes like its from South America. If I pay $8 for a sandwich, I expect something good - not elementary school cafeteria food. Not to mention she didn't give me a cheese and wanted to charge me - really I am arguing for a slice of cheese on an $8 sandwich(no chips or fries) and its the worst food in Albuquerque. Greens were rolling really hot and slow depending where your slopes were - no consistency. Sandia golf club is one of Albuquerque's many majestic gems! It is one of my favorite courses to play when I'm wanting a challenge or taking out a friend for an epic day of golf! The course is not only well maintained, the views alone will blow your mind!! The price is very reasonable and the staff is fantastic! The pace of play is perfect for novice or advanced players. This used to be my favorite course but it has declined lately. The players assistants/rangers do not understand how to maintain pace of play, and are arrogant and rude. The pro shop crams too many people on the course and does not allow enough time between groups to allow proper spacing. The low handicappers get very testy if you are golfing with young people or people who are not scratch golfers. Also the greens are full of unrepaired ball marks. Poor management. read more
