Awesome country club. Came to do some laps and only one lane was open at the time. Pool only went 6 feet deep. There was 2 lifeguards on duty. The bartender was super nice and friendly. Food was affordable and healthy. I really enjoyed my turkey wrap. The locker rooms were clean and huge. Gym was on the smaller side but can't complain.

There's a lot happening at this property in the southeast Sandia foothills, and I can't comment on any of it, because I'm not a member of the Club. So why am I commenting? Because people need to know what they're missing. I'd venture to bet that the majority of the members of this place would rate it five stars, but I'm guessing -- and this is totally biased and ageist (who knew that was a word?) -- that most of the members of this Club don't use Yelp to review their recent round on the golf course, or tennis lesson, or lap in the pool. Is this endemic of the Country Club demographic, at large? Probable. Most members of private Country Clubs don't Yelp. What a shame. It's a great shame because The Canyon Club is totally upping their game, and they have been for a couple of years, now. They have a fantastic restaurant, but it's only open to members. They recently hired Chef John Apodaca from Corrales, and the menu is particularly edgy, considering the demographic. I devoured a plate of grilled romaine paired with his version of poutine (white gravy, not legit, but slammin' regardless. Let it be known that I have yet to find an actual, true dat plate of poutine anywhere in ABQ). But whatever. The restaurant in this place is terrific, and they're not afraid to take risks. I'll finish with this: Were I living in the Heights I'd be a member of this Club. They have an awesome pool, great food, and I'm a tennis player so I'd come here to hit a few. And I'd personally never get involved with the whole golf thing, but that's just me. But we'll see if I'm saying that ten years from now.

The staff is amazing. Golf course is well taken care of. The restaurant has some of the best food I've tasted. Definitely recommended!

The food at ACC is very hit or miss, sometime is will be decent, other times it is absolutely terrible. I visited a few months back and had one of the worst food I have had out to eat. I ordered the special which was fish and it was terrible and was accompanied by microwaved frozen vegetables. I went again because my grandparents are members and I will say that the food was better this time around although nothing great. I had the filet mignon which was accompanied by mashed potatoes and grilled zucchini. I ordered the steak rare plus, and it came closer to medium. The sauce over the steak was not great and overpowered the flavor of the beef. The grilled zucchini was very good though, but the mashed potatoes were bad. I ordered a Manhattan which was pretty good although a bit too sweet for my liking, and the maraschino cherry was gross. But the one nice thing I will say is that our waitress was great very attentive and polite.

The course is pristine and I am thrilled to play 18 holes in three hours, I have tried a dozen courses in Albuquerque and several clubs are comparable to ACC but the members and staff make this the place to be. We finished the first nine in one hour and forty minutes; Joe didn't think we were fast enough and pushed us twice. At the tenth hole, this fool came up a third time in his cart, and told us that this was the "last warning." He then split our foursome which, in turn, forced us to wait at the remaining tee boxes for the new threesome ahead of us. Splitting the group delayed everyone on the back nine. Smart, huh? Despite his childish move, our now twosome still finished the entire 18 in three hours and thirty minutes. The average 18 holes takes FOUR hours and thirty minutes. Despite Joe, we were waaay ahead of average. Before today, I used to play Santa Fe Country Club frequently. Joe's behavior was completely new and absolutely unnecessary. It doesn't serve SFCC to have angry people employed even if the management might think he's "moving things along." He wasn't and all he did in this critical role was create enemies for his employer.

My main complaints include the following: 1. One of the trainers approached me at the gym (an Italian woman with large glasses) and demanded that I put my phone away when I was changing a playlist on Spotify. I was neither talking nor texting. I brought this up with the membership director and I requested a follow-up after the trainer had been spoken to. I never received a follow-up. 2. The steam room is hazardous--the only way to turn it off is manually through the outside button. I brought this up as a huge hazard with the staff and they shrugged and said it 3. The towel drop is located inconveniently outside of the lockerroom because "there is no male staff available." There is also a sign that states that we are not allowed to put dirty towels on the ground. So basically, if one were to go to the steam room and use a towel, it's expected to get dressed again just to put the towel outside and then undress and go back to the shower and get a new towel. 4. The restaurant is only open a few hours a day. Most athletic clubs I've been to will usually have a cafe or some part of the restaurant open for gym-goers.

Driver should not be needed here. Although the starter told me "no cart paths exist so just keep off the greens", but I was approached by the golf course Marshall around the 5th hole telling me I was getting too close to the greens in my cart - I was a good 30 feet away from the closest green! Anyway, he said I needed to be at least 30 yards from the green. Really dude? Anyway, I might have given the course a 5-star review if not for that discussion. Obviously thinking back whether or not you got your money's worth can frustrate the best of us, but I believe it crosses just about everyone's mind despite the tax bracket we fall in. So, if value is a concern, then muni courses obviously serve a great purpose, don't they? Especially if you're a beginner, the last thing you want to do is drop serious dough at a high end course when you're barely able to get that little white demon ball straight down the fairway. Look, with the exception of some, I'd venture to write even the vast majority of professional golfers paid their dues at various muni courses across the country. They're there for a reason, and I'm certainly glad they are. My daughter, wife and I (all beginners) played the executive par 3 9-hole and had a frustratingly great time! Relatively cheap, flat and straight. We walked it for the extra exercise aspect, and really enjoyed our day. If you're also a beginner, consider playing best ball like we did to help things move along a little faster. Whether just hitting some balls on the driving range, or actually playing, I know we'll be back plenty. And you might want to go burn a few calories too. Cheers!
