He also mentioned that they will be implementing laser technology to target cavities sometime next year so less invasive and definitely gives patients like me peace of mind. The stand alone building itself is easy to locate and there's plenty of parking which is unheard of in North Park! There is also a beautiful mural done on the wall facing the parking lot :) Lastly, there is a grocery store across the street called "North Park Produce" that sells produce, fresh baked flat breads daily, and various prepared Middle Eastern food. Dr. Victor examined my teeth, and we discussed some options. I went with the extraction and bone graft. I did enjoy the options and not feel compelled. I was a bit concerned about the pain. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the procedure was pain-free. They even provided an air sensation on the opposite side of my cheek, which helped distract me from the initial injection, which was completely painless due to the numbing of the gums beforehand. The entire staff demonstrated exceptional expertise and professionalism, which convinced me of their capabilities. Since then, I've had several other dental procedures performed there, including bone grafting, removal of old silver fillings that were damaged, fillings, and a deep cleaning with text messages reminding you of your up-and-coming appointments and then follow-ups after your procedure, seeing how you feel. They have been accommodating with payment arrangements, and I have become a loyal customer. I truly appreciate the helpful and friendly nature of the staff. They were always eager to answer any questions I had, no matter how simple they may have seemed. Instead, the dentist immediately tried to press me into an expensive deep cleaning with an inflated quote. When I politely declined, the dentist whose name is James Kamada literally walked out of the room while I was still speaking to them. The attitude was completely unprofessional. They eventually let me proceed with the standard cleaning I came for, but charged me $74 out of pocket. The worst part came over seven months later when I received a surprise bill for an additional $68. They claimed my insurance only covered 80% of the X-rays instead of 100%. Looking closely at the billing statement, my insurance already paid them $372, plus my $74 out-of-pocket payment--bringing their total to $446 for a routine visit. On top of that, there is a random "$112 Charge Adjustment" listed on the statement with no clear explanation. It feels like they just make up charges as they go and try to squeeze every dollar possible out of patients. Greedy practices, poor bedside manner, and deceptive billing. Save yourself the headache and go somewhere else.

I have lived a life of severe dental anxiety causing me to not see a dentist for decades. I had no idea what to expect! I have read online that some dentists shame patients for neglecting care, or how some just don't care if you're anxious. My mind was full of all kinds of interesting thoughts and fears. I told him and his staff that I am anxious, and they treated me with extra care and explained everything along the way. After some x-rays and a consultation, I needed an extraction and some fillings! Yikes. It was kind of a shock, although I knew I'd need some extensive work. Well, today, the staff greeted me upon arrival. I was checked in and then asked to wait in the patient waiting room. The waiting room is clean, quiet, and calming before a visit. There is event a purified water dispenser with little cups for filling up. The dental technician/asst named Abby called my name for my appointment to begin. She greeted me and then she roomed me. Once in the room, she took internal photos of my teeth and mouth, gave me a blood pressure wristband , and also administered the saliva bacteria test/lab. I got the results within 10-15 mins on my online Dental MyChart record, they are quick here! Abby then received permission from the dentist to take me to get my x-rays. They have a standup machine that's like taking an oral CT Scan 360° photo of your mouth. Then we had the regular dental x-rays where you have to bite down on the trays with the xray manual camera. I really thought it was cool because they also offered to clean my orthodontic retainer while I was here. It literally took only 15 or 20 minutes and it has been cleaner than I've ever seen it since I got it 7-8 years ago. Thanks! Once done with all of my intake tasks, I was able to meet my new dentist, Dr Wu. I explained to her my concerns, and she was very good about examining my mouth and being gentle as well as giving me all of the information that I needed during her exam. I have to say this is probably the best dentist I've ever encountered so far. Her demeanor is wonderful and she does a really good job at articulating and explaining everything that she's thinking about or diagnosing in your mouth. I did also appreciate that she reviewed my saliva bacterial test results and that she gave really good insight on some of the things that the results mean. Doctor Who has a way of making you not feel bad about your situation in your mouth and I really appreciate her for that. Some people are really natural about positive bedside manner, and Dr. Woo was definitely one of those people. Thanks! Since I felt so comfortable, I have agreed to continue and get my work done here. Once Dr. Woo was done with me, she was able to introduce me to Tom who was able to give me all the information that I needed for my treatment plan and everything that Dr. Wu described and explained to me about her course of treatment. Tom is very pleasant and welcoming, and he is also the same person who checked me in and made me feel comfortable for my visit. I like his positive vibe, it matches Dr. Wu's positivity. I will update my review after I get my dental work done, but I'm very happy that I chose to come here. Today as a new patient, I got a brand new toothbrushing kit, which includes some really cool stuff. My daughter has been a patient at Kensington Dental for many years. Medical only covers once a year which totally sucks. Anyway I was hoping I didn't have a nervous breakdown in the chair due to PTSD from the old creepy dentist. I held it together and she was very kind. First of all scheduling was easy. I got an appointment surprisingly fast every time. I have never had to wait more than a few minutes in the waiting room, but they do seat you and make you wait. I worked in the dental field for over 20 years which I never tell people. I want to see how they do things. My last visit they sat me and she was still scaling teeth which is the start of a cleaning. She did apologize for the wait which I was fine. (I hate when they don't acknowledge it). She used topical per my request. It is helpful if you have not been in awhile. She had a brand new ultrasonic cleaner, but most of her equipment is dated and need of repairs. Everything appeared sterilized correctly. The x-ray machine has a wandering arm making the assistants job difficult. So as a patient for 2 years I have not had ANY cavities which is shocking. I always have cavities. So I find it hard to believe she over diagnosed someone on their review. She is very thorough and gentle. Is she chatty? NO Is this state of the art? NO Is it a good dentist. YES And that is a hard thing to find on Medical.

How did 3 cavities pop up within 6 months after I hadn't been to the dentist in 5+ years? Another 6 months go by and I choose to get a second opinion from another dentist in this area who not only told me I have ZERO cavities but this scam has been pulled by this office before. My new dentist also told me those 3 cavities were conveniently not listed in my medical records from this office, though I still have the itemized estimate they sent to my insurance. Fast forward another 2 regular cleanings at my new dentist and still no cavities. I'm appalled you want to drill into people's only set of teeth just to line your pockets.

I cannot in my wildest dreams see Dr. Aldo ever doing something like this - nor do I believe her to work in an environment in which this would ever take place. I stand firm in my belief that Bella Vita Dental is not capable of fostering this sort of behavior. The front desk staff were friendly and inviting and thorough with the answers to my questions, and Dr. Aldo and her team of dental assistants were kind, compassionate, and needless to say, all my issues were addressed and I am back to pain free. TL;DR: The billing service that Bella Vita employs filed 2 insurance claims with incorrect billing…read moreinformation, which were denied by my insurance, and are refusing to update that info and resubmit the claim (as recommended by my insurance) and are leaving me with an outstanding $1167 bill. I was a patient with Bella Vita for about 5 years until I moved away last October. I decided to start Invisalign with them in May 2025 and paid my quoted amount ($2411) in full the day treatment started. To my surprise, in April 2026 I received a call that my claim had been denied by my insurance but they would help me out and file another claim that would hopefully be approved by Delta Dental but if that claim was denied, they would file an appeal for me. I got a text on May 11, 2026 that I had an outstanding balance that amounted to ~50% ($1167) of what I originally paid at the start of my treatment so I called to ask what happened and Emily at the front desk told that they filed an appeal for my denied claim but couldn't answer any insurance or billing questions due to the fact that their billing department is not done "in house" so they would have to relay all my questions to a separate service. The office also refused to give me any contact information for their billing department so I'm forced to play telephone with the office and their billing department but also said they could not tell me why my claims had been denied. I was, however, told that my benefits for ortho had been maxed out. I called my insurance immediately after that initial call and they told me that, no, my claim was not denied due to my coverage being maxxed out (it has not been at that point) but because there were errors with the billing information on the claims that were submitted. The insurance rep also notified me that they had no appeal on file, so either there is some technical issue on the insurance side or the office lied about filing an appeal for that 2nd denied claim. The insurance rep told me it was an easy fix and that the office's billing department just need to update that billing info, resubmit, and it should be approved. From May until August of this year, I've called 6 times asking for updates and relaying the message that all they have to do is update their incorrect billing info and resubmit the claim and it should be approved. Everytime I call, I'm met with "The claim was already filed and denied twice so there's not much we can do, but we'll ask the billing department again." I've tried asking for the practice manager and have been told "she's not at her desk but she will call you later" and I never receive that call. All in all, be wary of this place. Since their billing is not done in house, no one at the office can answer specific billing questions and refuse to give contact info for that billing office so you're forced to play telephone with them and their billing department if you ever have an insurance issue.
