We booked a photography session for our twin boys with Michael Kronos Photography, and it was hands-down one of the best experiences we've ever had. From start to finish, everything was organized to perfection. Weeks before the session, we received an incredibly thoughtful email with every detail we need--outfit suggestions, what to expect, and even questions about what our boys love so they could personalize the experience. That level of care and communication already set them apart. On the day of the shoot, everything was seamless. We were warmly greeted by Sophie, who is truly one of the most wonderful photographers we've ever worked with. She immediately helped us settle in and made the boys feel comfortable from the first moment. They had a little setup for the kids with small toys, treats, and water--simple touches that made a huge difference. The session lasted about 30 minutes, and we were amazed by how many beautiful photos we received. Even more surprising was how much our boys enjoyed the experience; they jumped right in with ideas for poses and stayed fully engaged the whole time. We've never seen them warm up to a new activity that quickly, and that speaks volumes about Sophie and the entire team. Let me start by saying I cannot wait until we can book our next session with them!! I had my little girl over a month early (she's healthy, don't worry!) and realized once we got home that I would really regret it if we didn't do newborn photos. I reached out to a few different photographers after reviewing online portfolios and crossed my fingers that someone could fit me in on very short notice. Thankfully, Sophie responded very quickly with availability just a few days later. I decided to do the studio session instead of the in home session since I had confidence their lighting would be better than ours and frankly, with a 10 day old baby, we weren't in a position to tidy up! Sophie and Becca were both at the studio when we arrived and we did a nice long feeding session with the baby before photos started so she'd be nice and sleepy. After a variety of poses by herself, which we had front row seats to watch, we also got to do our first photos as a new family. It was such a relaxing experience and Sophie and Becca created a wonderful environment. We had our sneak peak photos within a few days and the full set less than two weeks after our session (and more than 20 photos!). I had such a great experience working with Sophie! I did a newborn shoot after having to cancel my maternity shoot due to the early arrival of my daughter and the team was more than willing to accommodate me. The studio is super cute and has everything you need for your shoot which makes it completely stress free just arrive with baby and she'll guide you through the rest! Sophie did an amazing job of keeping the baby calm and quite to create the perfect images. She has a magic touch! Sophia and Becca did such a nice job with our family. They took hundreds of shots and came up with 20 expertly edited photos that captured the spirit of the summer that we wanted. Our whole family could use the gallery when the photos were complete, and we had full license to make a card. For the shoot itself, both of them creatively used props to make the scene natural. Sophia occupied our little one to make her stay engaged in the photo shoot. They were on time to the meet too. While the pricing is not cheap, the work product was great, and Becca's rate was reasonable in context. We also used a cut-price photog for our Christmas cards: photos were worse and we had no license. We got what we paid for and would use them again. read more

I did the in-studio maternity photo shoot with Michael Kormos Photography and it was an absolutely amazing experience. I was a little nervous as I didn't know what to expect and I'm not used to getting professionally photographed. Well I wasn't nervous for too long! My husband and I were greeted by both Anabella, the photographer, and Abby, the make up artist/stylist. Abby did an incredible job with my hair and makeup. I told her a little bit about what I was looking for, but honestly, I wasn't too descriptive. But she did exactly what I envisioned. It was perfect. The photographer, Anabella, was wonderful and so talented. She put me immediately at ease, was fun and upbeat the entire time, and literally told me exactly what to do. I felt so comfortable and had so much fun. Abby fixed my hair throughout the shoot and I had several outfit changes using their dresses/robes/fabrics, all of which were gorgeous. The pictures turned out absolutely beautiful. Anabella is so good at capturing the moment, playing with the light, and incorporating poses that are very flattering. I couldn't have asked for a better session or experience. I also want to mention how great and easy the booking experience was, as well as the prep for the actual shoot, which was managed by Sophie. My husband and I had a mini maternity session with Anabella. Her warm welcome made us to feel comfortable during the entire session. We were so nervous before coming to the studio since it was our first time taking portraits in the studio. However, Anabella made us to smile and laugh during the whole session. When I came across Michael Kormos Photography, what caught my attention was his style. I liked they way he played with light and shadows and made the person truly be a focal point of the photograph. Every image looked like a timeless piece of art. Michael has the ability to capture a perfect moment that conveys the emotion and the final image tells the story. From that point I new I wanted to be photographed by this kind of professional. When I enquired about the dates and the specifics of the maternity packages I received a very detailed email from Sophie. She answered all of my questions and was very responsive on any follow up questions after that with suggestions in regard to wardrobe for me and my husband , backgrounds, hair and makeup. The studio is conveniently located in Lower Midtown Chelsea area. They have a rack of garments to choose from for the photo session and a privacy screen with a mirror to change between the looks and retouch the makeup or hair. I thought that snacks and water was a nice personal touch. During the session Sophie and Michael guided me and my husband through the prompts for poses so that we knew what to do and how to achieve our vision for each look. They made us feel very comfortable throughout the session and turned it into a truly fun and bonding experience for this milestone period of our life. Shortly after the session we received unedited photos to choose our favorites and soon after we got touched up professional product from Michael and Sophie. This past Friday I entered my very own dreamworld of learning: I spent the day with Michael and Sophie Kormos doing a one-on-two mentorship with them. I'm a newborn and family photographer, and I was feeling I needed some guidance in turning my studio into something more sustainable. Well, spending the day with them was worth every penny! I have no doubt that the cost of the mentoring will quickly be covered with the knowledge they shared with me. I went with them to a newborn session, where Sophie taught me a super simplified version of creating a home studio. Where I bring six bags and suitcases of props and blankets and lighting, M&S bring one of gear and one of blankets/supplies. Michael and I shot the session in tandem, with him giving feedback on shots/composition and lighting along the way, even letting me try out some of his lenses (a true "is-this-really-happening/somebody pinch me" moment). I learned endless amounts about posing for newborns and parents, tricks for working with an unhappy big brother, and getting the most out of each pose to minimize the overall session time. After, Michael went over editing with me, which was truly a magical process. Sophie and Michael continuously gave me feedback and constructive criticism on my pricing, website, client exchanges, editing, etc. They answered any and every question I had - not one was off limits. I am inspired beyond anything I'd imagined when signing up for this mentorship. I am so very grateful that two talented, accomplished, and kind, professionals shared their knowledge and time with me. Sophie did an amazing job on our newborn photos. She was very patient with our baby when she took a while to fall asleep and worked her magic to keep her asleep through all the accessory and position changes. The pictures came out beautifully!
