It is not a good first impression. Now, with the rooms, the cleanliness is neutral, though it is not how I would prefer it to be. There are a few dirt stains on one of the bed's blankets, the inside of the sink in the bathroom is dirty, the rack where the towels are folded has unidentifiable stains on them, and the shower floor has what seems to be some dirt stains although that will wash off once the shower is turned on. There are also holes in one of the sets of blankets on one of the beds, as well as MULTIPLE random specks of black. More emphasis on the bathroom, the tub spout sounds and feels broken once you pull up on the diverter, and the shower head is at an angle where you have to wash your body a little tilted to the side. There is no way to fix it, although the sink is clean as well as the towels, and it is very spacious. The hair dryer does not work in any way. If you shower with warm water without turning the fan on, you WILL sweat. It gets VERY warm, so don't forget to turn the fan on. The room I am staying in is overall pretty clean other than the things I listed, but just not up to my standards, yet that also depends on the person. There are no overhead lights other than one above the front door, so you have to use lamps at night. There is a microwave and a fridge, and the only outlets are on the lamps other than in the bathroom. The room also includes a handy ironing board. Overall, I would have given the room a 2.5/5, but there's no option to halve the stars. So it's a 3. I may be being too critical, but it is just my opinion. I don't have any say on the kindness of the workers because I haven't interacted with them enough, nor do I have any say on the breakfast because I have not tried it. This rating is specifically for the room I have stayed in and nothing else.

Due to the unavailability of apartments we had a family member rent a room for 6 weeks…read more Upon registering and posting a $200 deposit we were told by Sandy Ryder to purchase our own linens, towels, pillows, comforter etc and return the motels to the office. She told us Bob Jandura the "manager" is know for keeping deposits pertaining to allegedly damaged dollar store materials they provide. We provided our own. Upon checking out I took 25 pictures of the pristine room, inside/outside of fridge all doors, bathroom, our 2 keys on the table. I wrote Bob Jandura a kind note and asked him to contact one of us pursuant to the $200 deposit. Never heard back. When I phoned him he declared it wasn't going to be returned. Upon hearing this I phoned Wilmington Mayor, Ben Dietz and spoke directly with him and the following day was at the Wilmington Police Department to file theft charges. Now we'll see them in court. Thieves.

Here's a quick rundown of the good and bad. The good was the checkin was quick and the desk agent friendly. Room was spacious and clean with lots of room. I particularly liked the kitchen with fridge and microwave. Bed was really comfy and nice. Loved the TV and selection of channels. Also, the hotel is walking distance to BP gas station with mini-mart (which comes in handy for soda, snacks and quick meals). Wendy's is also in walking distance, behind hotel. Now the bad ... the room itself smelled of mold. Mind you, this is a new hotel but it had a bad mold smell. I also spotted mold on the tissue box. Upon touching, it was wet. Was there a leak at some point? Finally, I seriously believe the hotel may be haunted. I've never written this in a review but am now. Throughout the night, my bedroom door mysteriously opened (even after closing to the sound of a "click"). I also heard the sounds of rattling chains and howls. These WERE NOT from dogs or other pets. I was in a corner suite with no neighbor. This hotel is located next to a well known haunted cemetery (it's behind the Dunk'n Donuts across the street from this property). They had the option to pick that on the website! Checking in was a breeze. Early check in was also notified to us the day prior and on the drive there. My husband made a call to them asking if we can have two rooms connected and they were very accommodating. They didn't promise but they delivered. Customer service was very satisfactory. We not only were able to have connected rooms for our family, they placed us in a corner of the hotel away from other patrons. That was very thoughtful of them. Rooms were very roomy and clean. Beds were extra comfortable. Bathrooms were very nice. The double Queen room was bigger than our king size room. Free breakfast is served!! Wow I find that a total rarity these days. We didn't get to enjoy a free breakfast since we went to a nearby IHOP but next time we will. My kids LOVED the pool. Excellent size and there was a hot tub. The water temp for both was great! We were able to swim very late (10:00pm) and woke up early to swim again (8:00am). Overall it was a wonderful weekend stay. No hassles and very pleasant. I'm very pleased we picked this hotel rather than any other in Morris, Illinois. It makes me want to research and try Holiday Inn in other cities.

The staff is always very friendly and helpful and this is what truly has us coming back. The breakfast is quite decent and great selection of foods (eggs, waffles, bagels, yogurt, breakfast sandwiches etc). They do have a small workout room (weights , a couple treadmills and an elliptical ). Their pool is on the smaller side but is never crowded. Location wise, it is right by the adventure commons If you are there for a sporting event. The mall (which has a movie theater) is right across the parking lot along with a couple restaurants. If you are in the area for an event- I would recommend staying at the Fairfield Inn!
