So, as a gift to my wife and I for our respective birthdays this month, one of the gifts we received were to enjoy an overnight stay at Sybaris! When we got the here, the room wasn't ready, but the young lady that helped us out was nice enough to extend our stay by a few hours. Can you dig it!! We were in the Chalet suite and it was magnificent! Pool, jacuzzi...loved them! Matter of fact, they're not kidding...when they say this is a getaway for two, they mean it. Not to mention...probably the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in. Only improvements I'd suggest is upgrading the audio/visual systems. Such a nice experience, very relaxing! My boyfriend & I drove from Minnesota, a 6 hour drive because we wanted the Chalet Suite for our anniversary and the one closer to us was booked for the days we selected. Check in is at 6PM, late but understandable. We arrived there around 5PM, our room was not ready yet which was not a problem. Waited about 45-60 minutes, came back and it was ready for us, they give you a garage clicker to enter into the Chalet Suite, you have your own personal garage which is very nice, especially for colder weather. They do have security guards on the property, you can't get to the suites unless you go through the gate, gives you a somewhat safe feeling. But walking into the suite was very relaxing, they had the pool all lit up for us, the water running down the slide, everything made looking very nice, and ready to jump into the pool immediately! Walking up the stairs and seeing through all the glass windows into our room, the bed with rose petals, a rose, & chocolates made it feel much more romantic. You have your own little microwave and fridge, ice already in the freezer. Very convenient. Highly recommend if you are staying a few days, bring breakfast foods, plan some lunches, and snacks. We did that to save a bit more money! Big countertops, lots of space. Double sinks. Toilet, shower, and bidet all in one room. They do have a Keurig and give you some pods, as well as creamer/sugar! Whirlpool in your room, right next to the bed. And even two massage chairs, I also felt like they provided so much lighting which I appreciate a lot! Even light under the bed, a red light above the bed, in corners you wouldn't expect. I would definitely stay here again, you have so many shops within 10 minutes of you, A LOT of food spots. You are also 40 minutes away from Chicago if you wanted to go into the city. The only reason I give it 4 stars is because the cleanliness of the room. Don't get me wrong, not dirty to the point of me not staying in it, but my boyfriend and I did find a lot of hair that was not ours. As well as pubic hair. I am personally not bothered by hair because I use to work in hospitality, nothing a little water can't flush down the drain or a napkin pick up. Very clean, other than the hair we did find. They were very nice people though, they called me every morning and asked if I needed anything from housekeeping, and what time maintenance could come by and check on our pool. All easy people to talk to, very nice! I would 100% come again, and would probably have to have the Chalet Suite again! Expensive, but so worth! read more

How do you describe paradise? My husband and I have visited several times, but our recent trip last week was the first time we got a pool suite. We cannot wait to go back! Yes, the rooms are a little pricey, but if you sign up for their email offers, they frequently send information on discounts. Also, you never need to leave the room. My suggestion is to bring food and order in. You're not going to want to leave. The rooms are always clean and fairly well maintained. I originally booked the Deluxe Whirlpool for my partner's birthday. I got an email about an upgrade and decided to book the Paradise Swimming suite with a 2pm check out. This was great because we didn't get there until 1 am. The room was amazing! Everything was clean and the room was warm, smelled good, and was larger than expected. I loved everything about it, especially the view from the bed with the fireplace on. I was impressed by the sound system and DVD/radio set up. It felt like we were the only people in the world. Time was passing and we had no idea. There are no windows so it's definitey like a bunker. We enjoyed the hot tub, waterfall, and steam shower. People say it's dated and needs upgrading but it was cool to me. I will definitely be back very soon! read more

I couldn't be more excited or feel more safe during this crazy "Corona Time." It's always so clean every time we go, I've never even found so much as a hair in the shower drain. Plus, being closed off from the crazy world outside for a weekend in a room with one steel door and no windows sounds about as "social distanced" as one can get, even more so than my own home! From there we retired to the Sybaris where the ambiance is perfectly created for and supportive of a romantic night of intimacy. If you're stressed out and need to relax before connecting, this setting provides for both. The only thing missing is a walking trail and park for a romantic walk and a little pda. This is the ULTIMATE in local erotic getaways for couples (and they are strict about the couples part, don't try to make this into a party room, they're monitoring with cameras; you will get thrown out). My new husband and I spent two fantastic nights here in September, 2014 for a mini - honeymoon. What a great experience! At first we pulled in to the parking lot on a Sunday afternoon and wondered what we were in for after seeing a scrungy character driving into the compound of suites. But the pictures in the brochure and reviews on Yelp lifted our spirits and hopes again quickly. We were greeted in the office by a friendly and helpful young lady who said our paradise suite would be available by 5 pm and gave us tips to kill time as well as places to eat out or have delivered. Once in the suite, we were instantly impressed. We have stayed in some nice hotels and this place was easily as clean if not cleaner. Two soft robes awaited as well as a private pool with waterfall, hot tub, steam room, fireplace and massage chair. A friend had arranged for a bottle of champagne plus there were rose petals on the bed and a box of chocolate covered strawberries in the fridge. It was a private paradise. The lighting options are impressive. Pool lights only, bright sunlight, under bed lighting, red mood lights over the bed, nightlight only, etc. Whatever your mood. Our suggestions to you are to check in the moment you are allowed because you will want to maximize every moment here. You may also want to bring snacks unless you truly want a break from paradise. There are plenty of stores for groceries nearby. They have a nice sound system and had a great local radio station but if you want to customize, you can plug in your smart phone or bring cd's. They also have a DVD player if you want to bring your own movies. Come here if you want a secluded atmosphere that let's you enjoy a loved ones company and forget the rest of the world. read more

I took my boyfriend here for a birthday getaway and we were not disappointed. We are a very romantic couple,but this kicked romance to a notch I didn't know existed. We stayed in the paradise sweet overnight and it truly was paradise. The bed wasn't the most comfortable ,but we were so exhausted after being in the hot tub and the pool that we could have fallen asleep on the floor. The mirror over the bed with the red lighting is amazing. The room was very clean and had a nice pleasant smell. Loved the music system. We honeymooned at Syberis in the Majestic room! The bed was so comfortable we slept so well! The pool and hot tub areas as well as steam shower was very clean. Inloved the "stress free" from bath and body works shower gel and lotion! We also had a jaccuzi tub in the room. We watched a movie while soaking. The floor of it though was pretty uncomfortable on the bottom. In the pool area there was a bit of rust on the shower that comes down into the room but other than that, the place was very well kept, even with a dehumidifier! The room did not smell like pool. (If I was to do this again, we would probably opt for the room without the Jacuzzi in the room, just the pool and hot tub were enough for sure!) We also opted to have a couples massage after the stress of wedding planning. The actual massage was pretty good but they were over an hour late. We just sat there waiting. I actually had to call the front desk rather than someone calling me proactively. But I was happy with out massage when we had them. They did apologize many times for their lateness. The hotel gave us options of places that deliver to the hotel for food so we didn't have to go out often. We took our roku with us, which I was thankful for as the channels were not just regular hotel like channels (there were some of them), but some "adult" channels as well, which we weren't really interested in. Roku made it easy! Overall we loved our time at the hotel! It was such a great honeymoon time to relax and just take it easy together. read more

My husband and I stayed here overnight for our honeymoon, and it was one of the most fantastic experiences we've had together (outside of our wedding day). We had the Paradise Suite and honestly, we couldn't imagine going with the Majestic and Chalet - seems like it would be too large for our comfort. Anyway - our suite was recently remodeled and the setting was cozy and private. Beautiful lighting throughout the place, a humongous bed with soft pillows and a relaxing mattress, the shower was relaxing (I just enjoyed letting the water stream over my hair). The pool area was warm - no damp, clammy feeling to it, with the steam room overlooking the pool. The steam room also had a huge shower head with four other smaller water outlets that gave you a full body spray. You could definitely put on a show for your significant other while he/she is in the pool or hot tub! I really liked the way I could see my husband throughout the place (of course the bathroom is in a private area), while I enjoyed certain areas of the suite by myself. You will definitely lose track of the time and almost find that when you're just warming up to all the amenities - it's check-out time. Here are the cons: Limited TV selections; only one serving of coffee; one of the "adult" channels malfunctioned and stayed frozen in one frame; no plates/utensils available for if you order delivery (we had to use paper towels for our pizza). But you can sort of overlook the cons, because it's still a heavenly experience. Keep in mind: Refrigerators are provided with ice, so bring snacks/food/beverages and utensils. If you love coffee, bring that as well. There are also microwaves. Thank goodness my husband brought two pair of flip-flops, because I didn't think of them. They have blue-ray disc players, so feel free to bring your own movies (we didn't think to bring any). There was also a CD player (we brought no CDs). When we go back (and we WILL be back!), I will make time to enjoy the pool/hot tub/steam room/porn more. Since it was our honeymoon, there was more of a focus on other things - which was alright - but I would like to go back for relaxation / recreation as the goal. read more

My wife and I have stayed at the Sybaris a number of times over the 10 years we've been together, but it's been a few years since we've been - so we figured it was time to go again! We recently stayed at the Frankfort Sybaris around Thanksgiving time. We got a good deal on the Majestic Pool Suite and let me tell you - this place has really turned around since last time we stayed. Not that there was anything wrong with it before, however you could tell the rooms needed a bit of updating. Rooms were clean, but just out of date. When you walk in you're greeted with the familiar smell of an indoor pool. Not overwhelming, but very inviting. The room was immaculately clean and finished to the last detail - robes were presented nicely on the bed. Towels were clean and wrapped with a ribbon. Two Andes mints were placed nicely on the small dining table. The fireplace was on and the local jazz station was playing on the radio. You immediately see the 22' indoor swimming pool with attached hot tub. Next to your bed is a separate whirlpool tub large enough for two, a massage chair, and some kind of funky curvy lounge chair. There's buttons and switches all over the room to control various lighting - direct, indirect, mood lighting, starlights over the bed - lighting for every mood. Technology wise, the rooms have received a huge update over our previous stay - there's a Blu-Ray player connected to the 46" LED TV. The A/V receiver controls sound all over the suite and not only has an Aux input cable but supports Bluetooth streaming audio - We were able to to take our iPad out to the pool deck and stream our music through the room sound system. Wi-Fi is also available in suite and was very fast (15Mbps+) which made for a great streaming experience. The only drawback is that the TV choices are somewhat odd. They offer a few premium movie channels (HBO, Showtime, and some adult programming) however all other channels come in over antenna - not only limiting choices but the signal goes in and out. But you're not there to watch TV anyway, so it's not a huge deal breaker... Little details like USB charging outlets are in the wall right next to your bed. The Sybaris has really stepped up their technologoy game in the past few years. The private indoor pool is what really sets this suite apart from simply staying at a nice hotel with a whirlpool. Your imagination is the only limit as to the amount of fun you can have with this. Not to worry though, as there are no windows in the suite so feel free to let loose with your inhibitions. Some tips: There's a few places that will deliver dinner and breakfast, and Frankfort has some nice dining options as well. However, if you stay during the week be sure to order early as a lot of the options stop taking orders nearing 9:00P. Bring some of your own snacks and drinks. A refrigerator/freezer with ice and coffee pot are provided. Don't forget to bring dessert! Bring a movie as well as your own digital music (i.e. phone with your music collection or your Pandora station.) Oh, and don't pack too many clothes - you won't be needing them. Seriously, I can't recommend the Sybaris enough. It's definitely not an everyday thing but when we stayed there this time I asked my wife why we don't do this at least once a year.Nothing beats swimming in your own private pool when it's 20 degrees outside! When you get in your suite and close the door, you're literally in your own little world shut out from everything else - it's just you and your partner enjoying a little slice of paradise for the duration of your stay. read more

Great time can't wait to go back. We went for one of the weekday afternoon stays, originally I thought that wouldn't be enough time to fully enjoy it. Wrong, it was excellent. Bring your own, food, cds, dvds, etc. We had rose petals laying on the bed, the pool and Jacuzzi were warm. The room was clean and we had no issues. We even jumped back into the pool when it was almost time to go, lights off with just the fireplace on, too romantic we stayed in there with 15mins to spare but we made it to checkout in time.
