She tried her best to meet my needs while I was 3 hours away for college. For that reason, I was grateful. However, I was misdiagnosed as Bipolar by Dr Itoro. During the 1.5 years I was treated, I chose to believe the diagnosis because I was desperate to return to my original self. I followed every guideline and suggestion. Took every pill, even when I felt emotionally worse, gained 30 lbs in 2 months, sickly, yeast infections, and my flawless skin turned cystic (rolling scars to this day). In an attempt to be a 5 star patient, I joined a Bipolar support group. It was during those weekly sessions that I realized, I was unlike the 30 regular attendants. So much so, the group leaders and the group consistenly inquired about my diagnosis, believing I was NOT bipolar. From there, I sought out other professional opinions. Not two, three, or four, but seven! Each and every one told me to immediately stop my medication for it was doing more damage than good. 1 month after stopping all medication, the depressive cloud faded, acne cleared, chronic sickness haulted, and I began to lose weight without trying. I felt balance the best I could be for having Post Traumatic Stress (my REAL problem which is in a good place now). A few months after stopping the medication, I tried to schedule an appointment with Dr Itoro to explain what happened, and ask questions. Her response was to find a new doctor since I did not see her during the last 3 months.... Lesson learned- seek mutiple opinions before signing up to prescription drugs. It will be three years come February since I stopped all medications prescribed by her (AND from anyone else). I STILL have reactions from those drugs.

She's a psychiatrist, not a therapist, but she talks to me! And she listens! She has told me things about the meds I've been on for 16 years that I never learned in the 12 years I was on them before beginning to work with her - about interactions with OTC drugs and possible long-term side-effects - and she is extremely diligent about monitoring for these effects via asking questions and ordering regular blood tests. Dr. Ibia asks incisive questions about my life to determine whether anything medically significant is going on, while at the same time being warm, supportive, and nonjudgmental. Her stated goal is to keep me in a place where my symptoms are being managed - not just where I'm surviving them - and she strikes what I perceive to be an excellent balance in being willing to "tweak" my meds to deal with changes in my mental health, without reaching for drugs as a solution to everything. She is competent and caring and extremely concerned that I am getting the most helpful care possible. Possibly the best doctor - not just psychiatrist - I've ever had.

In retrospect, I should have realized booking therapy sessions all upfront on the phone and being told to send through Apple Pay was a red flag. I have never been to any professional therapist that offers Apple Pay, there is usually an online portal or invoices sent to the client. YOU gave me that option, and I'm sure other clients of yours can attest to that fact. I have never texted you saying our work was "amazing". I have every single text exchange, and if you continue to say things that are untrue I will post them. I would never say that because I did not believe our sessions were amazing, which is why I asked for the refund on the third session. You still haven't refunded me for the last session that was never completed due to the fact that I refuse to sign intake paper work and consent after the fact. I didn't trust it and I am glad I didn't because you are using this as a way to keep my money. As a professional who should be responsible for their own liability, you should have never moved forward without the proper paperwork. As it stands, you basically took my money without offering the full service. I still stand by the fact that this was the most unprofessional experience I have ever had and has deterred me from seeking out this specific type of therapy in the future. I would not agree that you are rooted in ethics. Update: Due to the fact that I paid Irit through Apple Pay, I cannot dispute these services. NEVER do business through Apple Pay, Zelle or Cashapp. I've reported this business to the Better Business Bureau for deceptive advertising and business practices. I believe there is a reason she conducts business through Apple Pay and it is for this exact reason. I fell victim to it but I urge anyone who comes across this review to STAY CLEAR OF THIS BUSINESS. She still has not refunded for the session I did not receive. I'm highly disappointed in the way Irit chose to handle me requesting a refund for a service I did not receive. I had not had the time to submit or sign any forms or contract, but she had proceeded with sessions without me having signed anything. This mistake ended up working in my favor. She is now saying she will only refund me after I sign a contract which makes no sense since we will not be doing business together anymore. I told her I would sign a contract that had an addendum stating that it only pertains to the 2 sessions I had done with her, and not the 3rd session I did not get. She refused. I would strongly suggest not doing business with her because she is quite expensive and does not show integrity when it comes to customer service or handling your money. Only one of the 2 sessions I had done with her felt like actual hypnosis, the first session I was not put into any hypnotic state (she called it "verbal hypnosis"). I told her I will be filing a dispute through my bank and she threatened legal action even though she had agreed to refund me once she realized I had never signed her contract (and tried to coerce me into signing it via phone call before issuing said refund).Be careful when doing business with her. I have screenshots and a recording of our phone call to back all of this up.

I'm a huge skeptic and even though I went in there with the idea in mind "this won't work for me", it actually did. I didn't hear anyone, except one guy, say they "didn't feel anything." The guy who complained was asking odd questions the whole time and taking notes. (Example of an odd question, "Can I drink coffee all day instead of water?" I'm sure that's exactly what Michael Phelps drinks all day when he's training, coffee.) When I left, my husband asked me how it went and I said fine, except I think there was a blogger or something there writing an article. Which is fine, except in a setting where you need to feel comfortable, he was a huge distraction. I think the weird note taker guy even asked her at one point could she do magic. Magic? Like, pull a rabbit out her pocket? Other than that it went well and I saw people at the end signing up for more sessions. I've recommended hypnosis (specifically Irit) to every single one of my friends since I've been. I even told one friend in Virginia Beach that it was worth the weekend trip. If it doesn't work for you, then it doesn't. I spent my money on it and I'm pleased with my results. Did I cluck like a chicken, no, but I have shed some pounds.

The report was written in the novelistic way that disclosed all kinds of things that had been given with the belief that details would be kept private. It has been almost a year since I stopped seeing her although, I still feel angry over her treatment of me and her therapeutic techniques. I wanted to let people know of my concerns so they can avoid the emotional turmoil that I experienced. I hate to say it, but it was almost like emotional abuse. For a vulnerable individual, seeking therapy, her therapeutic techniques are very inappropriate and can cause more damage to your well-being. I still mention the horrible treatment that this therapist gave me to my friends and current therapist. I strongly encourage you to reconsider seeing Theresa, as there are so many great therapists out there. Many of her techniques violate the NASW Code of Ethics, and put her at risk of losing her LCSW license.
