I was on off-season rates and charged $136 per night and at the same time the rates were $94 per night on booking.com which we accidentally discovered while at the hotel because a few other places caught our eye for the next trip. When asking the owner's wife at check-out about this, we got a lot of 'not my department' excuses. While I appreciate the unique decor of each room and that they are clean, any extras you may require have to be sought after from the office, like a hair dryer. What if we had wanted to leave before the office opened at 8:00? I also think most accommodations in the area are "family owned".

Excellent room actually roomy for a 1 queen bed room. We stayed in the garden room. All rooms have a seperate theme. It was beautiful. The only thing missing is a/c, not super surprising because the beach doesn't usually get too hot.

Rooms are tiny but clean and not crammed or cluttered, so you can actually move around the floor without dodging furniture (or your roommate). Beds are comfortable and I love that they had a spare blanket and 2 more (firmer) pillows in room. And thank you, for having real hangers for my coat and shirts. Those stupid anti-theft hangers rarely slide quietly or smoothly and drive me nuts when trying too get the hangers on and off of the permanently attached loop at those chain hotels. We stayed in an upstairs no-pet room, with single queen bed. It would be fun to see each of the other room themes. Friendly guy at check in. He gave us all the information we asked for regarding places to eat, so we had a goal in mind, once we woke up. Safeway grocery store was only about a mile North of us, so we could grab a 6-pack of non alcoholic beer and a bunch of snack food at 9:45pm, before settling into bed to watch the first hour of a loaner VHS tape of Alfred Hitchcock's Rear Window. Affordable comfort, good Wi-Fi reception, friendly staff, coffee, Stash Tea and an upright piano in lobby were a nice touch. My only 3 complaints: 1. I was forced to wash my hands &/or face with cold water in bathroom sink, unless I let it run for about 45-69 seconds (Pet Peeve of mine). 2. The annoyance-noise (could hear a neighbor's TV playing through the thin walls, and also the mini-fridge & wall heater that kept kicking on & off, were a bit distracting while trying to get to sleep.). 3. Wall plugs by bed were so loose our tiny USB chargers for phones, barely stayed plugged in (mine fell out of wall in the dark and that was no fun!) My boyfriend's only complaint was that he thought the shower curtain wasn't mounted right (or tub too narrow?) He felt like his shoulders were either touching the shower curtain or wall his entire shower, and he is just shy of 6', 204 lbs, and only wears a large or XL shirt; (he's not exactly a linebacker.) I/ we don't usually stay in Seaside, but that could change, so long as we don't need a full kitchen and more space. Sometimes you just want comfort & no-frills without it feeling like your staying in a kid's backyard fort. I was on a tight budget this trip, because I've been off work on FMLA for 2 months, and it was so nice and comfortable, that I'd stay again, even after I'm back to work, and will be able to afford a 4-star hotel!

An absolutely wonderful time. I went out to Hug Point, had a beautiful time, and came back to a nice quiet room where I fell asleep to the sounds of the ocean. And they even gave me a bottle of sparkling cider because it was my birthday! Would absolutely go again!

Pros: friendly service, close to beach, close to Prom, close to excellent resturants, small grocery across the street, golfing and hiking near by, themed rooms Cons: Freezing room (the heater did not seem to work), hard mattress

My room, the dog friendly queen bed.

Again, good time. Love it was pet friendly. Agreeing with other reviewers extremely friendly staff. House keeping lady was very sweet. I am sure I will come back... Downfall... Thin walls. Felt bad when my pup barked early in the morning

Had the pleasure of staying here Aug 25-29. We arrived by motorcycle and parking was great. I have stayed in some high end hotels but, this by far was the cleanest & well kept. Each room has a theme and ours was Paris. It is located 23mins from the main tourist area but, the walk is along the Promenade with the ocean as your companion.

This place is pretty dang cute. I was looking for a cheaper place and this inn is a decent price. The rooms are clean and have themes. My biggest complaint is something that is my fault. I thought it was closer to downtown. It's actually a pretty far walk. It is really close to the beach itself though which is nice. It's also across the street from a small market place and a restaurant/pub with amazing food. The rooms are a bit cramped is you get the one bed rooms. Smaller than I thought. They have pet friendly rooms at an extra cost. There is free WiFi in the rooms and lobby. :-)

Those guests, together with hotel staff, removed our personal belongings and took them to the front desk without our knowledge or permission. When we returned, we were told there was nothing the hotel could do because it was "an error in their booking system." That's not an excuse--it's the hotel's responsibility to manage its reservations without violating guests' privacy and security. I contacted Booking.com, and they reached out to the hotel on our behalf. We requested a refund since strangers had been allowed into our room and had handled our personal belongings. The hotel refused, claiming they weren't responsible because the mistake was caused by their online booking system. Blaming your own system instead of taking responsibility is unacceptable. To make matters worse, the staff was completely unprofessional and showed no concern for what had happened. There was no apology, no accountability, and no attempt to make the situation right. We paid nearly $600 for a single night, only to have our privacy violated and our belongings handled by strangers. If a hotel is willing to let other people into your occupied room because of an internal mistake, how can anyone feel safe staying there? Avoid this hotel. If they can let strangers into your room once, they can do it again.

We were met by a gentleman who showed us a room and we liked it so we agreed to stay. Then he said he was not the person to check in with. He gave us the email of the owner and he allowed us to stay in the room until we got checked in. We laid down on top of the bed just to rest a bit. Little did we know that someone else rented the room on line and the owner didn't respond to our email. She came back to the inn and rented us a remote room in another building. Our mistake was not checking out the room before hand and just taking it. It was an interesting two story old duplex. Old as in interesting and quirky. I loved that it had a kitchen and couldn't imagine what it was like to live there back in the day. Anyway the bedroom is upstairs - very steep short stairs and the only bathroom is downstairs. As I am of an age where I need to get up at least once a night to use the facilities, I didn't feel safe walking down the stairs half awake. Thank goodness the couch was very comfortable downstairs. While checking out the space there was a door across the hall from the bedroom about 2 feet above the ground. We opened the door and was surprised to see another bedroom - there was a little ladder inside that would have allowed an easy climb into the room. Breakfast was in the main building, just help yourself to drinks or wrapped bakery items. Also yogurt and other goodies.
