Let me start by saying. I'm concierge key with America Airlines, ambassador with Marriott and diamond reserve with Hilton. My father n law wanted to stay her and my wife and I pulled up. Little nervous. We have not stayed in a motel in 15+ years. Most of our stay have a spa. My point is... it was VERY clean!!!! Loved the small town hospitality! Stopped in here on a recent mini vacation along the coast after the Shilo pointed us there (the Shilo had no rooms left). I'm glad we ended up here, it was a great little hotel. Seems kind of unassuming on the exterior, we weren't expecting much but needed a place to sleep. It was late so we were happy they were even up to greet us. The man at the counter was very friendly and helpful, got us checked in and pointed to our room with no trouble. Like I said, we weren't expecting much, but the room was really very nice. It had a logging camp / woodsy sort of décor to it with rustic bed frames and headboard made to look like barn doors. It was really quite nice. I would definitely stay here again without a doubt. And in my opinion it was reasonably affordable too, which was also nice. read more

South Jetty is one of our favorite places to stay when we visit the Astoria area. The rooms are tastefully theme decorated, so it feels more like you're staying at a friend's home instead of a motel. Had a really lovely week-long stay with my mom to visit my grandparents in Warrenton. South Jetty Inn is the perfect choice to stay, super clean and feels like home! I love the little beachy whale details in the room and full size shampoo bottles and face wash to use during the stay. The owners are very welcoming and accommodating, we told them we didn't need our room cleaned every day but noticed our towels were still being replaced and even set up two wine glasses next to a bottle we had out-- so thoughtful and sweet and just the right touch! Very nice motel in the sleepy town of Hammond, Oregon. Close enough to Astoria but not near the tourist zone. It's a short walk to Fort Stevens, a great local State Park. Huge elk are walking around on the road, a short distance from the motel. Rooms are clean and cozy with comfortable beds and a huge flat screen with Roku. We were able to get access to our Amazon account to watch Downton Abbey. No breakfast was provided but there is a coffee service in the room, plus refrigerator. read more

I really enjoyed my room at The South Jetty Inn. I love the comfortable king size bed and the dog-friendly room is adorable with dog portraits on the walls. The owners really put some personal touches in the room to make it feel like home: coffee maker, snacks, fluffy towels, robes, hand made furniture and full size toiletries to use. They also give access to binge-able internet tv like Netflix and Hulu. I'd definitely stay here again, great amenities at a reasonable price. read more

Such a great spot! Small-town charm with impressive attention to detail. Had a chance to chat with the husband & wife owners/operators - andrea and Charlie. Wonderful people and they've been making signficant improvements and renovations since purchasing the hotel in '19. Their dedication and pride in their business is very evident in their willingness to make sure their guests and comfortable and happy. Andrea was quick to provide us a fan for the room since I sleep hot at night. And we'd see Charlie working on various improvements & renovations thru out the day as we would come and go from the beach. This is the epitome of a small business success story!! This was a fantastic little inn to stay at. The rooms inside are absolutely incredible looking, very nautical themed. They have a fire pit where we roasted hotdogs and marshmallows. The owner has a wonderful and friendly dog Luna. We didn't see any but was told elk will routinely wonder near the back of the inn. We had a nice 1 night stay here. The staff were very helpful and responsive to our requests. They had a little trouble finding our rservation and therefore had to give us a different room but it was an upgrade so I am not complaining. The room was newly remodeled and had a country rustic decor which we really liked. The lighting in the room was a little dim but no big deal. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others. Do not expect a lavish 5 star experience. Do expect a clean and comfortable rustic decor room with a helpful staff. read more

For the price, eh. The walls have no insulation so my poor husband was poked and pushed all night long because of his snoring...but it was the guy next door! The king-sized bed is comfy but was hand built and has a huge gap on the headboard that 3 pillows fell through! The cars of guests are parked right outside the room windows and some ding-dong keeps hitting the lock button on his key fob, making his darned truck honk repeatedly! There is a great restaurant next door that we have lived for years. That's a plus! read more

Yes, this is a fine place to find peace and rest for a weekend. I had intended to stay in Astoria and explore the region, but decided on this tiny fishing town of Hammond and adjacent Warrenton and their nice beaches versus the highway setting of comparably priced lodging in Astoria. I had extremely convenient access to Fort Stephens, the jetty, the shipwreck, the beaches, the Columbia fishing scene, trail systems, local flower farms and more than I could get to seeing. We climbed Saddle Mountain nearby one day and I was able to see all the Astoria sights I had on my list. Greg checked me in early, promptly and without hassle. He ensured I ended up in one of his more recent remodels that had unique character and style with wooden floors and a bit of fishing decor. The place was clean and all operated very well. It was very pleasant to wake up to a sleepy fishing town during my weekend versus a crowded tourist portal of traffic. This location is well positioned to reach Astoria, Seaside and beyond. You do not have to be a fisherman to hang out at the South Jetty. read more

Under new ownership, this sweet little motel offered an essential respite to us and other families evacuating from wildfire zones with our pups. The proprietors were very friendly and solicitous, doing everything they could to help us in our bad situation. The room was clean and comfortable, with original and attractive decor. Everything was in in working order and well-maintained. Sound insulation between rooms seemed excellent. Be prepared for poor cell phone coverage; and hopefully the owners will be able to boost WiFi strength so folks in all rooms can stay connected. read more

If I could give it lower I would. Stayed an extended period was charged 850. For a king size bed. Was only allowed to stay in this room for about a week and a half. This room was fairly nice and enjoyable. 2am on my first day of work, we get a knock on the door. We were told we were getting moved in the morning because we were being too loud. Didn't know a sleeping person could be too loud but that's just me right? Our new room has blood stain on the mattresss, sweat or urine as well. Two horrible mattresses.... As I'm cleaning up about a week in here I find a needle cap and bottles under the bed... Mildew smell and the curtain covered in it Discussed a discount or money back type thing. Older, small place, that they are remodeling the rooms. We stayed in 2 different rooms because we extended our stay later t in the day. The rooms are nice clean theme based rooms. One was fishing decor and the other hunting dogs, another we saw was sea based. The staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms clean and quiet. The mattresses were firm but comfortable. We chose this Inn because of it's location and it's rates are half the prices of hotels in Astoria. It's a nice little hotel. We didn't get one of the "updated" rooms but that's ok because we preferred the ground floor with our dog and infant son. The bed wasn't the most comfortable but my bed at home is a memory foam mattress so it's hard to compare. The room was clean, decent size. Did have a microwave, fridge and nice little flat screen tv. I was unimpressed with their customer service. The two phone calls I made to get prices and finally reserve my room were more hassle than I'd like. First the woman wasn't in the office and said she'd call me back but never did. Then when I called to reserve my room she almost talked me out of it and into a suite since we had 4 people but then proceeded to tell me the suite wasn't available for my dates! Why tell me about it at all if it's not available! Then when we got there to check in the guy was disoriented somehow and couldn't find our reservation on their hand written calender until I helped him flip the page to the right date. When we got in our room there was a menu for a diner with the same name as the Inn, yet we were not told where this was. Luckily it was just across the street and down a little ways so we could see it from the parking lot. Overall a good place to stay if you don't plan on doing anything but sleeping and showering in your room. Great location! Close to the State Park, the beach, Astoria and Seaside. I'd stay here again but maybe bring an air mattress to put on top of the bed. :) read more

My wife and I wanted to visit Fort Stevens and in searching for places close by, found this one. It's within biking distance to Fort Stevens so we rode down checking out the Battery Russel and park. We went to dinner in Astoria and after drove on the beach and caught the Peter Iredale shipwreck right at sunset. The location of this place is a gem as you're driving a good 10-15 minutes more from Astoria to the beach. The room was neat and clean and had everything we needed. Apparently this is also a pet friendly hotel but we wouldn't have ever noticed! The water pressure in the showers was especially nice having some sand stuck on me from the beach. The owners were very nice and made us feel welcome. They were very knowledgable about the area and other things to check out. My wife and I want to try out clamming so are planning on coming back and staying here once the season opens again. Loved this place! read more

I think this motel is very well kept and has amazing decor. They provide you with a microwave, fridge, coffee maker and creamer, hairdryer and shampoo. All the necessities you need. But one thing I hope they add in the future to make a better stay for other people is soap bar and conditioner. Other than that I love how much space you have in just one room. We stayed here this Memorial Day weekend. It was great. Reasonably quiet and clean. Lots of tobacco and marijuana smoke coming in through our windows though. Nonetheless, we would definitely stay here again. Restaurant across the street The Bouy was fantastic! I had a crab omelette. read more

I stayed here last year and liked the place, but it's hard describe the difference these two have made to the place, it is just incredible! The South Jetty is a quiet friendly place to stay. The Inn services the local community and caters to the sport salmon fishing and tourist business that come to Hammond for its proximity to Fort Stevens and the Columbia River Bar. The Inn is right next door to the classic Buoy 9 (a play on the famous fishing location in the Columbia River, buoy 10) and the South Jetty Dinning Room/Bar is access the street. Both have local seafood and homestyle cooking. This is the land of Salmon, Crab Crab and more Crab and razor and butter clams. The Inn is within walking distance of the Hammond Marina. A great value with nice hard working proprietors. I will stay here when I'm in the area. read more

A little shopworn ( we were in 1 of 2 rooms not yet remodeled), but clean and comfortable. The staff is friendly and helpful. I think they cater to the many fishermen putting in a buoy 10. For the reasonable price it is a nice, quiet get away. We had a good night's sleep. read more

Special find. Last minute trip to escape the heat a couple of weeks ago and wanted to spend a day at Fort Stevens and needed a nearby hotel. This was perfect! Right next door to the park and only 5 minutes outside Astoria. Extremely popular with the fisherman but very quaint and ideal for anyone. Clean, cute little fire pit area for kicking back in the evening (firewood included) and next door to a dive bar with great food. Price was excellent. Management currently updating rooms one at a time between vacancies. We stayed in one that wasn't done yet but were invited to view one of the upgraded rooms and it was as good as a boutique hotel. Super friendly staff, definitely recommend! I know we will be back for sure. read more
