Would NOT recommend! There is a new owner. The former owner/seamstress was fantastic to work with. This one is not! Poor-quality work. They said they would make it right by reimbursing the bridesmaid dresses that were ruined, and then they went back on their word. They do not have integrity! I came here based on a friend's recommendation, as she has been going here for years and always had great experiences. I was hoping for the same, but unfortunately, this was my first and last visit. I brought in a custom performance outfit that includes detailed beadwork, structured fabrics, and multiple components something that can be challenging to alter if you're not familiar with how these garments are constructed. I explained what I needed adjusted for my daughter's outfit. When the owner suggested folding and sewing over the shoulder area due to the lack of a seam, I felt hesitant but continued to listen as she pinned adjustments using safety pins. After thinking it through, I decided to hold off and possibly return on a later day. When I communicated that, the owner responded, "why did you waste my time?" I was caught off guard, as that was never my intention. I apologized, but her demeanor quickly changed and became unprofessional. I understand that time is valuable, but as a customer especially when dealing with a delicate, custom piece I believe it's reasonable to ask questions or change my mind. At that point, I didn't feel comfortable leaving my daughter's outfit there or moving forward with the service. Even as I helped remove the pins and apologized again, my outfit was dropped onto the floor on top of my bag, and I was once again told I had wasted her time before she walked away. Additionally, I was only given an estimate, with the final price to be determined later, which added to my hesitation. I truly wanted to find a place closer to home, but this experience made that difficult. I am so disappointed. I believed online reviews and took my coat there to have the sleeves shortened a few inches. The cost was steep. $50! But I thought a seamstress who had the nerve to charge such a high price must have the ability and confidence to do a great job. Turns out that was incorrect, despite her assurance that she would. The sleeves pucker. They're uneven. Sloppy. Very ugly. The employee was blase, as if this happens all the time. She told me to leave the coat so it could be fixed. But no, any seamstress who thought this mess was OK to begin with cannot be trusted to "fix" the damage she already did to this never before worn coat. Beware this business. No wonder they want payment in advance. read more

This is my go to place for alterations and for cleaning. I've been using this place for 20 years and always a great job! She goes above and beyond. Took my mom's wedding dress and she tailored it to fit my daughter and did a fabulous job!!! It was perfect! Wouldn't go anywhere else. Also, the prices are very reasonable! read more

I highly recommend this business for alterations. Customer service and workmanship is top notch. Had alterations to military uniforms and other items. Workmanship was excellent- no additional alterations needed. Visited serval business like Sandy's sewing and know that they are top notch. I've tried them three times now - the first time, I had some jeans patched. Overall, it was a sloppy job, with threads hanging everywhere, denim that didn't match the original color, and badly trimmed patches that chaffed. I did get a few more wears out of each pair of jeans, but it really wasn't worth it at $16 per pair for repairs. The second time I used them, I had them hem three pairs of pants - great job. Nice. The third time, I had them put a drawstring in a pair of pajama pants. The drawstring wasn't even as long as the waistband. I have no idea what anyone was thinking on that one, but it was a total waste of money and extremely irritating. I won't be using them again. read more

I love this place. They do a great job with my mending, hemming, and alterations. Prices are very reasonable. They make me feel comfortable with no trace of judgment about body shape or clothing sizes. The owner Ronak is full of knowledge and skill with sewing - and also radiantly kind. She seems to hire really kind employees, too, because everyone I have interacted with there has been genuinely lovely. read more

I have been going to sandy sowing den for about 15 years now she does excellent work and always friendly and smiling. Ronak and her daughters do excellent work. I have never had to bring anything back to be redone. I highly recommend this clothing repair shop and wouldn't go anywhere else to have my custom work done. read more

She is a miracle worker. She altered a bridesmaid dress for me, when the boutique mistakenly gave me the wrong size she basically remade the dress to fit me. She does great work, would highly recommend. Also a very nice lady. read more

Horrible! DO NOT BRING YOUR WEDDING DRESS HERE! I brought my wedding dress here for multiple alterations... VERY LONG STORY short... she took my dress out too much (after telling me she probably couldn't make it fit me because it was too small), sewed a very simple belt on OVER AN INCH crooked and in the wrong spot in accordance to my body, and was unable to hem my dress because she told me it was too difficult for her. I didn't notice the belt being crooked until I tried the dress on later at home (she did not have me try it on in store, should have) and when I called asking for a refund for just that part of the alterations, she told me in no situations do they ever give refunds and that she has tennis elbow and arthritis and it took her a very long time to do my dress in the first place and she should have charged me more. I tried to dispute it with my credit card company and they lied to my credit card company. DO NOT LET HER TOUCH YOUR WEDDING DRESS! She can probably do simple alterations but she is not a bridal seamstress and doesn't have the decency to tell you this before messing with your dress. I had to pay someone else to fix her mistakes and to hem my dress, don't waste your time or stress for you wedding! read more

Reasonably priced. I called around to get my winter down coat cleaned and it had some big numbers attached! This place was the lowest priced. They do send out the dry cleaning to an outside vendor. This appears to be a family owned business. English is limited here but it's all business here. Don't expect friendly chit chat or them trying to get to know you. Wam bam thank you ma'am! read more

Amazing experience! This place was able to fix a disaster of a bridesmaids maid dress and it has to be completed in a 2 day turn around! My daughter went from tears to feeling beautiful in the dress! Highly recommend! read more

We are constantly going through zippers on our jackets and Sandy's has replaced them all in a timely fashion over the past 10 years. They are done when they say they will be done for the price they quote me upfront. I have yet to replace a zipper that Sandy's has installed. Great job! and friendly staff. read more

This place needs to get there sh*t together. I had 2 pairs of jeans, one with a broken zipper and one with a zipper that came off the track that I brought in and my estimate was $8 to $12 to replace one zipper on one pair and put the zipper back on track on the other. When It came time to pick them up a totally different worker (maybe the owner this time) tried charging me $29. I told him I wasnt paying that as the jeans were only like $50 brand new for both pairs combined and Said it was bs I was quoted this price and now your telling me this price as I never would have paid almost 30 bucks(almost 20 more than I was quoted)to repair some 1 year old sh*tty jeans and would have just rather replaced them with new ones and told him to basicly shove it and that I didnt care if He kept them because they werent worth 30 bucks to me. On my way out he kept trying to price negotiate with me because He knew he would be taking a loss so I ended up meeting him somewhere in the middle of what I was quoted originally and the bs He tried quoting me at which I should have just ignored him and left him stuck with them but I just made a special trip their to pick them up so I would have just wasted my gas and a half an hour of my time and caved in and paid the new negotiated price. I have been here a few other times for other alterations with no problem but after this visit never again will I return. read more
