Intelligent, communicative, friendly, fairly -priced technical expertise and repairs. Were we dreaming? We requested a walk-in appointment to get our 2008 Roadtrek's refrigerator looked at, as we were traveling through Tucson with an elderly dog on a hot day - they saw us as soon as possible and diagnosed our problem quickly. But, the best thing was that, instead of asking us (as they do at most RV places) how Roadtreks are supposed to work, they knew all about them, even our older one. I cannot recommend a business more highly than Sandy's West RV Center. I bought a 2003 Roadtrek on a Dodge chassis from them in Oct. 2015. If you have ever purchased an RV before, you know how complicated it can be - kind of like buying a tiny house and a car at the same time. They made the process so easy. Marion and Dave, the co-owners, showed me the vehicle that interested me most with no sales pressure whatsoever. I was willing to drive up to 500 miles to meet my new (old) RV, but this was the favorite one, after extensive Web searching, right here in Tucson. They worked with me extensively to the last details, from showing me mechanical aspects of her working condition to taking care of all the title/tag/and tax paperwork. Joe, A++mechanic, took four hours to walk me through operation of the various and numerous systems before the sale was even complete. Shawn and Tim, also A++ mechanics, did a lot of work to make sure she'd be in great condition and were extremely helpful and patient in answering my many questions. On top of that, even though the sale was practically a done deal but before I handed over the check, they surprised me with brand-new Michelin tires without raising the negotiated price. Dave, the co-owner, spent a day refinishing a home-made cabinet because they and I didn't like the looks of it. They were confident I was going to buy her but just wanted to make sure everything was A-okay. RV's name is LaVANder. She's an extended camper van with lavender/"Plum" exterior trim and original lavender-ish interior curtains. Gets compliments everywhere we've taken her. Sandy's West is not a fancy or gigantic place, but they stock a lot of supplies for reasonable prices, some of which you can't get anywhere else in Tucson. I was impressed by the service I received at Sandy's West RV! All the staff encountered were honest, attentive and genuinely concerned about me as a person and RV owner. I was told that this great small family business would help me, and they did help me with my RoadTrek mechanical issues. They not only helped identify and fix my mechanical problems but they helped this RV neophyte feel at home and comfortable with his vehicle heading out on his first new adventure. If you have a Class B Motorhome and are having problems in the Tucson area, Sandy's is the place to take it. I've been dealing with a leak in my Roadtrek for a couple of years. Since I live in CA, the leak would come and go depending on the amount of rainfall (none most years) we had. I decided to have 'fresh eyes' look at the problem, and fortunately Sean had some time and did that for me. He found the potential leak and was able to seal it for me; still haven't had enough rain to test it, but I'm pretty sure he found it. And if you're lucky enough to be there when 'Sandy' is there, the old gentleman has some amazing stories to tell! read more

If there were a review category higher than five stars I would give it to Sandy's West RV Center. They were helpful, friendly, competent, and didn't try to pressure us into buying things we didn't need. In fact they discouraged us from buying some accessories we didn't need, and helped us understand some key maintenance moves we should make in order avoid coming back to them for more service. I looked all over the place to get a moveable window to replace a fixed on in a 2016 sprinter. After about 4 places, I finally asked Sean from Sandys. In the blink of an eye he found me one, at roughly a third of the price I had received at another place. I was on a short time frame, and he got it in again in the blink of an eye--recommended a glass place, Speedy's, to put it in and voila! After it seeming absolutely impossible, Sean and the crew over at Sandy's made it happen within about a week. Honest as the day is long and dedicated to their work--it doesn't get any better than that. I will most certainly be a repeat customer, and you should too! read more

Updated review. We recently found out that the outside outlet works on shore power when Sandy's insists the inside outlets can only work via the inverter. Puts tell to the story that the factory would have one go through the inverter. I've insisted to no avail that the kitchen and bath and TV outlets were live with shore power only to have Sandy's insist they have to go through the inverter, which wasn't original to the rig anyway. Watch these guys, not quite as good as they'd like to think of themselves. read more

Sure wish I could write another good review of Sandy's. Agreed, some of staff is friendly and courteous. We took our Rialta motor home there with a refrigerator that was not working on propane. The mechanics mainly Shawn] took it out of the rig, installed a new thermocouple, tested it over and over and assured us it was fixed and would stay lit. We had some other details fixed at the same time. We paid $600.00 and on a Saturday took it home to load it up for the trip we had planned to begin on Sunday. The refrigerator would NOT stay lit when we tried to light it Sat. evening. I purchased 2 bags of ice, we loaded week's food into an ice chest and left Tucson. Sandy's is closed on Sun. and Mon. Tues. we called them from the road. No explanation, just denials, no offer of help or partial refund was forthcoming. Our destination was Eugene, OR. Took the Rialta to a place there where the fridge WAS fixed and it's still working fine. Of course we paid again. Back here in Tucson in 2016 we have found another place to work on our rig.. read more

Looking at truck campers after having trailers, class c, and class A's and Joe and Mario were unbelievably informative AND HONEST. Necessary equipment ($1-2k tie downs, turnbuckles, wiring to charge camper battery) were noted so there would be no surprizes.
