I went in to get my thermostat replaced. As I drove away they call me asking why my car doesn't start. Turns out they broke my ignition switch. They replaced it but later down the road my car started running strange and the battery kept dieing. So I started wondering what I lt could be. Turns out they beat the bolts in in my steering collom to my ignition switch. The switch looked like it was busted and banged up also. And when I picked up my car there was sap all over my hood ruining my paint . Never go here unless you want to pay for your car to be worse than it already is.!!! read more

No no no no no no no no no.......!!! Five stars, duh. Oscar is the best. I travel 30 minutes across town to have him fix my cars. I will reiterate that he gives an honest estimate, gives honest repairs (because he wants you as a repeat customer), and is one of the nicest guys around. One time I took my car in for him to analyze my AC and he even topped off my motor oil. His door sign and his website says he opens at 8:30, but he really opens at 9:00. I've told Yelp this, but they just don't want to update the business info with that for whatever reason. Oh, yeah, parting thought--not only is his shop honest, but his shop is competent, too. Gets the job done right and in due time. 5* = A top favorite. Mind-blowing good. I will definitely return and I will go out of my way to go here. Worth every dime of my money. 4* = Outstanding. Top-tier. Some elements not quite as good as it gets, but it still is worthy of my regular business. 3* = Good experience. I might do repeat business if it is convenient, the only option, the only one in its category, or on a whim, but would not be among the first thing to come to mind. I was in a pickle driving from San Diego to St. Louis. Car was acting funny and we stopped here because of the good reviews. Oscar, the owner, looked over our car and told us exactly what we needed. His shop closes at 530 and he and his assistant stayed and got our car repaired AFTER HOURS. He could have told us to come back tomorrow (Saturday) but he didn't. He charged us a fair price. Brought my car in with an obvious radiator leak and AC that has not worked in months. Not only did they call me multiple times and let me know what the issues were. they were super helpful getting me signed up with the finance company. They were done before the day was over and even gave me an oil change! My AC has never blown colder in the whole time I've had this car! One of the services I thought my vehicle needed ended up actually not needing to be done. They had enough integrity and honesty to tell me this rather than to just do it and charge me for it. When my guy closed up his shop after 25 years, I was in mechanis panic mode. After searching I found Oscar. He always has a crew of mechanics, and they are always busy. He always answers his phone and is accommodating to needs and emergencies which says alot about his character and business integrity. My driver side window regulator broke in triple digit weather. They replaced the part, but the van would not talk to it for programming. All of the guys chimed in to help get it to work. It was stubborn, however they did get it working. The reviews are not lying, they are great! I called early in the morning for an impromptu bumper fix, even though they don't do auto body repairs, I was desperate, it was a Saturday, and needed someone reliable who wouldn't scam me. They took me in despite body repairs not being their thing and were honest about the final product not being pretty. But that was fine with me because I just wanted my bumper to not fall off. Well they did it in about half an hour, functional repair, only $40! Did not judge me at all either for being a young female with typical bumper issues lol. Earlier this year I had to replace a couple tires on my SUV. Talked with Oscar about it and he told me I had an alignment issue. I was surprised that he'd invested in one of the top-line 4 wheel computerized alignment systems and had a workshop separate from his Ft Lowell & Stone shop. Since I'd had him replace my timing belt kit, radiator & starter (all are still working great), he'd earned my trust for challenging problems with my vehicle. It's been about a year and a half since these services & it's still running real smooth. Recently I noticed weird wear on my tires (front more than back) and talked with him about it. He recommended a 4 wheel computerized alignment with his new equipment so I gave it a go. The result is awesome! It no longer pulls to the left which pissed me off and ground down the tread. I use my vehicle for both personal and business. Without Advantage Auto I'd probably replace it with a lease. With my use it's better economically to keep it working well rather than replace it. I don't know if it's because I'm a female or what but I paid several hundred dollars for them to repair my alternator as I live 1400 miles away and need to get my small kids home. The manager promised me all was good and testing okay and not to worry I was covered with worry free warranty so God forbid anything happens we are covered. Low and behold 200 miles later my car dies on the freeway. Get it to a mechanic within the worry free warranty network and BAM no freaking warranty. These people blatently lied to my face!!! And put my family in danger with their crappy service. I had my Taurus transmission worked on by Advantage Auto repair. Their repair costs are average (no bargain). I had the pump shaft (splines replaced) for $700. The parts and transmission oil cost $100, the labor was $600 for a 4-5 hr job, they had R remove & replace the transmission to get at the broken part. Oscar did explain what the repairs entailed. He quoted the repair cost of $250 to $700 . I wasn't impressed with the cost. I would rate them average. It's tough to find auto repair shops that are fair, they have you over a barrel and they know it. read more

We took our 2003 Corolla there yesterday with a broken trunk that would not latch. Despite it being very busy, Oscar had a mechanic immediately take a look at it. I found him about 4 years ago, needing my ac fixed in a 97 Jeep Cherokee. They fixed it for significantly less than other places. I am traveling and my car started to make a noise. I have been taking my car to the Chevy dealer and it seems that every time Chevy puts their hands on my car, something else goes wrong. I came and spoke with Oscar and he and his guys tracked down the issue, my exhaust. Oscar told me something that I never knew!! He told me that Federal Emissions require that Chevy fixes my exhaust and it will be FREE!!! He didn't charge me for looking at my car and he told me where to go. This is the best shop in town to have your car repaired. Honesty, great work, customer satisfaction and integrity are paramount at Advantage! Today, I took my car to Oscar and his crew to have my O2 sensor replaced and to have the AC repaired in my 2006 PT Cruiser Convertible, given that it was 93 degrees today in AZ. My car was fixed and ready to roll within 90 minutes. Oscar explained the repair to me in detail, which was extremely helpful. I will never let another shop touch my car!!! Note: I took my car to another shop last weekend and they couldn't fix the AC and they suggested I bring it back so they can work on it ALL DAY!! These guys fixed both issues quickly!
