I've been in Dickinson for several weeks and this has become my favorite place to eat, I think I'm addicted to the onion rings. I've eaten here about a dozen times and have never had a bad meal. At times they have been short staffed and it took a little longer to be seated or for the food to come out but the food is always delicious. Eaten here a number of times. Haven't gone to other locations statewide so I can't comment much on the franchise as a whole. Mostly travelers want to get a drink and some hot food and this suffices. Staff are friendly enough although some seem too preoccupied with high school gossip than serving guests. Have a seat at the bar if you want some banter and good one on one service. A good selection of beers and a full bar for your mixed drinks. PBR out of the mason jars or the tall cans are CHEAP so get a few of those to get the job done quickly. Food menu is MASSIVE. Chicken. Burgers. Fish. Salads. Apps. Sandwiches. All sorts of food. Little pricey at times to me. But it is ND and maybe oil money factors into that. Or just shipping costs because someone has to drive this up here. Still I've eaten a few menu items over than apps and been pleased. Apps are quick but entrees take a bit but it's fresh and made to order. I did have an issue with some fraudulent charges after visiting several times. Pay cash if you can but it was probably a fluke? Checked my statements and it seems to be from here so maybe someone had an RFID reader and stole my card information. I can NOT recommend going here. We got there at 5, waited for ten minutes to be seated, waited another 15 just to order drinks and food and finally another hour to recieve our food. The place was not busy either..maybe like five other parties. We waited over 40 minutes after we finished just sitting there waiting for someone..anyone to notice us to pay our bill. Not once did anyone check on us, ask if we needed anything or even if we were ready for the bill or even if we wanted a dessert. There was NO customer service. We had to actually track down someone to pay the bill. And when we mentioned the wait and how we didn't receive good customer service the manager treated us horrible. He didn't say sorry, offer us a free dessert or even to partially comp a meal for the over two hour wait. Instead we got the guy telling us to pay the bill or cops get called and to not come back. If you desire to age five years throughout your experience, then this is your place. Service is slower than Moses with multiple wait staff continually passing you by. It takes an eternity to get a drink, order your food, and don't expect any refills of visits from staff once your plate hits the table. I purchased the $15 for $30 Yelp voucher. Sanford's did not honor it and told me that Yelp was trying to scam me. "Sorry you got scammed, coupons are free you don't have to buy coupons, what can I get you to drink." Yelp immediately refunded the voucher which pretty clearly illustrates for me who is running the scam. If Sanford's is willing to try to bring people in with a voucher that they have no intention of honoring, I can only imagine what kind of gross corners they're cutting in the kitchen. It's been awhile since last I ate here. I wanted to try it again. I ordered a California Chicken Sandwich and Garlic Parmesan fries. While it looked wonderful, the first half tasted good, the second half was inedible being like a piece of rubber. The place is packed with lots of fun things to look at. There's a huge menu with something for just about everyone. The price is a little high but makes up for it with quantity and taste. I had the country burger which was cooked just right and packed with flavor. The garlic parmesan fries left a little to be desired but they made up for it with the onion rings that came with the burger. The portions were like Cheesecake Factory, which isn't really a good thing. I have eaten here 3 times now, food is ok. Avoid the fajitas like the plague, they are not fajitas, I'm almost wondering if they were even beef. It's served almost as a vegetarian dish with a couple chunks of tough meat hidden throughout a disproportionate amount of watery onions and bell peppers. Luckily Tabasco sauce has a consistent flavor throughout the world, so I was able to add some flavor to them. The fajitas come with a plate of dressings and flour tortillas to make tacos with your "fajitas". The lettuce is the same pre-washed, crunchy, herbicidal, genetically modified plant with hints of carrots you can purchase at the grocery store. Also included are black olives.... Who on the face of the planet puts black olives on their fajitas, even if they suck? Black olives? Really? If I wanted flavorless mush I would just eat the cold watery crap attempting to imitate sautéed onions and bell peppers. Anyway, if you enjoy bland salsa, then you might as well pour them on your "fajitas" because nothing can make them any worse than the poor kitchen employee who made them. You can also count on a "do you want a box?" question from the waiter when they notice you've fished out all of the mystery meat from the aforementioned watery onions and bell peppers. I think the staff recognizes the quality of your order. You will definitely receive some looks because the locals will avoid this dish along with making eye contact with you because of their empathic embarrassment. The decor is really great and I think they have something covering every inch of the walls. I was surprised just how many seats are located in the restaurant. The menu contains so many different items that could be overwhelming to some people. Almost every page has some sort of special if you order 2 or more items. I was very disappointed they did not accept my yelp deal of $30 for $15 and am still working on getting my money back. After reading other reviews, it sounds like this has happened before so I'm not sure why yelp has not taken the deal down?? We ordered the loaded potato skins and the beef nachos as appetizers so we got to take advantage of the buy 1 get 1 50%. It was kind of weird that the potato skins order only comes with 5 halves instead of an even 6. We also ordered the cooter sandwich and the spinach chicken sandwich. Both came with french fries. AVOID!! I have been to this establishment 3 times. The restaurant has amazing decor! What a cool atmosphere that is utterly wasted.
