I went to this location because I was so impressed by the Sangria Tapas and Wine on Francis Lewis. I'm not sure if these locations are affiliated, I was a bit let down this restaurant. The paella portion was a bit disappointing. In terms of flavor, the calamari, sauces, and paella were really good. They charged an automatic gratuity, but after I got my card back, there was another option to add an additional 18% tip. Hmmmm.... I recommend the Stuffed Mushroom De Chorizo, Hummus and Grilled Calamari, Guacamole Served with tortilla chips we also had some burgers , beers and coconut mojitos Which are really good and generously served. I say good. If your looking for some wine and tapas. The cheese plate definitely leaves some room for improvement, for almost $20.00 I expected more. The pulpo was good, aside for the random potato, plantains, and fish skin. The clams Sangritas, and gambas garlic were my favorite part. Went for lunch with my husband. It was our first time there. The server was lukewarm and uninformative. I ordered the garlic shrimp, which was listed under tapas. I expected a small serving, but not just 4 shrimp which is what it was. Had I been informed by the server, I probably would have ordered an additional dish or a main course. My husband ordered the grilled churrasco; it came with a bit of salad on the plate and sweet plantains (which, by the way, is not typical Spanish fare). All in all, unimpressive. Sangaritas is a decent tapas place. It's a hit or miss depending on what you order. Two hits were the Cubano sliders and calamari. The calamari here is what I liked the most. Also tried the meat paella and garlic chicken entree, both were just OK. Peach Sangria tastes like it was more juice than alcohol. The servers here are friendly and good but service was slow due to a lack of waitstaff. It seemed like there was only one waiter in the whole place. The rest were bus boys. I don't know why restaurants make this mistake because it definitely takes away from the experience. read more

My friends and I used to LOVE this place and the staff felt like family every time we went. The food was great and majority of the staff were amazing and that's why I am even giving two stars. However, we had an unfortunate misunderstanding with the head bartender with blonde highlights. She was extremely rude to my friends and I when we tried to use the bathroom even though the other staff members in the establishment were aware of this and said it was okay. She flat out told us to get out with a nasty tone that we absolutely did not appreciate. There was a more professional way to approach the situation and the way she did it was not the right one. First i want to say how nice the staff are here. They have awesome happy hour and the food is delicious. Ordered he chili sliders, stuffed mushrooms with chorizo, tostones, and the meatballs. Everything was delicious including the sangria and the Cabernet Sauvignon. We paid for our bill and we're still hanging around and they gave us sangria on the house. Despite its name, I didn't see many selections of sangria on their menu. However, there was a long list of margaritas and mojitos on a blackboard. Maybe the sangria was listed elsewhere. Anyways, I dined here with friends on 8/5/17, and the place was popping. One of my friends said it was too loud, but I didn't mind. Our server was a really cool and jovial guy from Colombia. I had the pomegranate margarita on the rocks, and it was tasty and strong. One of my friends had the Edelweiss margarita, and the other friend had a beer. Maybe I should've gotten the Edelwiess margarita too, but then I would've been singing the song from " Sound of Music," and I know no one wouldn't have wanted that. Wrong venue and I'm no Christopher Plummer. I forgot to notice if the Edelweiss looked "small and white" and never asked my friend if it tasted "clean and bright." Tapas: Stuffed mushrooms with chorizo Croquetas de mariscos Ceviche mixto Chimmi sliders These tapas were very well done, and I liked the chimmi sliders the best. They were very juicy and looked so cute on the plate. Ceviche mixto came in 2nd since its refreshing and light texture offset the heavier tapas. We came here for valentine's day -- the restaurant was pretty full throughout the night. For 2 people, we ordered 4 tapas: - Hummus & calamari - super delicious - the hummus had a creamy texture and calamari grilled to perfection - Guacamole w/ fresh tortilla chips - pretty standard - Shrimp w/ garlic - infused with garlic and olive oil (another great staple dish) - Stuffed mushrooms w/ chorizo & manchego cheese - very tasty Then for our main entree: - one portion of paella negra - this dish tasted more like risotto (there's too much sauce for the rice so there weren't any crispy rice) We were definitely stuffed by the time the paella came out. Overall, the tapas were delicious - the flavors were on point. We could've skipped the paella because it wasn't that good and we were full by then. The area where the restaurant lost a few stars was due to the service. When we walked in and got seated, at least 4 waitstaff came over to us to ask what we wanted to drink which got annoying after the 3rd person b/c I mentioned that I'm pregnant and water would be just fine. My husband wanted to order a drink but none of the prices was listed on their drink menu so he didn't want to be surprised when we got the bill. The lack of organization drove us a bit nuts. Next I asked about the unlimited tapas offer on Tuesdays for $23.95 that was advertised on the table. The waiter says it's not available on holidays but there's no disclaimer so that was a huge buzzkill. Then after we placed our order and gave our menus back, another waitstaff came over to ask if we had ordered. Maybe they were super busy but they needed to be a bit more organized especially since we didn't have menus in front of us which meant we ordered already. So after we finished the tapas, the waiter cleaned the table and asked if we wanted the bill or see the dessert menu. I mentioned that we haven't gotten the paella yet so he quickly went to get us fresh new plates. Lastly, when the bill arrived, I presented them with a coupon from restaurant.com and the manager said to us, "normally, we don't take coupons on holidays but I'll let it slide this time." This is completely inaccurate. I've read the fine print a few times and they only thing printed is that the coupon cannot be used on New Years Eve and Xmas Eve but it wasn't worth mentioning. read more

Had dinner here on Saturday for date night with the wife, based on her recent visit (she went recently for "girls night out"). Great ambience / atmosphere as soon as you walk in, and you can easily tell that this place is most popular for date night or girls night out. We showed up a bit early for our 7:00 reservation, we were given the option to wait a bit by the bar or we could have a table downstairs. Sounded intriguing so we chose to go downstairs...so glad we did! Beautiful atmosphere downstairs as well and a bit more subdued than the "hustle & bustle" upstairs by the bar. We pretty much had the whole downstairs to ourselves until last 15 minutes when another couple came down. Seems that they might keep this a secret...if given the opportunity, definitely opt for a table downstairs! The whole way there my wife was raving about the white peach sangria she had last time (she rarely drinks but when she does, is into the more lighter "fruity" drinks, while I am more of a red wine / craft beer snob). When we placed our drink order I figured what the heck, full pitcher of white peach sangria. Mind you, I usually do not go for the fruity drinks my wife has, but this sangria was AMAZING!!!! Great tasting and had a nice buzz by the time we finished off the full pitcher. Our waiter Juan was awesome, did a great job throughout our dinner. This experience was certainly a case of my eyes being bigger than my stomach. I am well aware that tapas ("small plates") are smaller servings, and I was going in with the intention that we would be ordering 6-8 different tapas to share. Tough decision choosing amongst the great selection, but we decided to start off with 3 items: roasted cauliflower, fried calamari, and stuffed mushrooms w/ chorizo. Everything was outstanding...was tough to choose a favorite but I think the stuffed mushrooms really knocked my socks off (every once in a while I need to be reminded how much I LOVE chorizo!!!) After the 3 tapas we both seemed to be relatively full, but I still wanted to try more! We ordered the Cuban sliders...also outstanding! Came here because we had a gift certificate deal from Restaurants.com which they accepted without fuss. It was a rainy Sunday afternoon so really appreciated the FREE VALET PARKING because even without rain it's a tough neighborhood for parking. We were there for about an hour, and we were the only patrons the entire time - probably because of the rain and we were having an early dinner. The staff is extremely friendly and welcoming! The decor is clean and sophisticated. We had the half-pitcher of peach sangria which was okay - a bit watery (too much ice maybe?) and ordered from the Tapas and Sides: - TORTILLA ESPANOLA - excellent, standard fare - CROQUETAS DE MARISCOS - didn't really taste the seafood in it - BAKED CLAMS CON CANGREJO - excellent - MADUROS - standard fare - GUACAMOLE - standard fare Dishes were brought out as they were ready and all were freshly made, big portion-size for tapas, and filling. For dessert we had the Flan (very rich and creamy, more like a soft cheesecake) and the Tres Leches (very sweet, but the cake was a bit dry on the top half - probably needed to soak longer?). The desserts are huge servings so one would have been enough to share. BE FOREWARNED - it was only two people in our party and they added 18% tip before even bringing the check! Granted the service was superb and we don't object to the amount, but we were surprised by the check total until we realized they charged MANDATORY GRATUITY, and there was still a line for additional tip. Overall, we had a cheerful experience yet nothing from the menu made us feel like we had "something to write home about" - we had selected pretty standard fare and the Sangria was not the best we've had. (You have got to try the Peach Sangria at Sangria 46 in Manhattan!) On the PLUS side, we each got a card for a FREE glass of Sangria on our next visit so maybe we'll give it another go. read more

The good part about this spot was the food and drinks. Super amazing, I had the classic sangria and the salmon. My boyfriend had the mango sangria and the skirt steak. For the appetizer we shared the plantain chips. The negative was we arrived around 8 on a Saturday night. Just a table for 2 and the place was not super crowded at all. The hostess immediately walked us downstairs where there were more tables, but no one was there. She told us they were sitting people upstairs with reservations upstairs and if you didn't have you had to go downstairs. There was no one downstairs. And when we went back upstairs after we finished eating it still wasn't packed. That was the main negative. Unless they know it will be super packed they shouldn't automatically ship customers downstairs Our waiters were amazing. I had to stand at the bar while my date was at the table and finish my drink what an embarrassment. After that she introduced me to all the flavored Sangrias they had (complimentary) I was in a specific mood for a margarita so I ordered the sangarita specialty cocktail with Parton; wow absolutely delicious! My boyfriend joined me shortly after & he has the mango sangria. We had the ceviche ( Personally it was a little too spicy for me ) however we really enjoyed it. I came here about 2 Saturdays ago around 10pm. Walked in and the bartender told me they were closing... ok. I came here last Friday at 10:03. Was going to have one Sangria before going out to bourbon.. was told they are closing early and I cant come in. Watched two girls after me get turned away as well. Decided on Tuesday to give it one more chance, went with my wife at 8:45 for dinner and they stated kitchen was closed. Gave up on this place, rather go down street to cinco de mayo. Bartenders are much more friendly and accommodating. Plus their hours that are posted are actually their real hours, not whenever they feel like closing. read more
