On 10/08/25 me and my plus one were in the Bayside NY area, coming from a doctor's appointment. We needed nourishment and I decided to look on yelp. I saw the grill cheese at Baraki. Walking towards this restaurant looked very inviting and interesting, there is a beautiful, decorated arch composed of blue flowers. Walking inside the ambiance pushes toward a Manhattan vibe, really cool and elegant appearing to be an upscale establishment, offering fabulous seating, and they have outside dining in the rear of the restaurant. The bar is at the front, and it is accessible for those who enjoy happy hour settings. The restaurant was empty when we arrived, so we were swiftly accommodated by Melissa. Melissa was very pleasant and provided excellent service, being very attentive. Our order is as follows! Cranberry Juice _$ 3.00 Focaccia Burnt Grill Cheese _$17.00 Gyro Bao Bun-sauce on the side _$17.00 Blueberry Pancakes 3@ $18.00 Bacon _$ 4.00 Desert - Chocolate Souffle _$12.00 The cranberry juice was saturated with ice which became diluted with water which greatly affected the taste. The Burnt Grill Cheese was really good, it had a nice crunch to every bite, accompanied by a vodka sauce. In my opinion, it did not need any additions, it did nothing for me. The blueberry pancakes, however, were very tasty with a dominate blueberry taste of course and a hint of corn meal. The bacon was saturated in oil due to being cooked and served immediately. If I cooked bacon at home, I am ridding the bacons excess oils. (I know, I am not at home.) My plus one enjoyed the Grill Cheese but could not tolerate the dairy product. She had the Gyro Bao Bun which offered an acquired taste, significantly different from the gyro pita. The desert came with ice cream, so we shared that. It was a lava cake, hot and delicious but very expensive for the portion. All of this for a total of $80.57 cash or $82.99 CC. If I eat at my normal diner, I'd pay roughly $7 for a four stack of pancake including bacon, grill cheese $7, Desert $3.75, gyro $9, and $1.45 for juice about less than $40. I think there are improvements needed with pricing and portions, but I guess this is an upscale or lavish place to eat so you pay for it, dearly. The music was very loud, I think they would be more aware of the music selection. I did not appreciate hearing the N word and explicit lyrics especially when my plus one made me aware. 4 stars decreased to 3 stars.

Quality: 8/10 food came out fresh and cooked well. Variety: 7/10 menu is a bit limited, but offer a good amount of options for apps, mains, and sides. They don't have a dessert menu, but you can ask them what desserts they have for the day. Atmosphere/Cleanliness: 9/10 very clean and earthy modern decor. Very cocktail lounge vibes with loud music and people at the bar (I came on a Sunday night). Service: 7/10 not super attentive but we were able to get their attention. Price: a bit pricey for the type of food you're getting, but hefty portions balances it out and most dining places in the area are about the same price.

Absolutely perfect decor inside. Every inch of the space was clean. The food menu is very extensive. The brunch was fabulous. We ordered the whipped feta chicken skewers and grilled cheese sandwich to start. We then ordered the breakfast sandwiches along with a coffee and some water. We had no room for dessert.

Came here for lunch during end of December in 2025. The food was alright and I had better Greek food elsewhere, perhaps at Gyro World. I would have preferred to go there instead...

Baraki was pretty good & I would go back. However, I will say that the service definitely pushed up my initial 3.5 stars to 4 stars. Mona was my server and she was absolutely lovely- despite both bartending & waitressing at the same time, she did it with grace (a lot better than I would've handled that situation truth be told). She was also very accommodating without being overbearing. Basically, she was great and if I do go back, I hope that she is my waitress/bartender again. As for the food and the drinks, everything was decent, but nothing was out of the ordinary (which is fine lol). We had the oranjillo to start which was good but didn't taste like it had much liquor. I forgot what the name of the second drink we ordered but it had passionfruit in it & tasted significantly better/was stronger IMHO. For the food we got the spinach artichoke dip & the gyro bao buns. The spinach artichoke dip was quite good, but again, it is hard to mess it up. The gyro bao buns were for sure, unique, but didn't taste great. I appreciate the creativity, but not everything is meant to be in a bao bun. Overall, this is a cool spot & if I do go back I hope Mona will be there!

Went here for lunch during the week. Interesting space, lunch was in the main area which is a bar and some tables along the wall. Not sure what service is like for dinners/weekends but it wasn't set up for quick table turnover. Friends and I were able to have a leisurely lunch with a nice cocktail. The dishes were not noticeably memorable but they made for a nice meal. If I were to go back, it would be more for the leisurely ambiance than particular food, four stars for being able to enjoy a leisurely lunch.

Everything was absolutely amazing. The food was delicious from the brunch menu and from the appetizers/small bites. The drinks were incredible! The restaurant is super cute and I love the decor and ambiance. The service was top notch! Definitely a spot you must go to!

Visited here with a bunch of girlfriends on a Friday night and had a great time! We ordered a TON of food - mostly apps, and had such fab bites. We got the gyro bao buns, whipped feta, fries, brussel sprouts, cauliflower, cheese spring rolls, and some other items. It was such a great place to do a tapas style dinner - the food was such a great fusion of a bunch of cultures, my personal faves were the spring rolls and the gyro bao buns - so so innovative! The service was so fantastic, so friendly, and provided great recommendations! The restaurant is deceptively large - it looks small in the front but it extends in the back. Plus points for 2 clean bathrooms!

We had some appetizers for dinner at the bar. We loved the gyro bao buns. That was the best thing we ordered. We also really liked the brussel sprouts, the tuna tartare and foccacia burrata. The beef sliders were okay. I did not love the spicy peanut calamari. Cocktails were crafted to perfection. They all had fun cheeky names. I don't remember the names of the cocktails i had, but I don't think you can go wrong with any of the cocktails on the menu. They were all well balanced and not overly sweet. The were pretty and picture worthy. The staff was welcoming and attentive. They helped give us some food and drink recommendations. The venue decor had a clean, comforting, floral, modern feel. The venue had a good vibe and fun energy. We had a really nice evening at Baraki.

My new favorite spot on Bell, it's very small and cozy, nice decor and ambiance. Great spot for a pregame or quick drink. They make the best espresso martinis in the area. Apps are great, they recently added some new menu items. Quick, friendly service. I've been during the day and late night, always consistent. A little pricey but worth it for for good food & quality, a lot better than most places in the area.

Forgot what this was called but it comes with a little movie theater popcorn on the side :)

Strong energy, great service, attentive staff! This is a well lit modern bar/restaurant in the front and then a whole other vibe when you walk to the back Japanese restaurant Sushi by Bou. (Both restaurants are good, don't get me wrong) But come here for some awesome American/Mediterranean dishes! Nothing disappointed and I'm only craving more! Portions are generous. This is what we ordered for a group of four.

We asked about happy hour since Instagram said they had it, but turns out it's not a thing anymore. They owned the miscommunication and took care of us, offering $8 wine, discounts on a couple appetizers, and even a complimentary extra glass of wine to make it up. We ordered a few things off the tapas menu. The popcorn chicken, the octopus, uni and foie gras, short ribs, and beef tacos. The short ribs leaned a bit dry, but everything else was on point. Standout by far was the uni and foie gras. A little pricey for 4 pieces but very delicious. Big shoutout to the 2 staff on site, very friendly, warm and responsive throughout. I would recommend Tavern 157 if you're in the area looking for something casual with good drinks and food and not in the mood for Korean food. Just double-check happy hour before you go, as they mentioned a new one may be coming. Overall, a really enjoyable first visit.

But, the oysters tasted pretty fresh with little to no sea water taste. The interior of this restaurant is unique and interesting with nice ambiance. The service was good at first until we asked for the bill and a 20% gratuity fee was applied which is for a party of 6 or more (as stated in the menu), but we only had 5 people. When we asked the waitress about this, she said that the statement in the menu isn't updated, and that they charge this fee on weekends because it's busier (not stated in the menu). Mind you the restaurant was completely empty when we walked in at 8pm. However, the waitress did ended up refunding us the difference for the tip.

Manager Beatrice is truly a gem -- very attentive, super sweet, and made my family feel so welcome. The atmosphere was warm, family-oriented, and comfortable. The prix fixe menu was excellent from beginning to end. For appetizers, my mom had the burrata with heirloom tomatoes, and my sister and I had Nonna's meatballs, which were delicious. My sister had the rigatoni, my mom had the salmon, and I had the short rib of beef, which melted in my mouth like butter -- that's how tender the meat was. For dessert, I had the cannoli's while my mom and sister enjoyed the chocolate lava cake. Everything was flavorful and beautifully prepared. The bathrooms were also nice and clean, which is always a plus. My family and I will definitely be coming back again -- even if it's just to stop in for a lychee martini and the grilled octopus, one of my favorite meals. Our server was very pleasant and happened to be the only one working at the time, though with so few guests, it seemed to be all that was needed. We ordered the three-course lunch special. One set included the meatballs to start, followed by the chicken Parmesan and bomboloni for dessert. The other included a Caesar salad, tagliatelle Bolognese, and tiramisu. There was a bit of a longer-than-expected gap between the appetizer and the entrée, especially considering we were essentially the only table being served, as the other guests had already finished their meal. That was a little frustrating. Aside from that, most of the food was solid. The only real disappointment was the chicken Parmesan, which was quite overcooked. It was unfortunate given that the kitchen was only cooking for the two of us. That said, the mashed potatoes, an unusual pairing with chicken Parmesan were excellent: perfectly creamy and incredibly smooth. The tiramisu was also quite good, but the real standout was the bomboloni. I was genuinely surprised by how much I enjoyed them, since fried doughnuts wouldn't normally be my first choice for dessert. I would definitely return.
