I've been going to Jyssica for about a year now... she is not very personable but I have always given her a chance because she is knowledgeable about natural hair. I made an appointment to see her this weekend driving all the way from Delray Beach while 8 months pregnant and got stuck behind a car accident on 95. I sent her a courtesy text to let her know I would possibly be about 8 - 10mins late. She proceeds to tell me that I would have to reschedule because she has a full day and would be behind all day. Mind you at my last appointment I waited more than 10 minutes while she finished another client and then I had to fluff my own hair and take off my robe when I was done under the dryer because she was washing another client's hair. I never complained... I paid, left a tip and brought hair products which I also had to get myself since she was with another client. So how was it okay for her to be behind for my appointment, but not another client's. So it's clear to me she doesn't treat her clients fairly and whatever she may be going through at the time dictates how she treats her clients. When I let her know she was late with my last appointment she never even responded which again lets you know how much, rather how little she values her clients. And it also shows how unprofessional she is. In this current climate we live in, I think it's important to support black businesses, but I will never refer another person to her after being treated so badly. In the past I have referred multiple people to her and also sent her a donation through cash app at the the beginning of COVID quarantine when small business owners were struggling. Unfortunately she's a small business owner who doesn't care about their clientele enough to show the same courtesy and respect to them. Yet complain about not getting the support or respect they feel they should be given from her black peers and clients. It's tragic when we can't come together and be reasonable and supportive of one another. It definitely makes me understand why it's so hard for some black business owners to progress, because they last major professionalism and common courtesies. I say all this to just warn anyone who plans to book with her be careful as she does also charge a deposit for each booking so if this same thing happens to you I doubt you will get your money back or even a rescheduled appointment. Update! In response to Jyssica and again you should abide by your rules at all times. I never heard of this rule before... you have been late starting my hair before and started someone else's hair while I was in the room still and that was at the beginning of the pandemic on March 21st. So to try to lie and say I know how you work when it comes to people being late is not true. read more

I booked the Curl CPR service. I have been natural for about 2 years and have never had my natural hair cared for by a professional. Jyssica took the time to explain the how and why of my hair care. Prior to Broward, I stalked Sanii on IG for at least a year. When I sat in her chair for her curl CPR first appointment in June 2018, I knew everything I'd seen on IF was true: she is the truth. At my first appointment she had to trim off quite a bit of hair and my husband laughed that he hadn't known I was getting a new haircut. But I could feel and see the difference in my curls so I was excited and I trusted Sanii. Fast forward two and a half years and I am singing Sanii's praises everywhere I go. My hair has never been healthier, easier to manage, or had more definition and beauty. Because I stayed consistent with my maintenance between regular appointments (using only the products sanii recommended and adopting her techniques for WnGs and staying consistent with weekly washings), Sanii was able to take me to a hot blonde, nearly platinum, color that I am obsessed with. Sanii is a perfectionist and she takes her craft very seriously. She is the most knowledgeable person I've ever met when it comes to natural hair. (Literally, I've discussed natural hair trends, past missteps in my hair care, my friends' and family's hair concerns with her and she's scary-accurate in diagnosing why things do and do not work and I have no doubt she can fix any curly headed problems.) As a first time client I booked the $380 dollar hair CPR treatment. As soon as I walk in I was greeted with a stare which prompted me to ask Jessyka if everything was okay? She responded "yes", in a very dry manor. I decided to look beyond the non welcoming greeting and take a seat. On Jessykas booking policy it states hair must be detangled, which my hair was not detangled well enough to her desire because I was met with an attitude as she rolled her eyes and played around in my hair and asked if her policy was clear. First of all, if I'm paying nearly $400 please just detangle my hair to your liking or charge me more, I let her know that I didnt have and issue with paying more. Thus there was No need for attitude and explanations of how much more time it will take you and if your policy was clear. The concept of me having to fully detangle my own hair and pay $400 is baffling, at that point she might as well require me to wash treat and cut my own hair too!? She continued to ask me simple dry rhetorical questions about my current hair care treatment which I was not impressed by and then with even more attitude and sloth/ irritated like body language she said well we will have to start with a wash since you didn't detangle your hair. I stopped her and said listen I'm big on the energy of those doing my hair and I don't appreciate your attitude. And she responded with the excuse that she is pregnant, which is none of my business and has nothing to do with being polite and professional. That was the last straw for me and I proceeded to grab my things and exit her space. There was no way I was going to allow someone with such a negative attitude do my hair! It was an awful experience! Rude and unprofessional at best. First time customer. She was late and spoke to me very rudely upon initial meeting. She spoke sharply to me and seemed very irritated, making faces and such as she walked to her shop door to meet me. It was quite shocking, but I pushed through my shock and tried to make the best of it. She seemed to try to reset her demeanor to a more pleasant one. Curl CPR visit was going well. My hair was already trimmed from two weeks prior and I followed all of her instructions on her website. She even acknowledged that she didn't need to do much to my hair as it was in good condition and did not fit the needs of a typical Curl CPR client. Ultimately, she overpromised and undelivered on her "experiment" with different product combinations. She assured me that my hair should last about two weeks but it only lasted two days even after I followed all of her instructions specifically. She refused to redo my hair with another experiment of product combinations to help me. It was quite disappointing as my hairstyle was for my upcoming birthday. Overall, she truly lacks good customer skills. So, I paid $440 for a 2 days hair style. With that type of pricing for a hair service, I expected more reasonable support. I definitely won't be going back and will look for a more caring and professional stylist who is willing to give you your money's worth. I booked for Curl CPR on the website and luckily I got in during the time we were there (I was booking pretty short notice). During my appointment, she was so helpful and honest about the things I needed to change and took the time to show how and why she did things which I appreciated. I wish there was an option to leave zero stars. I went to Sanii for a hair CPR and she did a terrible job and left my hair a complete mess. She admitted to using a new combination of products on my hair which left my hair dry, tangled and flaky the very next day. Needless to say, after spending over $150, my hair needed professional care all over again. I contacted Sanii and sent pictures to which she simply admitted to using a new combination of products and refused to provide a refund. Simply put, Sanii is the worst stylist I have ever been too, she treated my hair as an experiment when I spent a lot of money for a CPR and refused to provide a refund on account it's against her policy. There should be exceptions to the policy considering how poor of a job she did, she did offer instead to redo my hair but clearly, I would NEVER let her go near my hair again.
