Skt. Peders Bageri is one of those Copenhagen spots where the line tells you everything before you even step inside. It's usually packed, sometimes very packed, and the handful of seats feel more valuable than a winning lottery ticket. The coffee is fine, does the job, but let's be honest, you're here for the pastries. And wow, the pastries. Warm, flaky, buttery perfection that makes the wait completely forgivable. We ate FOUR between two of us!! My favorites were the custard and cinnamon roll. But the blueberry and poppy seed shouldn't be overlooked either. We didn't get cardamom this time... not really a fan of that. Grab one, dodge the crowd, and eat it outside if you have to, because these are absolutely worth it. Copenhagen bakery culture at its most intense and delicious.

I have no idea what these are but they live in my dreams. I CRAVE them consistently and would travel back to Copenhagen just for these pastries. They are SO GOOD! 10000 out of 10 best pastry of my life.

I made a point of trying as many cardamom buns while I was in Copenhagen and I think this was my favorite! It also helped that as I was waiting in line, they put down a fresh tray, so they were perfectly warm. Like the other reviews said, it is a small space, but I just took my pastries to go and ate while walking around the city which was perfect.

Oh the pastries were so good here! There will be a line when you arrive. Luckily, we waited about 15 minutes on the line on a Saturday morning. We got four pastries: cinnamon roll, raspberry topping pastry, cardamom bun, and almond croissant. The bakery is quite small tho so we just got everything to go. I enjoyed the cinnamon roll and cardamom bun a lot. We'll definitely visit again to try other pastries.

MY ABSOLUTELY FAVORITE BAKERY IN COPENHAGEN. go early in the morning before they run out. the service was very fast and organized as they do usually have a line. i got two of their berry pastries and they were mouth watering. the pastry was so flaky and fluffy. the tart was delicious and hit all the right spots.

Known for their classic pastries, especially the Cinnamon Snail - it was quite dense and was the perfect not too sweet flavor profile. They had many other pastries that I wish I could've tried - be prepared to wait in a line for a little bit!

This is one of the oldest bakeries in Copenhagen, and I couldn't leave Denmark trying trying a Danish pastry before leaving. So naturally, my friend I came here twice during our short stay. Everyone else in Copenhagen knows what's up because this place was crowded and had a small line a couple hours after opening. If you wait till noon, you'll be left with cinnamon rolls (which is still a fantastic option). The pastries here are phenomenal - warm, soft, perfectly sweet. Absolutely worth a transatlantic flight over.

Sankt Peders Bageri is the oldest bakery in CPH. This bakery is a must visit. They have the best Spandauer imo. It was so good that I kept coming a few times during my stay. They have a couple small tables if you want to sit down to enjoy your bakeries and have a cup of hot coffee. Service was pleasant. I always came when they first opened at 7:30am but as soon as i sat down, there was already a long line outside the door.

So glad I came here after a friend recommended it! The pastries were incredible! Definitely worth it to stop by. Hope you beat the crowds BUT also get variety!

I loved this bakery! The girls were so kind and recommended what we should try as travelers! They had such a variety! I had the cinnamon bun twist and it was so so yummy! We only had to wait in line for a few minutes, but all the indoor seating was taken as there are only 3-4 tables. Definitely recommend if you are looking for a nice bakery!

Ambiance: 3/5 Service: 5/5 Food: 5/5 This place definitely deserves all of the hype it receives! I came on a weekday morning and was surprised to have to wait in a line but luckily it went by quick. The space itself is quite small with only a few tables available so I would say it's best to be prepared to get some goodies for takeaway in case you can't snag a table. Once I got to the front of the line I was overwhelmed with all of the delicious goodies they had to offer so I went with the recommendation of the lady working at the front and was so glad! The pastry was warm and perfectly soft, I still dream about it to this day. I can't wait to go back!

The oldest bakery in Copenhagen, of course I had to see what the hype is about. This is the first place we went to after reaching the city, in the afternoon, and although it was empty when we arrived, it became crowded shortly after. The space is quite small but as we were there earlier than others, we had the couch area to ourselves. They have so many options on display so we asked the baker to recommend their most popular items and they did good! We tried their cinnamon rolls, cardamom and pistachio buns and holy moly, they were delicious. It lived up to my expectations, and more! The location of this bakery is also perfect. The street where it is located has beautiful colorful houses.

I came here with 2 other friends on a wednesday morning around 10am and there was no line! We were also able to secure seating almost immediately (it's pretty small inside). I ordered a pistachio cream pastry and a cardamom bun and they were both pretty good but the pistachio cream definitely got a little much towards the end. I would recommend splitting this one with someone. The cardamom bun was less fragrant than the Juno Bakery version but it was softer and tasted more flavorful!

Beautiful pastry perfectly made, friendly staff and wonderful coffee in a very small, but cozy, historical shop.

I had been aight seeing all day and was getting hungry. My friend and I planned on going to the park to read so we picked up bengals on the way. This was one of our cheapest meals in the city so it was already off to a great start. I got a spicy chicken with a cheesy bagel. And we took our bagels To go to the park. I thought it was great and ate every bite. I would recommend for a cheap and filling option, especially on the go. Freshly squeezed OJ. Bagelwiches = bagel + cream cheese + cheese slice + protein + veggies = Yummy goodness! ***The long read*** How I got here: I had an early morning flight from Prague to Copenhagen. Lack of sleep and the early morning flight had left me tired and hungry. My friend who'd been to Copenhagen before mentioned this as a must visit place so I thought of grabbing a quick breakfast here on my first day in Copenhagen. I took the M2 train from the airport and got out at Kongens Nytrov. A quick 4 mins walk later I was here at the Bagel co. Ambience: Although it's a tiny place the aroma of freshly baked bagel won't let you miss this place as you walk past it. It has a bench on the inside and 2 tables with 2 chairs each on the outside. Menu is on the inside and outside as well. You can see a display of fresh veggies and meat behind the glass. The experience: You can pick from a preset menu that's on the wall both inside and outside. They're all bagel sandwiches (bagelwiches?) served hot or cold depending on the protein inside. Small fire icon besides the hot one would cue you as to which of them are hot sandwiches. You can either choose the preset ones or order your own sandwich. They have popular options like omelet, Lox, pulled pork and even veggie options like the veggie, falafel etc. You get to choose from a variety of bagels like cheddar, plain, tomato, sesame and different cream cheese. Feel free to swap out any of it. You can even get different cream cheese on each slice. Veggies are super fresh. If you don't believe, just hear the lettuce crunch as they shape it into your bagel. I found myself coming back to this place again and I ended up trying the omelet, spicy chicken sandwich and Lox (smoked salmon) Out of the 3, my favorite was Spicy chicken. The chicken was tender and with just the right level of spice. Omelet with bacon in it is also the quintessential breakfast of the Americas! They serve coffee and freshly squeezed OJ! I got introduced to bagels in NY 10 yrs ago, so the idea of bagel has always been bagel + cream cheese and that's it. Although I've seen bagelwiches before, this place is what got me hooked on to the idea of it. I am almost afraid to try out bagel sandwiches in the US because the Bagel co has set the bar really high. If the US ones don't meet the bar I may just have to book a flight to Copenhagen to get my fix!
