Interiors are beautiful and cozy. The leather chairs, central bar, and decor take you to another world where you can enjoy your classic cocktail, scotch, or wine in utter opulence. The staff are always efficient and helpful when serving and suggesting drinks if you are feeling a little adventurous. Try the Negroni 1919 or the Espresso Martini. Good selection of wines too and a decent repertoire of Single Malts (for a price!). Bar chow is available too if you feel like you need more than the refillable snacks they serve you. It's also the perfect place to have an intimate conversation or a casual meeting. Cigar smokers and smokers alike will enjoy the fact that you can smoke here (sorry non-smokers!). Price points are expensive compared to your average bars or speakeasies but you're at The Peninsula after all. Most of the patrons were (as is obvious) casino goers looking to celebrate their wins (or to console themselves, down on their luck). And really, the only people what kind of cash to burn in a casino range from late thirties and above. I must have been the only one in my twenties there, apart from my friend when we sat at the bar of Eclipse. It's more of an "entertainment lounge" than actual bar were you could go dance to the the latest music. Seeing as their clientele is... more mature, Eclipse adjusted accordingly, getting acts that perform music from decades past. I guess that's one of Eclipse's redeeming factors: they have live performances every so often, and they're actually very good! (Well if you're into that sort of thing.) Eclipse is more like a big hall with lounge chairs and booths dotting the sides, and when there's a live performance, the middle is cleared out where... your parents can dance to disco hits performed live. The prices are what you'd expect inside a casino: short of actually robbing you of money via slot machines. But the bar is very well stocked! Just don't order anything from their dessert menu. It took more than 45 minutes for my friends lava cake to come! (Well, that's just to be expected, at a bar.)

A brief, joking conversation with a bouncer took an unexpectedly dark turn. When I lightheartedly asked if anyone had ever tripped on the spiral staircase, he replied, "Only if I throw them off." Joking or not, for someone responsible for patron safety, this felt in poor taste and sounds like he wants to look or sound intimidating. It's a remark that unfortunately sticks with you. And it was of bad taste. Overall, Z Roof Deck has much to offer in terms of views and ambiance, but attention to staff training and customer interaction would elevate it from a good spot to a great one. 2 star from poor choice of words from the security at the roof deck. I've been to actual speakeasies in the US that survived Prohibition era and they don't quite have the same feel--for starters, the building is new, there are no secret doors or hidden basements, there isn't a password or secret code to get in or antique version of the menu, no history about how the place survived when it was illegal to sell and distribute alcohol. Despite not having the culture and history behind it, it is still a very good experience and would highly recommend for the drinks and ambiance.

Caught this killer hip-hop/trap set that had the whole place moving without feeling forced or pretentious like a lot of BGC spots. Slipped upstairs to Mao Den for a bit--smaller room, tighter sound, killer cocktails--and it felt like its own little secret world. Left at 4am sweaty, happy, and already planning the next one. If you want real underground Manila nights without the dress code drama, this place is still unbeatable. 5 stars every time.

It is where you can usually find independent, up and coming local and international artists playing mostly hip hop, bass and trap music. Most of the time, it's not really for the EDM type. This place also has different areas inside, which offers different ambiances and music scenes too. On the second floor, they have the Mao Den, a room which has its own DJ and bar. Black Market is also the place where I always celebrate "birthday salubongs" and halloween with friends, which were always fun! This is one of the things that I miss back home. Highly recommended!

I've just recently been getting back into the party scene and out of all the bars / clubs I've been to, the two of them are definitely up there on the fave list. Luckily for me, one of my jobs led me to seeing and experiencing Pangaea on it's first few weeks of operation. It's certainly interesting, with scantily clad ladies behind the bar serving up the drinks with ease and an air of confidence that men wouldn't dare attempt to offend or take advantage. There are several couches, available for a minimum spending guarantee, that comes with standard bottle service, which they upped as those who got tables even have a dedicated V.I.P. service managers to ensure you have the best experience possible. There were also ladies going around, dancing on the open spaces and even on the ledges to hype-up the crown and get the party started. Soon after, they were inviting people to dance, which actually worked. Soon after, the dancefloor was full and even those who were still in their respective couches were on their feet and dancing as well.
