The officer (Fernandez) doing the mail here is LAZY! First and foremost, I have another friend who is incarcerated at a different facility, and one here. Whenever I send out mails to both inmates, I send it out as batches. My other inmate friend has never gotten any mails sent home. But for some reason, this facility always sends my mails back and marks that there is a "odor" or substance on my mail. I follow all the rules such as b&w ink, normal paper and limit my photos a week to 10x. Everything I print out is fresh from the printer and packed right away into the mail. The person doing mail here doesn't want to do their job. There is seriously something wrong with this facility. They do not want inmates to be able to reach their loved ones. Also, as you can see this officer marked "pictures must not be larger than 5x7 including the paper they are printed on" even though there were no pictures in this, only words. To add to this, I sent out a booklet, similar to an essay and it keeps getting sent back as "unauthorized"??? So they're going to take away my freedom of speech... how can a letter be unauthorized... I sent out the same thing to a facility in Milpitas and the inmate had NO ISSUES with odor or "unauthorized booklet"??? It just proves that the officer Fernandez here is bullshitting their job and the family of loved ones have to deal with it in return. People like these give officers a bad reputation in America. Power tripping off mails smh.

Rejected by the assholes in the mail room for being a copy from a coloring book. This is not a copy. Copies aren't allowed but printouts are

I am horrified at the way they treat people in this jail. They read the letters and make fun of what is in them in front of everybody. They reject mail if they feel like punishing someone. The same book was rejected three times for three different reasons. I sent some coloring page printouts because there's not a hell of a lot to do there and coloring is something to do. They were accepted the first time, but the second time when they were sent for his birthday with a birthday note in black and white which is allowed, they rejected the whole package. They said that coloring books are not allowed unless they are sent from the publisher. They also said that copies from coloring books are not allowed. I did not send either one of those things. These are black and white printouts on white paper with black ink which is all they are allowed to have. And the assholes sent them back. They are taking it upon themselves to punish the inmates because of their own self-imposed beliefs about what type of people they think prisoners are. I have sent things to people in three different prisons and this is the worst. The people working at prisons are on a power trip and this seems to be the only way they can have power. To punish people who have no power to do anything about it. Wanted to attach the rejection notice but I was so upset that I crumpled it up and threw it away.

The bread was stale and the apple was mealy. Very unimpressed for a $7000 meal. Do not recommend.

I have unfortunately had a family member in custody on and off at this jail for several years now…read more The reason I am leaving a review is because of Deputy "Demilio" I hope his name was. I made it a point to ask him his name and department (the lobby he said) because he was the most attentive, companionate and proactive person I have ever spoken to throughout this unfortunate experience as a family member of an inmate. I received a concerning phone call from my son's dad today who I am separated from that he was having some medical issues and the fire dept was called due to breathing issues. Dept. Demilio made sure to contact the housing facility and confirm that he was OK. Thank you for giving me some piece of mind and not just dismissing me or transferring me to some dead end like I have experienced before.

In addition, there are no more same-day visits. Unfortunately, there are no handicap spots for parking. Except those a distance away in a paying parking structure. There's a loading and unloading area, but for the duration of a visit, there are none. (handicap spots) Unless I'm mistaken. Please make sure that you follow all the rules and guidelines, because they seem to change often depending on circumstances . For my visitation, I had to bring cash (no credit card ) to put money on my friend's books. Don't Forget: you need your approved ID, And of course your car key. (I also tried to refrain from wearing any metal belts etc. going through the metal detector. There are outside lockers, however I've never used them before. Don't forget to bring the booking number of the inmate. And when you call up, make sure that the visit is not during their lunchtime, or if they have a work assignment time. (rarely, something may come up that will disrupt all visitation for the day) This may sound silly, but I always make sure that I wear my glasses, because if I wear contacts, the dust inside really does affect them. Additionally, (if you like) make sure that you bring wipes for the visit phone, who knows who used it last, by multiple people. The guards there were very nice and professional, the wait wasn't long at all. Note: There are restrooms inside, but there is NO drinking fountain. Reminder, no cell phones allowed, which is why I only took one outside picture! And that's my review!

There's plenty of signs telling jurors where to park. I can't believe how many people parked in the wrong place and had to move their car. The summons has the lot address, everyone has a phone. Google it if you're not sure. I was able to check in outside online while waiting for the doors to open. A Sheriff instructed everyone to remove anything metal from their body before going through the metal detector. So many people didn't and this held up the line a bit. These are probably the same people that parked in the wrong lot. Once in the Juror room on the 3rd floor I took a Juror badge and took a seat. They had goodie bags, bottle water, coffee, and pastries since it was Jurors Appreciation Week. Before the orientation videos several judges look time from their courtroom to come to the jury assembly room to show their appreciation. Senator Umberg was also there. It was nice to see all these people. It was a slow day. Not many courtrooms needed jurors. My name wasn't called. Many of us were let go earlier than expected.

There is a specified parking lot for jurors to park in which has ample parking and about 2-3 blocks from the courthouse. The courthouse is a bit dated but very clean, organized, and spacious. Government buildings always feel safe and comfy! -1 star for the lady at jury services who gave me attitude for no reason when I politely asked her if I needed to keep my jury duty summons postcard after it was scanned. Lady, your job is to answer questions in a room with AC. You are amazingly blessed. Realize it and act like it.
