If I could give zero stars, I would. I drove two hours for this visit, arrived onn time, and was met with a sign on the window that said, "Be back momentarily." I waited respectfully, only to be told I was "too late" -- at 10:03 AM. So apparently, if you're held up because they're unavailable because they're taking a shit in the bathroom, , it still counts against you. Make it make sense. What really got me is the smug attitude and complete lack of accountability. She clearly saw me waiting while she was in the bathroom taking the longest shit of her life, probably on her phone doing God knows what!, but instead of owning the delay, she twisted the narrative and tried to play gatekeeper like it was her personal mission to ruin someone's day. When I asked to speak to the sergeant, she conveniently left out key details and fabricated the timeline to cover herself going to the bathroom and printing and posting and taping a sign on the window because she was gone for so long , which tells me everything I need to know about how she moves the way she handles things needs to be investigated. And she needs to be drug tested with the way that she was acting. If you encounter her, don't even waste your breath. Ask for someone else immediately. People like this are bitter, miserable, and dying to project that onto anyone who crosses their path. Don't let her energy attach to you. read more

Always answered question and in the 3 years I came to visit I saw alot waiting in the lobby and every officer was always fair and curious to everyone that came in. It made a horrible time for me while my love one was incarcerated a little easier with the staff being so wonderful to me and kind and they treated my love one just as well on the inside . The officer (Fernandez) doing the mail here is LAZY! First and foremost, I have another friend who is incarcerated at a different facility, and one here. Whenever I send out mails to both inmates, I send it out as batches. My other inmate friend has never gotten any mails sent home. But for some reason, this facility always sends my mails back and marks that there is a "odor" or substance on my mail. I follow all the rules such as b&w ink, normal paper and limit my photos a week to 10x. Everything I print out is fresh from the printer and packed right away into the mail. The person doing mail here doesn't want to do their job. There is seriously something wrong with this facility. They do not want inmates to be able to reach their loved ones. Also, as you can see this officer marked "pictures must not be larger than 5x7 including the paper they are printed on" even though there were no pictures in this, only words. To add to this, I sent out a booklet, similar to an essay and it keeps getting sent back as "unauthorized"??? So they're going to take away my freedom of speech... how can a letter be unauthorized... I sent out the same thing to a facility in Milpitas and the inmate had NO ISSUES with odor or "unauthorized booklet"??? It just proves that the officer Fernandez here is bullshitting their job and the family of loved ones have to deal with it in return. People like these give officers a bad reputation in America. I am horrified at the way they treat people in this jail. They read the letters and make fun of what is in them in front of everybody. They reject mail if they feel like punishing someone. The same book was rejected three times for three different reasons. I sent some coloring page printouts because there's not a hell of a lot to do there and coloring is something to do. They were accepted the first time, but the second time when they were sent for his birthday with a birthday note in black and white which is allowed, they rejected the whole package. They said that coloring books are not allowed unless they are sent from the publisher. They also said that copies from coloring books are not allowed. I did not send either one of those things. These are black and white printouts on white paper with black ink which is all they are allowed to have. And the assholes sent them back. They are taking it upon themselves to punish the inmates because of their own self-imposed beliefs about what type of people they think prisoners are. I have sent things to people in three different prisons and this is the worst. The people working at prisons are on a power trip and this seems to be the only way they can have power. Santa Ana Jail will forever be my first memory of ever being into a jail. I didn't go to to jail, but a former friend of mine was arrested and ordered by a Judge to be deported back to Canada. If you guys are willing to do the crime, prepare to pay the price. I won't got into details about my friend. Santa Ana Jail is very noticeable with its high steps to its office. The lobby is like the doctor's office with two officers waiting at the desk. You sign in, give them Booking Numbers of the Inmate, and leave your items at the lockers. No Cell Phones, metal objects, and etc. Check their website. The lockers are 25 cents to use. When you are visiting, the media of how you talk may be different when I visited. We talked via monitor and phone. They have one Attorney Room, one regular room with the glass window, and two Monitor/Camera Conferences. You are allowed two one hour sessions per week. I can't reveal too much about the Prison, but its a place where you should never be EVER. I was parked there for about an hour and I was charged $2.50. They have electronic pay stations instead of booth operators. Will Not Have Fun here and Keep Yelping!! read more

I had a seizure while I was driving home so I pulled over and called 911. These idiots charged me with suspicion of dui even though I passed every drug test. Now it'll be dismissed obviously because my blood results came back clean but it doesn't undo the fact that I was taken to jail for having a seizure by officer Montoya instead of being taken to a hospital. People need to start speaking up and showing their dash cams about these ignorant cops. I never received medical attention nor was I able to. all my attorney even though I asked several times on video. I will hold every single person that works for the jail and the sheriffs office accountable for not getting me any medical attention after I had a seizure. They all let a disoriented female out in Santa Ana at 1am after they took my car, purse, Driver License and car because I had a seizure. Good job OCSD. I don't believe how I can't put in words, how inhumane, disgusting , racist and ignorant the stuff was at this facility, now understanding that I did break the law I am not entitled to any special treatment, but, being of a darker skin complexion, I didn't know that I would be treated like an actual slave, I never received meds the whole time I was there, as I was detoxing and hurting the guards just laughed at me, not to mention they stuff 10 people in a 5 seat cell, considering there is a global pandemic. They allowed other Caucasian inmates to wear their jackets and give them blankets, and I was completely told no or ignored when I asked for my own, not to mention, the cells are filled with literal feces and piss, asking for a health hazard or someone could get sick by constantly inhaling those fumes, another person in my cell decided to pee all over the floor, proceed to dance in it and then decided to track that all around the cell and even then, they refused to move us to another cell or even clean it up, also I made bail at 4-8 PM and all because one of the rookies that you could tell was obviously new to the program, all because i asked for toilet paper, he proceeded to ignore me and go sit down I'll admit I said something mean to him, in which they decided to tell me I didn't make bail, put me In A cell with all the inmates who are detoxing a lot harder then I was and proceeded to tell me I didn't make bail and I wasn't going home, all because his little ego was hurt when he found out I was willing to speak to him in whichever way I chose considering he refused to get me toilet paper, so they kept me ANOTHER 4 hours just to stroke their ego, I hope you see to it that guard is properly dealt with as well as all the guards who used their authority to completely degrade and mistreat another human being read more

Don't talk to the guards unless spoken to, keep friendly but quiet with other inmates. If you talk back to any of the guards you can expect to get beaten up!
