Service was awesome! We couldn't decide on what we wanted so we sampled a few different ones before deciding on our choices. I love the names! Their processing of the ciders are on not on the sweet end. Resting Beach Face - Hibiscus Berry Tea - This was one of the sweeter ones and it was good. It wasn't as sweet as expected. BOT - Blood Orange Tea - this was pretty good, but the blood Orange flavor didn't really stand out. I had originally wanted to try the Apple Pie Cider because it sounds amazing but they didn't have it at the time we were there. Parking can be limited. The night we were there, they had a taco truck. Came on a Saturday afternoon and it wasn't crowded. There was one person working the tap room so even though we were behind someone in line it took so long because a previous customer seemed to have bought a number of ciders to be canned to take home. I understand if that takes a moment, but it would have been nice for the worker to acknowledge the people waiting in line. It was like we didn't exist. Or maybe they need two people working in the event someone comes in to order a bunch to go? It's just a bit awkward to be waiting there and not have any idea how long it's going to take. It took about 15-20 minutes until we ordered and there was barely anyone there. I can't imagine what the wait is like when it's packed. A simple "sorry I'll get to you in a moment!" would have been cool. We contemplated leaving several times while in line. As for the ciders, I ordered a flight with the peachy keen, guava, pomegranate, and lavender flavors. Eh. Guava was my favorite but it's a bummer that this one of the only cideries and the cider and service is mid. read more

Noticed all the options had the same alcohol - and all tasted pretty dry, which made me wonder if all the many varieties are based on a similar recipe. Of the ones we tasted the Apple Pie was the consensus winner and the gaucho wasn't bad either. Visited this cidery on a Saturday night and it was completed dead so it felt like a mixed experience. The cider was delicious, with a great variety of flavors to choose from, making it a treat for any cider enthusiast. However, the customer service was just okay; it wasn't particularly memorable and also kind of felt lacking. Another major downside was it was completely dead on a Saturday night. One major reason I visit breweries/cideries is for the ambiance and liveliness of the crowd but being the only customers there meant there was no ambiance... Since no one else was there we spent a good amount of time playing Sequence, which was fun but something that we could do at home too.. The single star rating on this review comes from an on-going situation that eliminates this establishment as an option. There is a regular patron who routinely breaks out in loud, expletive-laced outbursts. She initially seems to be just a bit quirky (to be polite) but it is evident by her frequent outbursts that she is completely unstable and a danger to herself and others. I understand that a situation like this is very difficult for a drinking establishment to handle but it cannot be ignored. Hopefully, a solution to this business hampering situation will be found. Yep, get over it because the cider here is epic and we can forgive.It had been a looong time since I'd been to this place and wanted to see if it still represented. Oh and it does! This is not the sweet kinda sickly apple stuff we may have grown up with cider-wise, these are crisp and fresh tasting ciders that showcase many types fruit from tropical to traditional apple and beyond. With no fewer than 14 offerings on tap ranging from blueberry to plum and pineapple to apple pie, there is surely something for everyone. The space, while a bit hard to find the first time ( if you find Goleta Valley Paint Store you are super super close just look to the right) is delightfully industrial with vestiges of shipping containers Inside and an overhead crane on the covered patio. There are several picnic style tables with few high tops and assorted other seating to be had and plenty of shade. Staff was SUPER friendly and helpful. They can answer any question you might have about cider ( and I had a few) all with a smile and a laugh. Four stars, unfortunately, for the cider itself. Two friends and I went to the SB Cider Co on Saturday, and between us we tried three flights (each flight contains four pours and costs $12). There are 12 ciders on tap, so we were able to try them all. As we took our time working through the flavors, we came to the same general conclusion. Some of the ciders tasted watery. I hate to write this, because I liked the Cider Co very much. But I want to deliver my truth for this review! It's not that we're used to syrupy commercial ciders. We're all into craft cider and beer and were pleased with the unique tastes. Some of the flavors we tried included raspberry, hopped passion fruit, apple cinnamon (this was the only one brewed with sugar added), ginger, and cherry lime. We also appreciated the light and fresh taste that would be lovely on a hot afternoon. But what we were missing was a fullness of body in some of the ciders. This was surprising as they all clock in at around 6% ABV. I'd come back. Some of the ciders were quite nice. Taps rotate out frequently so it seems there'll always be new varieties to sample. And the policy of free tasters is right in line with what I expect from artisanal drinking. I like to try before I buy. But next time, I'd sip cautiously and be sure the ephemerality of the ciders I chose was balanced by a strong fruit taste and substantial savor. read more

We had our son's rehearsal dinner here. (16 folks attended) What a nice, down to earth place to have a wonderful time with guests! We brought in our own food because I did not know there was a food truck on the property. (By the way: everything the food truck served was gluten free. We will get their pupusas next time we visit.) I am not a cider girl.', but Ben's gf ciders were fantastic. Only 5 of us are gf, but everyone kept remarking that they loved the ciders. I tried the apple pie cider: it was crisp and delicious! I always stop here on my treks through Goleta and the SB area. Really down to earth people who do a great job of explaining the different ciders they make. They let you have samples and they are known for letting you blend different flavors to find your special cider to suit your taste. I'm more of one to not like sweet ciders so they help you navigate which ones to try. They are only open so many days s week and they don't open until 5 pm and close early but that suits me fine as that's when I pretty much come here before other plans. Parking is a bit difficult difficult depending on how busy they are so I've had to sneak into this little strip center on the road that has mom and pop stores like athletic uniforms, paints, and massage etc but most of them close about when this place opens. Si I haven't had any issues but I have my legal disclaimer to you acknowledge so let's get that out of the way ha ha.. I've tried most of the lineup and I like pretty much everything. I'm impressed that they use fruits that are more unique than most cider places. Passion fruit and mulberry so the tastes are pretty innovative. They are also not afraid to hop some of their ciders which is kind of unique. My favorites are the Deepen which is the mulberry and I sometimes do a half half with the sublime which is the hopped lime. I also like the pomegranate lime called viva. They all kind of blend well together "especially after a few" so I encourage experimenting and have fun! The other really cool thing about this place is their pop up pupusaria of Mexican food which has a lot of great vegan options. They hand make their tortillas and make to order. I've had both their tacos and pupusas and they are super fresh and they add lots of pickled cabbage and veggies and it makes for a great meal fir a reasonable price. I usually get them to go and reheat later and they still taste great. Someday I'll find a way to take home a growler as I see lots of people getting their glasses swapped out. Cans are currently an option too but going to cost you $8 per. As far as prices go it's a bit spendy as they are pretty small pours at 10 oz's and they cost around $7 a piece but the good news is they are all pretty strong so a couple are probably enough for most people. You can also get a flight of 4 for $12. I'm sure the ingredients they are using in these ciders are locally sourced and top quality and your supporting a local business so i guess I see it as providing a sort of tip for offering a cool space to try out some very good artisanal ciders. They are also a gluten free alternative to beer so you can bring your wheat free family and friends and have a great time:D Local little hidden hole in the wall to come and support. I was ecstatic when this place opened, SB has needed a cider spot for my fellow non-beer drinking friends. Their 4-play tasting flights are a must try for your first time. After a long day of painting, we decided to come here and try out their ciders. This place is down an alley way and in a storage container facility. You order inside and sit either inside or out on the patio in front. There is a food truck next to the patio that you can order separately from. It is alittle crowded when you stand in line to order but worth the wait. We did a flight with all the ciders they had on tap and just shared it amongst the 3 of us. That way we knew what they had. If you're a fruity cider fan like me then this is the place for you. Pretty impressive that they make everything themselves in small batches in the shipping containers that you'll see when you get to the ordering counter. They've got a variety of fruit ciders, tart ciders, and hopped ciders, often on a rotating basis, as well as different rim toppings, so the 4-play tasting flight is definitely something you should get your first time here. The blackberry lemonade cider called "Thirsty" happened to be my fave of the ones I've tried. I wasn't expecting to like a tart cider! They've got a lot of seating, both indoors and outdoors, making it good for large gatherings. They're also pet-friendly! For entertainment, there's a ping pong table and some board games. The venue is somewhat hidden. Park around the Goleta Valley Paint sign and just walk along the small alleyway right next to it. YAAAAY!!! I'm so glad this place exists! As someone who doesn't enjoy beer and doesn't have a palate for wine yet, I'm a huge fan of cider. I was extremely looking forward to coming here all quarter, so we went to celebrate the end of finals. The spot is located in kind of a shady-looking place, but once you actually walk inside, it's like a cute warehouse with warm lights and a rustic-looking vibe. Based on photos, I had a feeling it wasn't completely indoors, and it turned out to be right. Bring a jacket or two because it's half located indoors and outdoors, no heating. On a Thursday night, there was an ample amount of people and was a trivia night. I wasn't exactly sure how to play with the trivia but it was nice listening to it and answering on my own as I drank. I loved the assortment of buttons, apparel, and letter art decorating the room. The service here is AMAZING!!! I didn't catch their names, but the cashier and the drink-pourer were incredibly nice and made our first experience so great! We had good conversation. For the selection of drinks, I was disappointed to see that the flavors were mostly one fruit per drink, no cool mixes. We went with a flight of 4, then bought 2 extra on their own. They gave out free samples of flight glasses later on, so technically, we got 2 4-flights. It's the holiday season right now so they were flavors with certain spices that I didn't want to get. I opted for traditional fruity flavors: raspberry, apple, mango, grape, hibiscus, and pear. The mango flavor came with a rim of Tajin, and the grape flavor came with honey and a peanut dust--so cool! apple - Simple and classic flavor. hibiscus - Reminded me of perfume. I personally enjoy floral flavors but this may not be for everyone. pear - This one was okay, didn't stand out compared to the other flavors. raspberry - I have a bias against raspberry smells and flavors because I am traumatized from raspberry-flavored vodka. If you love this flavor, then this is good. mango - Only lick a little bit of Tajin because it can definitely overpower the flavor of the cider. The contrast of flavors made this my second favorite. grape - PB&honey twist. I don't often like grape flavors but the rim made this my favorite out of the flight. The peanut butter dust makes the drink look gnarly for sure. free sample of a holiday-edition cinnamon cider - I wasn't a fan of this. I don't enjoy strong cinnamon notes so I knew I wouldn't have tried it unless it was a sample. But whatever floats your boat! If you love cinnamon, you may like this. Overall, I'd like to come back here in a few weeks when they have a new round of flavors. I wish there was more interesting combinations of flavors! The flight sizes were great to share. The two of us only got ever-so-slightly buzzed. It seems to be a growing community spot and I absolutely love the atmosphere!! read more

SB Cider Co, while a little hard to find and even harder to find parking for (at least in the current construction times), is totally worth the drive, walk, park, run, squadle... They have multiple different flavors and variations of ciders, from IPA style to sweet apple mead and berries. In the times I've visited I've tried pretty much everything they have on their current menu and my absolute favorites have been the Homemade Apple Pie and the Hoppy Ending which taste just as they sound! The names are all adult jokes and the hidden messages around the shop will make you giggle. They have a wide variety of games for guests to enjoy, adorably rustic decor, a beautiful logo and products branded with it for sale, and dimmed lighting that makes for a calmer, more sentimental vibe. The owners are hilarious and down to earth people who are always there and can answer any and all questions you may have. I will definitely be back to try more flavors as they release them, view some live music performances, attend a food pairing with food trucks as they do some weekends, and visit with the awesome owners. The Goodland is definitely coming up lately with brewhouses popping up in random spots! This makes for a fun adventure trying to find the locations as most of them are in odd places such as the Santa Barbara Cider Co., but just look for the Goleta Valley Paint sign and the board sign on the sidewalk from SB Cider with the arrow pointing in their direction and you're there! Hours are Thurs. - Fri. from 5-9pm and Saturday 3-9pm I heard about this place from my co-worker and I was sold once she told me all the delicious fruit flavored ciders they had to offer. I'm not a huge beer or cider drinker but I'm a sucker for any fruit flavored drink as long as it's not overly sweet. They offer 12 rotating taps with different flavors and they change so if you like something when you go they might not have it again on your next visit but that's the beauty of this place! Something new always brewing. I decided to choose the 4-play which is a flight of 4 of your choices on the menu for $12 My Choices: Great Lei - Pineapple Cider Julie Mango - Mango Champagne Yeast Holiday Spice - Cinnamon, nutmeg, and clove Honey Crisp - Honeycrisp Apple My Faves: Great Lei - I mean its pineapple so it has to be good right? Well indeed it was! Subtle notes of pineapple gave this cider a nice zing! The best part was being able to sample the up and coming "Hoppy Pineapple" cider which was still in the brewing stage and not completely done nor was it filtered, but thanks to Ben the owner he gave us a sample. By far this was the best tasting cider of the night! It even had little hoppy seeds swimming around which made it extra special. This one is definitely a keeper on the menu and one I would order. Holiday Spice - If you love the flavors of the holidays and fall season then this cider is a must try! It wasn't overly powerful with the spices such as nutmeg and cloves tend to be. This one is a very mellowed out cider and it will get you in the mood for the fall season. I think it would even taste great served warm! The Julie Mango was one cider I was looking forward to trying simply because of the Tajin rim I was seeing from other customers but I was disappointed because I didn't get that special coated rim on my glass (sigh). Overall this cider was pretty good and the mango flavor was just right but I think the tajin rim would have complimented it even more so! I guess I'll just have to repay them a visit just to get that extra special rim lol. The honey crisp apple wasn't for me and I didn't even finish it. This place is sooo good and the best thing about it is that it is in Goleta so it's not far from where I live. It's a little low key place in old town Goleta so you have to find parking on the street and walk down the driveway. We got the 2 flights of ciders which was 4 each rack: blueberry lemonade ("gaucho"); cherry lime; Hopical tropical; apple cider; apricot; and a few others. The owners, Ben and Nik are so passionate about their ciders that you definitely taste the difference. All ciders are absolutely gluten free and delicious. I am a craft beer kind of girl who didn't have much experience with ciders, but they have changed my mind! These ciders are VERY creative and you can taste the quality and work they have put in making them.
