Loved the mead and ciders we tried here! Nice staff and comfortable atmosphere. We had a mead each, split a flight, and mixed up some 4 packs to bring home and share with friends.

Visiting Santa Barbara, I was thrilled at the opportunity to take my beer drinking husband to a meadery! High Seas Mead opened at 5:00 on Friday and we were there minutes later. Located in a dicey industrial area, I would not have walked here alone at night. But having my favorite 6 ft 2 designated driver along made this a very fun experience. Our bartender Devin was very patient and explained all of the ciders and meads available to try that night. Neither of us was very familiar with mead, although I drink a lot of cider. I tend to enjoy the dry ciders and tried samples of several that were in stock. But I can get cider anywhere ! So of course I ordered a flight of mead. I chose four flavors from six available, all lightly carbonated and dry (to me). Just because it's made of fermented honey doesn't mean it's super sweet. I loved the names of these beverages, super fun and creative! I have to say I'm still torn between the cosmic bandito and the cheap thrills, both had some berry flavor and a bit sweeter. The meadacolada and mystic vibrations were very light. All were packing a decent 7 percent punch. Like a strong beer. But gluten free. Although my husband tasted all, and liked one, I got pretty toasted trying to finish four pours. I accepted a generous offer of sparkling water (apparently no tap or still water flowing that night), and took a trip to their clean and cutely decorated potty before I could finish the flight. I ended up buying four cans to go. Our hotel fridge was small, but we had a whole week left on our vacation and a cooler, so I took them with us when we went to our next beach town. I will be looking for these babies in the store now when I get home to AZ! Bravo High Seas Mead!

What a lovely find this was! While walking around the Funk Zone, we heard some amazing live music coming from High Seas and the neighboring wine place. We wanted to stick around and enjoy the music so we got a mead and a cider and sat on the patio. What a lovely time we had! Everyone working was so kind. My cider was delicious. My husband enjoyed his mead but it's definitely more of an acquired taste. The vibes were just so great. A picture perfect warm winter night on the central coast

Delicious mead, very friendly people. It opened recently so there aren't a ton of reviews yet. Definitely a hidden gem.

This is a family owned/operated wine and beer tasting room located in Carpinteria, with their vineyards located on nearby Rincon Mountain and in Paso Robles. Cool vibe entry area, with a large, garage-like back room and outdoor tasting areas. Parking available both on street and in a private lot in back. WINES: We were fortunate to have Jill, co-owner with her husband Edward, pour for us and the service was excellent. We tried 5 wines from the tasting menu, a '22 Storytime Rosè, '22 Susie Q (white Rhone blend), 2020 Dusty Vinyl (Syrah, Grenache, Mourvèdre red blend), '19 Tempranillo, and a '19 Monk (Bordeaux red blend). In addition, Jill also poured us a '22 Syrah. Again, all the wines were well-made and flavorful. We took advantage of the waived tasting fee and took several bottles home with us. You can also purchase wines by the glass or enjoy a bottle onsite. BEER: New since our last visit, Jill and Edward decided to brew beer, so we also decided to share a tasting. All ingredients are grown on their property and they're currently pouring a Lu Lu Lager, a Monk's Ration (Belgian Ale), and a Sal's Stout. The pours are generous and easily enough for two people to share a tasting. We're not huge beer fans, but these, especially the lager and the ale, were so refreshing and full of flavor. They're sold in 750ml bottles, and we took a couple of these home as well. I highly recommend a visit to Rincon Mountain Winery's tasting room. You won't be disappointed!

The family vibe of Rincon is so beautiful. The staff are all so lovely. We LOVED the wine...which is absolutely incredible. We'll never not get the Dusty Vinyl and Tempranillo. Both are so bold and complicated while also being so easy. We became members on our first visit and have enjoyed every shipment and subsequent visit. We haven't been able to make it up to the mountain yet but cannot wait. Also the empanadas you can order are delicious and the vinyl that's always spinning at the room sets such a lovely ambiance. Being in an industrial area you expect a low level ambiance but it is incredible. The wine bar in the front vs the room in the back offer something for everyone.

I love checking out new wineries I haven't been to, and came across this one on Tik Tok. There's ample parking here with other small businesses in this little plaza. Such as Captain Fatty's Brewery and Green Star coffee. The winery itself is located around the corner once you drive in. Look for the signage directing you towards the back. They have a nice outdoor patio area, but I chose to sit inside on my visit. I was the only person there most likely because it was a weekday. I decided to do a tasting of the reds. It was $30, which seemed a little high but the wine is from the Santa Rita Hills region. Anyone who knows about STA. is aware that they have the best Pinots. I enjoyed each tasting and Julie was really good at explaining each pour. The Pinot and Syrah/Grenache/Mourvèdre were my favorites. I also appreciate that I didn't get a headache after sampling the wines. That's a huge plus! Overall, I had a nice experience here. I would love to come back and try their wine specials and listen to live music on a Sunday Funday afternoon.

Our servers Alex and Kayla were exceptional at both suggesting some delicious lunch items, and also giving a rundown on their different wine tastings. They gave us some helpful information on the assorted varietals and vintages as well. We went in specifically for their M5 and Riviera Rose, but discovered their extensive selection of other varietals and vintages. Came away with some new favorites: Sauvignon Blanc, Trois Blondes (a delicious white blend), Viognier, Mourvedre, and Estate Syrah. Perfect that they open at noon for lunch. We paired our wines with their Santa Barbara Smokehouse Salmon, Smoked Duck and Arugula Salad, Chicken Pesto Sandwich, and Sausage Mushroom & Carmelized Onion Pizza. Still so much on their menu to enjoy.

It was chilly so she tried to light the heat lamp at my request but both that one and the replacement did not work. The replacement actually had the propane disconnected so I assume someone knew that tank needed to be changed out but didn't do it. The other tables from the large party were full of wine glasses and a half eaten pizza. Those sat there for over an hour, and we watched several groups of people come but leave without being seated because no server was available yo seat them and the only open table hadn't been cleared. When it was finally cleared, one guest at a near by table commented that the pizza shouldn't go to waste. The girl who cleared the table initially carried it inside but came right back out with it and served it to that guest whose kid ate it. I'm all for not wasting food and if the guest had gotten up and grabbed the pizza himself, that would be one thing... but to serve old food that had been sitting out for a long time to a guest is a no no for a business. We otherwise enjoyed most of the wines in our tasting flight. Would've given 5 stars if service had been more timely, tables cleared and old food not served up.
