Second place we visited this week to try some wine. Great outdoor patio with lots of seating, nice vibe. I am not a white wine fan, but we did like some of their whites. Red wine was decent, we had a grenache, a syrah and some blend. Not blow your socks off kind of wine, but decent and fun vibe and staff were pleasant and seemed happy to be there. Frequency has a wonderful outdoor patio, fantastic wines and great service. Our server really took it over the top with her friendly manner. We were seated in a prime spot next to their fountain and ordered 2 tasting flights. To get the tasting flights comp'd, you need to purchase 2 bottles of wine. That's a bit steep as some places will comp it with 1 bottle. Nonetheless, our server had the perfect pacing for the tasting and even gave us a little extra sip at the end for our photo. We had such a wonderful experience at the frequency wine company. First of all, our dynamic server greeted us with such a beautiful smile . Our favorite , actually we had to was the 2023 rosé fresh and vibrant and crisp so delicious. And GSM 2022. I don't really know what to compare it to but we gave it 4 1/2 stars out of five it was a beautiful bright crisp glass of deliciousness raspberry and floral lots of wonderful red fruits a really beautiful delicate sip. They offer a variety of light bites but we brought sandwiches from a nearby cafe and enjoyed them with our tasting. All three servers served people around us and never acknowledged us on whether they would serve us or if we have to order at the window. Came to Santa Barbara for one day to do some wine tasting and visiting Frequency was bar far the highlight of the whole trip. The tasting room is tucked away inside a courtyard with plenty of outdoor seating. The interior is so cozy and inviting, we found a cute little sofa to sit on that was perfect for two. We went on a weekday, so it was pretty mellow but I have to say, the service was above and beyond wonderful. The ladies pouring were so friendly and offered lots of great food reccomendations. Now for the wine! Amazing. This was also the only tasting room we visited where we took home a couple bottles. Their red blend was a favorite, but their chardonnay was a pleasant surprise! Usually I'm not a chard gal, but this was so unexpectedly good and unlike any other chardonnay I have had. They offer some pre-made cheese boxes if you want a snack, but the location is walking distance to lots of eateries in the area. Can't wait to return next time I am in SB! read more

Had such a lovely time at Frequency Wine. We came on a Sunday afternoon and it was pretty busy. My boyfriend and I sat in the patio outside which had a great ambiance. We tried the wine flight and ended up ordering a bottle of the white wine from the tasting menu to sip on. We were able to sit, chat and drink for a couple of hours without feeling rushed. They were very stingy compared to other places in the area, which made it hard to fully enjoy the wines. Made reservations at this lovely jewel for Friday 3/4 @1pm. The weather was perfect for an outdoor tasting. Bailey was amazing, very helpful and knowledgeable about the wine. We've done a lot of wine tastings and this is the best selection we've ever tasted. The whites were spectacularly good, and the reds were excellent (though quite smoky probably due to the fires). Frequency made my experience so lovely that I'm excited to go to more wineries and wine bars. They provided small water bottles for us to stay hydrated throughout the flight experience. I enjoyed most of the wines. Our server who is the mother of the winemaker took her time in explaining to us the process of how each wine is made. She was patient with our questions and we learned a lot from her responses. With UCSB graduation this past weekend we had family we have not seen in a very long time come from all over the US for my Husband's cousin who was graduating! We all wanted to do some wine tasting while we chatted with each other. My husband did some calling around to some wine tasting rooms and Frequency was more than happy and able to accommodate our large group. We were promptly greeted and seated. Our waitress/ hostess came and greeted us. She explained what and how the tasting went to only one side of the table and with us all chatting on the other side we didn't notice that she was even their. We then sat for a few looking at each other like "um what do we do?" Our waitress came to the other side of the table and asked what we would like to do? We were confused since we had not heard a word she had said. We let her know we will all be doing a tasting and I advised that she repeat herself as she pours to each side of the table. She agreed. She was super awesome had no problem grabbing our attention when she needed it. The afternoon was perfect for sitting out on the patio. After the tasting we ordered full bottles to share and some cheese plates. The was okay nothing in particular stood out to us to take home. The cheese plates is where the little problem was for me. The menu said for 1-2 people and our hostess said they would feed more like 3 people. She brought out the boxes and let us choose. The one with meat was very meager. Looked like one piece of salami cut into 3 pieces and a couple small chunks of cheese. The cheese plate wasn't much better. But we needed snacks. Went with the $20 cheese plate/box. There was maybe 6 small chunks of cheese, on small package of crackers, 7-8 grapes, and a couple of walnuts. There was a lg container of fig jam though. Not $20 worth and placed is a large take out container didn't help. But we all got a little bite. The wines here are very new world, very easy drinking, and very fruit-forward. If you like subtler, food-friendly wines... come here anyway. Despite the intensity, I still found the wines to be very well-balanced. Bailey was an excellent hostess. She also gave me a bit of a bonus taste of the Mt. Carmel Vineyard Pinot Noir, which I ended up buying. Go figure. I also loved the GSM. It's an absolute fruit bomb, and yet so well put together. The winemaker adjusts the blend for every vintage. Take the time to look at the map on the side of the room. Very informative. They also have soil samples on a table in the middle of the room if you're interested in how that works. This place is an absolute gem. Definitely worth it to come here. If you have a friend that doesn't like wine so much, this is where you take them to convert them. We had a lovely tasting at this young wine company. The wine maker also works at Tensley in Los Olivos. We made reservations and had a choice of places to sit outside. I found the inside modern, it shares bathrooms and a building with a cute cheese shop. I really look forward to coming back to try the cheese shop after COVID passes and things reopen inside. This is also located next to a Mexican restaurant and Paninos. This is located in the historic area of Santa Barbara, very beautiful Spanish architecture all around. Parking is 90 minute street parking, hit or miss. Please know that they are known to enforce the time limit and give tickets. Service was friendly and informative. The wine was delicious. Now that was surprising but a nice surprise. They serve a Chardonnay that was bright and delicious. No overly oaked buttery bomb here. This was the first wine during our tasting and a great way to start. We also loved the GSM they served, perfect for thanksgiving! We recommend Frequency for good wines. read more

One of the most beautiful and beloved outdoor tasting spaces in Santa Barbara, Frequency's tasting room is close to great local restaurants and everyone's favorite cheese shop. If you love boochcraft and the tang of kombucha, the young wines here are definitely for you. If you're a tastemaker and can predict the potential of a GSM or Pinot Noir once it's had more time to mature, this is for you. Staff was a delight, location is one of the best, but the wines weren't quite for me. (I'd say 'not my jam,' but...) I couldn't find the price of the tasting on the website, only that a $60 purchase would cover *one* tasting. Upon arrival, tastings were listed as the usual fee, $20 each. For a couple, this is $40, however, with a single ~$60 purchase, you're looking at cost of wine plus another $20 for the tasting. If you love the wine, the math works out, if you don't, stick to just paying for the tasting, because honestly the location and enthusiasm of the staff still make this a lovely experience. read more

I came here on Sunday at noon, so I don't know if it was because it was early or if everybody was indoors watching NFL But the ambiance was excellent- outdoor seating, overcast with a slight breeze. The balance of the flight was well thought out, and not just due to the styles, but each glass was comparable to the one before and after it. My favorites: 2019 Graciano - fruit forward, jammy, medium-full body. Just enough baking spices, vanilla, and oak were you can have more. Imagine a cab franc with less oak, and fruitier 2019 Chardonnay- apricot, apples, grapefruit rines and crispy. Balanced overall in the palate, with slight complexity in the finish. Delightful, and screaming to eat it with a nice white sauce on pasta or seafood. read more

Parking isn't the easiest but that's not the Winery's fault. We were told that this is a wine tasting spot only so there was nothing to eat. So come with a bit of a full stomach. And to ask for Bailey. I think Bailey was unavailable but we still had a fantastic time drinking here. We were lucky enough to have their Rose, and you cannot miss the opportunity to have it. Also, my boyfriend and I are not wine connoisseurs, but the staff helped us every step of the way. But after a couple of sips, you do wish that you can order something to nibble on. A bit pricey, luckily my boyfriend and I saved up for holiday outing but we would not come here without some extra spending money. They have a club membership but we were only here to visit family.
