Playa Life IV - Beautiful houses

Playa Life IV

[Long but thorough, please read.] My niece rented a house from Playa Life IV and could not say…read moreenough great things about them. Since I live locally, I helped her find a home, move, and spoke with Playa Life while setting up her lease and the next lease. The entire staff was warm and welcoming, and the house was beautiful. When I first went to see the house, it was still occupied by the prior tenants and I was a little bit worried because they were very messy and it was clear that they didn't clean. I went back to see the house again when my niece moved in, and it was immaculate. Everything was cleaned from top to bottom, I could tell that even the walls had been cleaned. Everything was repainted and was overall beautiful and looked brand new. When COVID hit, my niece was afraid to go out, I sent things to her, but I was super surprised when she sent me a photo of all the food, cleaning supplies, and toilet paper that management had already sent her. It was so nice to see and management company care about their tenants. When anyone came to the house to fix something or bring things, they wore a mask and made sure to clean as they went and didn't get too close. She didn't get all of her security deposit back, despite her and her roommate seeing clean people, but that's expected. They hire cleaners to clean every square inch of the house after every lease, they repaint the house so everything looks sparkling clean and new. Anyone who expects to get their entire security deposit back is quite frankly delusional. I was more than happy to sign another lease for my niece I wouldn't want her renting from anyone else.

Management will blatantly lie and blame you for everything and find ways to take your money…read more We lived in an apartment that was next to the main entrance from the parking lot at la loma. Our kitchen window was broken and they tried to pin it on us, saying that the on-site manager saw several people partying in our apartment when in reality nobody was even home that night. It wasn't until we showed them multiple pieces of evidence and a police report that they backed off but they still charged us for window repairs because it was "in the lease". No apology or anything for blaming us and trying to snake our money by lying. Super shady. Maintenance requests will end in charging you for every little thing done to the place. One good thing to come out of living here for a year is that I will now carefully read every single line of every lease I ever sign from now on. Bottom line, DONT RENT FROM THEM!

I measure how sleazy an apartment complex is by how hard they try to screw you on the security…read moredeposit when you leave. This place takes the cake. My son rented a one bedroom at the Skyview on Camino Pescadero with two of his friends. They spent almost an entire day after moving out to make sure the place was clean. First of all, the complex charges the tenant $40 per hour for an "evaluator" to look at the place. They charge a painting fee for any scuff marks they find. They also have a worksheet listing fifteen or twenty items for each room and these things are so petty. You don't just get a charge for cleaning the stove, you get separate charges for each component. For example, separate fees for cleaning the stove top, cleaning under stove burners, cleaning stove hood and light, cleaning inside oven, cleaning the back and side of oven and cleaning the oven racks/broiler pan. All together, the maximum charge just for the stove can be $42. My son lucked out and only had to pay $29 for a stove they cleaned before they left. Cleaning the back of an oven? Really? There is a potential charge of $20 per room for washing windows, separate charges (per room) for not cleaning switchplate covers, washing the window screens, cleaning the mirror on the medicine cabinet, etc. If you do stay here, don't forget to dust the top of the door frames when you leave because that will cost you $20. BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Then there is the two days downtime they charge for cleaning the place. Another $107 bye bye. This place is ridiculous....
