First thing I'll say is that I think everyone at this clinic means well, but my overall experience…read morehere over a period of 4 months has not been ideal and has caused many low points and frustrations. For anyone on TRT or thinking about starting treatment, please understand both the beneficial and catastrophic things that can happen to your body when either your testosterone or estrogen levels are out of balance. This is true for both high and low levels of both hormones. The reason I decided to switch clinics was for three primary reasons. 1) Ageless Male had gotten my most recent blood work that revealed my testosterone levels were too high (1200+ pg/mL) and that I needed to drop down to a level closer to the reference range of 600-800. Fair enough, even though I personally believe this to be a bit low and I was even asking to be bumped up the week before. Secondly, my estrogen had come back at 28 pg/mL, which some may consider a bit high and consider increasing their usage of an AI. Something felt wrong and fishy. This is when I decided to check out "The Man Clinic" in Thousand Oaks and discovered that the bloodwork I had received from Ageless Male was WAY OFF. My real testosterone levels were 855 pg/mL, so if I had decided to come back to Ageless Male for another round of treatment and they dropped me 400-ish points of testosterone like they had planned, I would've been back where I started before treatment!!! Secondly, my estrogen tests from The Man Clinic revealed that I was actually at 18.5 pg/mL, which is at the very bottom of the reference range. This is because they use a more accurate (and expensive) test called a Sensitive Assay Estradiol test. 10 pg/mL of Estrogen may not seem like much, but for those who are sensitive to the effects of estrogen like myself, prescribing incorrect treatment based on faulty numbers can mean the difference between really feeling the therapeutic benefits of TRT and completely crashing your estrogen, hormonal levels, libido and mitigating all the positive benefits you aimed for before starting TRT in the first place. 2) The second reason I decided to switch clinics was because Ageless Male is not allowed to prescribe more than 4 treatments a month due to previous legal issues, meaning if you want to split your weekly dose into two (which I recommend for anyone wanting to feel more stable and not spike their hormone levels)... it is quite inconvenient to have to come in once a week for a 5-minute shot. 3) Lastly, I always felt a little rushed at Ageless Male. My first day going for bloodwork and the second day I came in for my first treatment, I was in and out within 5 minutes. Granted, the people here always took their time to answer my questions, but I felt I always got a short response and there should've been a lot more thought going into altering doses and treatments for something that can potentially be life-altering, both good and bad, depending on how the treatment is prescribed and planned. I felt throughout my time at Ageless that I had to really do all of the research on my own and many times went against the recommended prescription as it did not align with both the results I was feeling as well as many of the best practices that are discussed in the online TRT community as well as at other clinics. To anyone on TRT or thinking of starting treatment, I advise you to really do your research. Regardless of where you decide to go, no doctor is going to take into account the priority of your health as much as you can. TRT is a long-term commitment and whenever you are altering and adjusting your body's natural hormone levels, it is imperative that you know what you are getting yourself into and find someone who you trust to have the knowledge required for your treatment to be successful.

I am upgrading my rating because I believe he will be making communication a priority for future patients and their families to help circumvent any issues that may arise in their care, sooner than later. And no, he did not ask me to write an amended review.

It mushroomed from one staff member diagnosed with COVID-19 approximately 5 weeks ago to 39 residents, 29 staff members and three residents' deaths by the time I left August 12, 2020. Two of the rooms that I was in during the last few weeks of my stay had serious insect infestations, including cockroaches. Management was informed, but demonstrated an inability to implement even basic control measures to eliminate the infestations. Fnding an insect in your water glass is less serious than contracting COVID-19. However, it reflects ayuu cavalier attitude regards basic hygiene standards. That will, quite predictably, cause a repeat of this mini epidemic this coming flu season. It's definitely not a place to trust with the care of your loved ones.
