This is the only USCIS location that I've ever been to for interviewing my green card and…read morecitizenship. I have a good experience here. In a normal circumstance, I'd say I recommend this location but you can't really choose so good luck. You can only come inside 15 minutes before your appointment. I always came 30 minutes early and wait in the car to be sure I won't late. There's a lot of parking too. You need to show them your appointment notice for them to let you in. The security guards are serious but polite. After going through security, you need to go to the check-in booth so that they can notify your interviewer that you're there. Then you would go wait in the waiting area. The waiting area is spacious and usually doesn't have many people. You'd probably wait about 15 minutes before the officer calls you in. If you come in for a citizenship interview and you pass the test, the officer will tell you to wait in the waiting area to receive more information regarding the oath ceremony appointment. The 2 officers that interviewed me for my green card and citizenship were very nice and friendly. They made the interviews less scary. Side note: if you need to reschedule your interview (citizenship interview in my case), call the number on the interview notice. A representative will send the request over to the local office. You'll get a confirmation email saying they'll honor your request to change the appointment. This means you don't have to go to the interview anymore. They might not schedule you a new interview date until the original one has passed so if this is the case, you can even attend the original interview date if you can make it.

I also booked the chapel for 20mins , which has minimum 20 guests other than me and my husband, for the ceremony. Along with license, the chapel booking has a fee. The wedding was a smooth experience. I got the license the morning of my wedding with my husband, came later in the afternoon for my ceremony, and got married :) There is an indoor chapel and outdoor area, and I preferred indoor for privacy. It is also beautifully decorated. And only need for 1-2 witnesses. And then I went back to get the signed marriage license two weeks later and received it for a minor fee.

I told him my side of the story, but he couldn't care less and aggressively suggested I dismiss the case by emailing him, and once I did, he hung up. They are NOT on your side and they should be fired, especially Steve Nguyen, because there's zero reason for them to be there.

March 2025, the Fed government moved the citizenship swearing-in ceremony to the USCIS parking lot…read more(effective March 2025), It was done with very short notice, The Federal gov abruptly cancelled the contract with Campbell's Heritage Theater which had been the location for decades. Volunteers would be available to assist new citizens in completing their voter registration forms after the ceremony. The volunteers were unable to assist at the parking lot per the USCIS and this is no longer a special event for those who have waited years to become US citizens. It is a very sad and disappointing to those who expected a memorable ceremony for this most important day, their first day as a US citizen. Attempts to reach the San Jose USCIS office to ask how they made this decision with such short noticed, were unsuccessful, connecting with human is virtually impossible. God help America. THE SETUP SJRO is located on N.1st Street and is the regional headquarters for both: (1) Child Care Program Licensing (CCP); and, (2) Children's Residential Program Licensing (CRP). The San Bruno Regional Office (SBRO) is the nearest regional headquarters for the Adult & Senior Care Program Licensing (A&SC) 35 miles away. However, there is an A&SC local sub-unit also located here with the CCP and CRP regional offices. CCL MISSION STATEMENT The mission of CCL, "To promote the health, safety, and quality of life of each person in community care through the administration of an effective collaborative regulatory enforcement system." These CCL offices provide the local interface for individuals interested in being providers - setting up facilities to provide the direct care to the vulnerable client populations of our state: the young, the disabled, the elderly, and those with terminal conditions. LICENSING PROGRAM ANALYST CCL employs a virtual "army" of monitors-inspectors-investigators known in state classification parlance as "Licensing Program Analysts" (LPAs). For the last five (5) years, LPA Academies have almost exclusively been conducted in Sacramento or Monterey Park (East L.A.) because of the specific metrics needed to conduct an LPA Academy that up til now only these two (2) geographic locations were able to provide CTS. The positive training-metrics that SJRO now brings to us includes, but is not limited to: * Room Set-Up Metrics - most importantly, the room is of a size, and with the flexibility of movement of tables and chairs, so that we can implement the best arrangement that is conducive to the training we conduct for the LPAs * Business Location - not as important, but certainly a factor, is the plethora of nearby restaurants and hotels that we can utilize that make it easier for trainers and trainees to come here for training * Friendly local staff - we get everything we need to conduct our training because the local staff and managers provide us the support we need. ONE SUGGESTED MAJOR IMPROVEMENT The ONE main factor this location needs to improve/update is it's technical infrastructure (especially considering their staff is working with WiFi-enabled tablet-laptops), and that we would love to see improved, is to create a WiFi environment in this building which would make it so much easier to conduct training. We literally have to lay down Category-6 LAN connection cables from the data-ports in the walls, string them along the tables, have to use several routers, have to use a dozen or more surge protectors, check that connectivity is working with this configuration, and THEN duct-tape everything - cables, surge protectors, routers ANY tripping hazards due to the foregoing, etc. All of these "hard-wiring" headaches would be obviated if we had WiFi (and while in this realm, some well placed floor-outlets sequenced throughout the floor). Just sayin... THE LOWDOWN All things being equal, SJRO has proven to be an excellent location for us to come to in order to fulfill our mandates of providing training to new staff at a location that is able to minimize travel for new staff located in the South Bay region.

Today the Employment Development Department has frustrated me enough to want to go in here and most likely other places to spread my awful opinion of my last few interactions with them. I was recently unemployed and have filed for Unemployment. I was then pushed back due to issues with my ID, so I went through the proper channels and sent in everything that they requested. This took 2 weeks of time, multiple submissions, multiple payments for mail, and multiple calls. Finally, I called and received the notification that I was approved on July 28th. I started the settlement on the 13th. This is my first time filing for unemployment so I did not completely understand what was needed to qualify and to stay qualified (turning in certifications of proof of me looking for work). Because I started the application on the 13th, that is when they start the certification review process, NOT the day you are approved. So when I began filling out the certification form online, they are asking me if I looked for work between the two weeks of July 13th - the 26th. Again, I had only been notified that I was approved on the 28th nor did I know that this was a requirement. I said no, I wasn't looking for work, I was solely focused on the rigorous process of turning in all my paperwork for the ID correction process to be approved in the first place from the weeks of the 13th to the 26th, until I got confirmation of my approval. So now I am disqualified for unemployment and the last person I talked to from EDD to ask about my confusion in regards the disqualification, told me that it is what it is and hung up on me and told me that I have everything I need when I still had a hand full of questions. I personally feel like the EDD department makes it very difficult on purpose to successfully apply for unemployment. The less people who apply successfully, the more time and money they save. Sure, they could have faster ways of exchanging information or submitting required documents like email, or through their website. But no, everything is required via mail. Or they could have helpful employees at the other end of the line who could help you understand why the process is the way it is but instead they have people who hang up on you. Not to say every employee in the EDD department is bad, I have had decent interactions with a few of them but my last 3 interactions have been dreadful and this last one felt like the final straw. It almost feels like making it difficult is part of their job so people lose the will and motivation to apply, reapply, and receive what I thought was what people who were facing unemployment are supposed to receive. Anyway, this is my first time filing for unemployment so what do I know, but this was not a good time. I will continue to apply and fight through the nonsense that is the Employment Development Department. For the EDD employee that hung up on me, I hope one day you become unemployed just so you can fully understand how it feels to be on the other end, apply for unemployment and it be frustratingly difficult for you to successfully do so. But then eventually land on your feet and ultimately have a pretty successful life. Other than that, I wish you no harm. Just an obstacle to help you maybe relate or empathize in the future to the people I believe you're supposed to help.
