"Acqua & Grano" has two shops in the city: this on at Portoni Borsari, and another one in the district called "Borgo Trento". Ingredients are terrific, the flavors are excellent and everything is prepared following a really healthy philosophy (that you can read ok the wall once you enter the place). There are many choices of pizza al taglio and obviously they make them fresh. The place is small but it looks nice. Prices are kind of steep but you cannot deny that the quality is remarkable. The owners were fantastic and walked us through the menu and gave great recommendations. They also cater for the more health conscious with vegan pizzas. in fact, one thing we noticed whilst in Verona was that lots of restaurants catered for vegetarians and vegans and there were lots of choices, but this did not apply to me as I eat meat! The restaurant is different from other pizza takeaway shops as you choose various rectangular slices of pizza rather than buy just one large round pizza. The slices are very generous and four slices is more than enough as the pizza bases thick and fluffy and more of a focaccia base. Also, the price of your food is dependent on the weight of the food. For example if you buy a heavy slice of pizza with lots of ingredients cheeses truffles et cetera it weighs more than a standard margarita slice. The toppings were amazing and incredibly varied. in fact the toppings on offer were nothing like I had experienced in any pizzeria anywhere in the world. My particular favourite was the sausage with smoked cheese, margarita pizza with curried potato, and the salami pizza was amazing. My girlfriend had a pizza tasted just like bruschetta. If you are in Verona and do you fancy pizza this is the place for you!!

The only downside for me is that seating at the bar consisted of bar stools. Without back support. Which I have always hated and which hurts my back. It's also pretty tight in there when they're at capacity. Drinks (4/5): Since this is a wine bar, you know what to order. We had glasses of rose. Not the heaviest pour but the price was solid. If you're not looking for wine, they also have things like Aperol Spritz. Food (4/5): You won't find hearty fare here but you will be able to munch on a lot of small plates. I'm talking things like mini sandwiches, croquettes, meatballs, salads, etc. Which is exactly what we did. We shared a couple of tapas between the two of us. It was filling and did the job.
