My friend and I stayed here over 4th of July weekend and we loved it. The pool area is awesome. The bar tender brought popsicles, fruit and cold face towels around. It's very peaceful. Only thing that would make it better is if it was adults only. The room cleaning staff was awesome too. The suites were 2 bedroom apartments with their own bathrooms and a full kitchen. This was a cool surprise. In the evening the staff brought fresh muffins to the kitchen for the morning. I thought that was a great touch. They did a turn down service and left chocolates on our pillows. We had arrived several hours early too and they let us check in early which was really awesome. They don't have direct beach access here, but they do give you cards to get free chairs at South Beach a block over. However, it tends to get overrun with smelly seaweed. So we opted for the pool mostly. Everything is walking distance or a short Uber. There are a couple great eateries close by. They also gave us a welcome cocktail card for the tipsy rooster next door. You may also see a few resident iguanas hanging out by the pool. We got a kick out of them.

    Muffins and chocolates provided nightly!

We planned a trip to Key West and decided to stay here. We had a two bedroom suite and it was so huge. Each room had its own balcony and the sitting area and kitchen were beautifully laid out, plus another large balcony with a view of the pool. It was definitely a plus to have a washer and dryer in the suite as well. The staff were so friendly and welcoming and it was so nice to have them turn down the beds and bring chocolates, ice cream, and muffins for us to enjoy! Would definitely recommend this hotel. Nikita was such a pleasure to deal with when checking in too! Very friendly and gave us lots of information about the city.

This place is amazing!!. I booked a two bedroom, three bath, split level pool view room for my friend and I. It had two beautiful rooms with queen beds. The "master" had a huge walk in shower and pool view, while the other had your standard tub and no view, but was equally appointed. There was a living room area downstairs as well as a full kitchen. Mind you, there were very few plates or utensils and only one pan, so don't expect to cook a meal there unless you request more. They deliver muffins, mini dove bars , and water every evening. There's coffee and tea in the room as well There's a little convenience store right down the street so you can get odds and ends (very little selection, no eggs, bacon or bread) We found we had everything we needed there. Made for a light breakfast. We always had leftovers when we ate out so we'd go back for lunch and a cool down before going out for the evening. They so have a poolside happy hour daily with wine and beer (all free but remember to tip) The front desk service was great! Polite, knowledgeable, efficient. The maids were like ghosts, never saw them , but everything was always made up and stocked up. The pools are nice. Side by side. There's music all day but not too loud. Really, we couldn't of asked for more!

Enjoying my stay at Santa Maria Suites in Key West!

We loved our stay here! So relaxing! Gray pool with Souther hospitality that included wine & fruit cups plus muffins! A quiet location within walking distance to all of the highlights of Key West! Perfect for 2 couples or a family. Great on suite with separate bedroom & bath. Sleeper Sofa! Updated kitchen & laundry room with an iron. It was a wonderful stay!

I've been to key west a few times and once I found this place there's no question this is we're I book It's fun to bring another couple the grocery store is right across the street so you can stock up your kitchen and the room and complex are beautiful I love the free dove bars and exactly the washer and dryer so I pack light

    Kitchen area!

It was major problem for us. second night they moved us to our room which has broken AC And gave us boxed fan to cool off. Front desk manager is clueless and don't know how to handle issues and he has kids working for him who do not know how to handle anything. They are like teenagers. I would never ever stay there again and warn anyone not to there. Oh you will wake up 5am because of dumpster trucks getting the trash and it takes like 20 min. We wish we had checked out and stayed at Marquesa hotel instead. But everyone was at the same hotel for the weekend so we stuck it out. For the price point, ones expectations are commensurate and this place was not even in the same universe as other hotels charging the same rate. The hotel is right on the water but in key west, the same can also be said for a gas station. Right away you know there's a problem because the elevator to reception smells like rotting seaweed (sargassum). The reception area seems like a guest room that was adapted and its small and dark and doesn't work. Then you get to the guest rooms from the year 1985 with chair railing and crown molding that has never seen a magic eraser in its life. Covered in 40 years of dust and who knows what else. The blinds have never been dusted or replaced in 40 years. Are you getting the picture? The head board had mystery smears on it. Floors were filthy with 40 years of accumulated dust. We dared not step one toe into the murky pool. We watched as guests sat there for hours, drink after drink, and never got out. Not even to use the bathroom? Ewwww. Every day the streets flood with high tide and poor civil planning so coming and going from the hotel means wading in ankle deep water and probably sewage, which is probably why the elevator smells so terribly. No wonder all the associates there seem so sad. I would be too if I worked there. I was sad for the resources and time spent here that I wont get back.

On top of that the room is almost closet sized with an exposed shower and sink which makes it feel very humid in the room. The shower also hadn't been cleaned with a piece of old soap stuck to the floor and bug crawling under the pillow when i moved it.. I brought it to the attention of the man working the front desk who first told me it was a queen. The GM came on later that evening and admitted that it wasn't a queen and offered us a slightly larger rom but same size bed. Again the sink was in the room and it was stuffy and humid which made it hard to sleep more than four hours. I canceled the room after one night and tried to get my money back, but they've refused. Do not stay at this hotel. The "queen room" is basically just a hostel at hotel prices. $260 a night in my case.

The grounds of the hotel are lovely, the bed was amazing, and the pools were a lovely respite from the crowded streets and heat of the city.
