First... They have all the candy. I mean it. There were or s in here I literally haven't seen since I was 5 years old (as of this writing I'm 50.). So yes, all the candy. And reasonably priced for all considering how rare it all is. They are only open on weekends so plan your trips accordingly, but I highly recommend the "cold hot chocolate" as an impulse buy at the cash register. Several hundred calories be damned - that was the best chocolate drink I've ever tasted! Also, you have to buy on site. Bummer. Although the experience suggests this to be mandatory, it would've been nice to pick up / order missed items online. They used to do this but it wasn't profitable so they expanded their on-site offerings instead. The host whose name escapes me was in for me to e and passionate about this store & its mission. Worth a visit - especially if you like candy :) We stopped in here on our quick visit to the town. The structure itself is interesting and nice to look at in the daytime. I loved that it actually looks like a castle. You walk in one door and out the other, so there is a bit of a path you follow as you go through the store. There is A LOT of candy in there, mainly candy that is from the past that you can't find many other places and specialty items (like fancy jelly beans). These are priced according to that rarity as well. I am not much of a candy aficionado so I didn't see anything I couldn't live without but I did get a cute Christmas pouch of jelly beans for a gift. Stopped in to see this small town. So cute. Santa's candy castle was a must stop and I will tell you they have the best popcorn. I purchased a bag of the Cajun Cheddar. The cheese on this popcorn was thick and it melted in your mouth. The cajun flavor had just enough kick! The cost was $5 which I thought was a little pricy for the size of the bag but after eating it I wish I had bought more. Santa's Candy Castle is super neat, and there is lots of candy inside. The outside looks like a real castle, so you can't miss it from the road. You'll find everything from Pez -- including some vintage Pez dispensers -- to candy cigarettes. Yes, apparently candy cigarettes are still made, and you can find them here! I had to stop and wax nostalgic for a bit in front of the candy cig case, and remember a time when I was young and would pretend to be an adult while I puffed the powdered sugar on my candy cigarettes. Those were some good and innocent times. Old-fashioned candy, sour candy, gummies, jawbreakers, chocolate, lollipops with scorpions in them: You will find it all here. There is also a candy counter where you'll find the freshly made chocolates and bonbons. They will let you try anything in the candy case, so ask for a sample! We asked for a sample of sour cherry candies, and they gave us five! They are super generous here. If you're here, you MUST try the frozen hot chocolate. It's delicious and comes topped with whipped cream. Also, it is huge. If you ask them, they will split one and put it in two separate cups. That's what we did, because no child needs 20 ounces of chocolate, frozen or not. read more

They've got everything a kid could love! It's so cute! From the outside it looks tiny. I could not believe the amount of people inside. The line was huge. The prices seemed comparable to other candy shops. The kids were buying these $7 cards to do things on the computer. I think they were talking to Santa. They make flavored popcorn and fudge. They've got old and new candy The great thing about tonight is, they were roasting chestnuts over the fire. OMG! I was fascinated! I've never gotten the chance to do this! What a fun place with lots of goodies. Its fun to see candies you used to eat when you were a kid, brings back such good memories. They have one room with just jellie bellies its pretty cute. They also have some unique candies like the lollipops with scorpions yikes! The place inside has a fireplace all decorated for Christmas. The outside looks like a castle so a great spot to take pictures. They have a spot also where they have hot chocolate and frozen hot chocolate. They have many flavors of the hot chocolate. What a cute little place! They have a very large selection of candy. There is a room devoted to Jelly Belly and one is devoted to Pez. There are two others rooms filled with new and unique candies and old nostalgic candy. They also have homemade candies and FROZEN HOT CHOCOLATE! It was so delicious! This is a must stop on your tour of the Town of Santa Claus. Next to Holiday World, I would call this little gem #2 on your tour. Created for kids and adult-kids, this adorable castle on Christmas Blvd. down the road from Holiday World is packed FULL of delectables of all kinds including every candy cane flavor you can think of, cookies, licorice, ice cream, coffee, smoothies, FUDGE, packaged candies, jelly beans, numerous Pez dispensers for you collectors, and oh...did I mention the FUDGE?? They also have a huge selection of collectors items and toys which are not just limited to Santa Claus or Christmas but include Disney, Pixar, Dream Works, Hannah Barbera, Star Wars, etc. They also have a wonderful selection of decorator items during each holiday season. When you're visiting, make sure you visit the gumball machine room where you can spend several minutes watching your gumball purchases go through these electronic mazes to get to you...lots of fun for the kids! They're also great about planning events and contests for the kids so call ahead to see if there is something you can get your little one involved in. We were lured into Santa's Candy Castle because you can buy discounted Holiday World Tickets here. ($7 off). I then quickly repurposed a portion of the savings into a giant frozen hot chocolate which was excellently delicious and definitely rivals Serendipity 3 (also known for their fabulous frozen hot chocolate). They had a lot of entertaining Christmas themed games and memorabilia from popular films. They were missing a few of my favorites, though. I wonder if it has something to do with copyright and expensive of carrying various products, but I digress. They've also got an area where kids can use computers and write letters to Santa. I only give them four stars because I wish that there had been an actual Santa there (at his vacation home perchance?) instead of only statue-Santa and that there were more activities, perhaps for adults. Decent, but touristy diversion in Santa Claus, IN. Obviously the place is filled with candy - mostly pre-packaged stuff along the walls. A decent counter-area tho, which offered numerous flavors of popcorn, and homemade taffy, fudge, etc. There's one big wall with b & w photos of famous Santas (called the Santa Hall of Fame) and a nice little section of X-mas books as well. The place could be so much more, though - maybe a nice mural of Santa's workshop, or diorama, or the like. But it'll definitely satisfy your sweet tooth! read more
