We were greeted immediately and seated within about two minutes. Our server arrived at the table within another three minutes with waters in hand, which was a strong start. Unfortunately, cleanliness became an immediate and serious concern. Even for a busy Friday night, the floors were visibly filthy and littered with food. More concerning, I observed roaches on the floor. When I brought it to the staff's attention, I was told it was "normal for this time of year." That response was completely unacceptable for a restaurant. At that point, I probably should have left, but since we were already seated, I decided to try the food. The salsa was downright disappointing, somewhat sour and easily among the worst I've had in Little Rock. One interesting touch: food is delivered by a robot. It was entertaining to watch and presumably helps reduce some of the server workload. That said, my drink still sat empty for much of the meal, which was frustrating. Cheese Dip -- $5.50 (small): Surprisingly good. It was creamy, thick, and flavorful. My only complaint is that I should have ordered the large. Quesa Birria Tripleta -- $17.95: This was difficult to rate because it was a mix of great, average, and disappointing elements. The tortillas were excellent crispy throughout, with the satisfying crunch birria should have. The meat was average and tasted good, though it needed more cheese. The consommé however, was the biggest miss: bland and flavorless. In a birria dish, the consommé should be a star, but this tasted more like plain soup. The rice was actually very good well-seasoned and perfectly cooked, with far more flavor than the consommé. Kids' Macaroni con Queso -- $6.25: It appeared to be Kraft Easy Mac, but honestly, that worked here. Our five-year-old ate every bite without complaint, which is a win for any restaurant serving a picky eater. Strawberry Razorback Margarita -- $9.00: Not much strawberry flavor, but it made up for that in strength. This was a generous pour; they definitely did not skimp on the alcohol. Our total for two adults and one child was $75. That feels steep, even today, for what was ultimately average Mexican food. I truly wanted to like Santo Coyote the cheese dip, rice, tortillas, and strong margarita showed potential, but the cleanliness issue and the staff's response to it overshadowed everything else. I can't recommend it based on that experience alone. Try at your own risk. Food is a 3.5/5 but I have to take the roaches into account so overall I'll give a 2/5. read more

Great place to eat. The cheese dip is a tasty white queso, a little on the runny side but good flavored. The lunch menu is reasonably priced and has great options. I got the chimichanga and it was good. Beans could have a bit hotter. The chicken fajitas were seasoned and cooked very good. The service was great. The food is overall average--but overpriced; they bring you the smallest bowl of salsa, and then don't come back to refill it;, and the margaritas don't have a whole bunch of limey flavor. So, I understand that during Covid, I need to have some grace. However, I don't think my experience here has anything to do with Covid. My waitress was great. I had great service. The food, however, is bland and subpar. I ordered enchiladas and the Razorback margarita. The drink just tastes like cheap tequila. There's no pleasant flavor at all. The ground beef in the enchiladas has no seasoning at all. It's just loose ground beef rolled in a tortilla. The rice is so over cooked it looks like mashed potatoes. And the refried beans taste like they are straight out of a can. I live in this neighborhood and I haven't been here in 5 years because I didn't like it previously. This is the worst carry-out experience I have ever had, and I have been eating here for years! I ordered over $20 worth of food for pick-up.The portion size was almost half of what you would normally receive. They gave me to-go salsa in an extra small condiment cup meant for ketchup or mustard (see the attached picture). The salsa was enough for a total of 4 chips! Then to make matters even worse, they charged me for plastic utensils with a carry out order! This is just ridiculous! I wasn't Wow'd by my 1st visit here, but I left happy, full, and a little tipsy. The chips are crisp and warm and the salsa is decent, with a heat level just above a raw tomato. They have 99 yummy looking drinks on the menu, but a pitcher of their basic house margarita ain't one. A 6 year old could drink the whole pitcher and still build a complicated LEGO structure. Next, we moved deeper into the drink menu and found a few gems to warm us up. The four pot dip sampler was, okay. I liked the weird Chilli looking one and the queso blanco was ...er, cheesy. For us, Santo Coyote is mainly a place for lunch. They have my favorite beer on tap - Dos Equis Amber. The lunch menu is varied and everything is good. The service is also always good. Additionally we found random bits of corn and peas in a taco dish that did not feature those items; lastly, they failed to follow simple "no jalapeño/meat/etc" instructions.
