Average Tex-Mex style Mexican food. Salsa tasted like bad canned or generic grocery store fare. My litmus test is to order one cheese enchilada and one chicken enchilada ala carte. The sauces tonight or queso for the cheese and Verde for the chicken... Both were epic failures, both enchiladas the tortillas tasted like cardboard. The cheese was a white cheese that was glue like and not that tasty. The chicken was dry and without flavor. The Carona beer was fresh. I even commented to my dining companions, that this was the first time in. I don't know how long that I had a corona beer in a bottle that was not old. Service was friendly attentive, and really on top of their game. Our server was outstanding. I only wish everything else was as good as his service. Not much ambience here... The interior was dark, not well lit, no real atmosphere, just a lot of noise. It was interesting to note that one of my dining companions had eaten at the restaurant earlier in the week... Had ordered a fajita taco and asked for it to be served without tomatoes, the response was, we do not serve tomatoes with our fajita tacos. With that knowledge, she ordered the fajita taco again, and was shocked they have it filled with tomatoes, which she really does not like at all. Consistency seems to be an issue. read more

Should have visited Yelp before choosing a local Mexican food place near the theater where we were seeing a movie...it started good enough with fresh salsa and still-hot chips as soon as we sat down. Service was friendly and prompt. We placed our order and within a few minutes, our food arrived exactly as we'd ordered it. I ordered a combinatorial plate with taco, tamale, rice, and beans. Hubby ordered a steak quesadilla. Daughter ordered just chicken, rice, and cheese. Quesadilla had a number of pieces of gristle and very little cheese. The accompanying guacamole was the highlight of the meal with fresh onion and cilantro mixed with the avocado. Chicken was exactly as requested, on a bed of rice and drizzled with queso. Tamale had SO MUCH masa and hardly any meat...whoever prepared them skimped on meat to save money and will ultimately cost them customers. The tried to cover up their blunder with a huge pile of taco meat. The taco was rolled up taco meat in a store bought tortilla. This place didn't even measure up to Tex Mex. read more

And since they build an outside seating we decided to give it another try. And boy it was a mistake. First of staff weren't wearing mask when on their website said they do. There are several locations around Central Arkansas. Recently I had been meeting family/friends at the Cantrell location every other Friday. The food is average and they easily get overwhelmed if there is a full house (awe met there as a convenience) . The last time we went, we waited 20 minutes at our table before someone came by to take our order (we did not get a menu). There are usually 8 at our table. The orders were mixed up and not remedied. The next day I picked up 4 large cheese dips to take to a party. When I questioned if I received the correct size, I was treated with rudeness and disregard. When I brought this to the owner's attention, I did not receive a response. We won't be going back. There are many good places to eat. This is not one of them. read more

The Cantrell Rd location is nicer than the original and others around the city. The prices can't be beat for a night out for dinner and drinks. The quality is excellent for with most large dinners coming in for less than $10. I recommend the Shrimp Chimichanga dinner and a large Dos Equis. read more

We live in the Houston area, so our standards for Mexican restaurants are pretty high. We were so pleased and impressed by Señor Tequila that it prompted me to write my first Yelp review. The food was outstanding and very authentic! The chips and salsa tasted freshly made with the right amount of heat. There were also good vegetarian options on the menu as well. I would recommend the Pollo Asado and the Enchiladas Supremas. The side order of rice was incredible too- usually for me, the beans and rice are the fillers on the plate and I rarely eat it. However, here, we all finished our rice since it was that good! The service was great and had a great family friendly atmosphere. We'll definitely come back here next time we are in Little Rock! read more

I love Mexican and I realize I'm in Arkansas so my expectations were not high, but I wanted to like this place. I ordered an enchilada and a tamale. The enchilada was tasteless ground beef and a cold tortilla. Nothing else needs to be said about that. Mexican food is never supposed to be ground beef. The tamale looked frozen and the beans were from a can. Just awful. My children ordered from the kids menu and their corn tortillas on their cheese enchiladas were cold and stiff. Then when I got the bill they up charged each plate .75 to put cheese sauce on the enchiladas. The waiter asked if we wanted red sauce or cheese sauce but didn't tell us it was going to cost extra. It was $30 for one adult and two kids which wouldn't have been bad if the food was decent, but it wasn't. We won't be back. read more

Thought I would try again but I was even more dissapointed this time. The service was still about the same..slow unless you have a big party with you and the bar area smelled terribly. Food is fair, but not nearly as inexpensive as described. What is so disappointing and infuriating is the price of a margarita. I was there during happy hour, so I figured I would have a drink. A medium house margarita (they have 3 sizes???) was apparently $6.25 during happy hour. I was told they were $6.75 off happy hour. WHAT? The kicker..now catch this..instead of building in what is admittedly outrageous alcohol taxes here in Little Rock of 31.9%, they taxed in separately. NO ONE IN LITTLE ROCK DOES IT THIS WAY! So the medium margarita ended up costing me $8.50 DURING HAPPY HOUR! Apparently $9.00 is a good price off happy hour. So 4 steak tacos and a medium margarita ran me $17.25. Ordered take out. Food was still warm when we returned home. The guacamole was very good. Ordered the California burrito. Enough for 2 people to eat. I recommend the steak meat. The ground beef in my boys tacos wasn't very good. This is a good place to eat for a good meal. We are still looking for great Mexican cuisine:). read more

I usually love this place. Today we had terrible service. My husband ordered grilled fish tacos and got fried fish. The waiter was very adamant that it was grilled. We asked for it discounted and had the so-called manager come out. She was VERY RUDE. Finally, after almost an hour, not one, but two remakes of the meal came out. And to top it off, I found a hair in my beans. Will be going to the other Mexican restaurant from now on. read more

This is a great restaurant. The service is almost always great. The food is priced well. I go here often and each time I am left satisfied. They are super fast, I feel like I don't have to wait at all for food. I don't know how they do it, but this place is amazing. read more
