Mike no longer comes out with the crew, so they cut down the wrong tree the last time they came. They cut down a very large, healthy tree. They tried to convince me the tree was diseased, but when Mike walked the yard to determine the work that needed to be done, he didn't identify it as diseased. Then, they tried to convince me I was mistaken about which tree needed to be removed. I don't know much about trees, but I know the difference in my front yard and my back yard. The tree they took down was in my front yard. The dead tree was in my back yard. I recently tried to get them back out to take down the dead tree. After coming home from work to meet them twice, they cancelled on me at the last minute both times. I hope they can do a better job of managing appointments and communicating amongst themselves in the future.

When I saw the Everett workers outside, I asked them if they could trim the tree. I'm not sure if the tree was on their list or not, but they gladly obliged. They asked my neighbor exactly what she wanted done with the tree. I also mentioned to them about another tree that was leaning over the sidewalk, and they took that tree down too! Later on, I noticed that by mistake they took an orange cone that I keep in my parking spot so that my car doesn't hit the sewer grating. I called the company, and they brought it back the same evening! That's good service.

When I said, "that's not my property", he replied, "Well I'm sure your neighbor wouldn't mind if you cut them down." Seriously? A different gentleman from Everett came out several weeks ago for a quote on tree trimming and also tried to convince me to just cut the whole tree down. He was a nice guy, but the unnecessary up-selling is annoying and unprofessional. Oh, and he gave me a verbal quote and then sent me an official quote via email less than 5 minutes later (still sitting in my driveway) that was 10% higher than the quote he had *just* given me. So strange. By the way, the quote in both cases was right around 40% higher than the company I ended up using for my tree cutting and trimming needs. Moral of the story: shop around for quotes from multiple companies and you will likely find that Everett is by far the highest.

While we had contacted numerous companies, it did not become urgent until we realized 1 tall pine tree over 40 feet that was dead and had been dropping huge limbs. We contacted E & C Tree Services on Thumbtack. Erick responded the same day and scheduled an appointment to provide a free estimate. He offered us such an amazing price that we hired him on the spot. He performed the job the next day. What sets this company apart from others is Erick is very approachable and honest. I was the point person because my husband was at work, and as a woman, he did not look at me strangely. He gave me the same respect he would give anyone, and I appreciated that. While some companies were a no-show, no call numerous times, Erick kept every promise he made. The first day he came out, he protected us in making us aware of another tree that was dying and would have possibly been dead in 1 year. We were able to add this to the job. In comparison, the other companies never looked outside of the specified scope. I know nothing about trees, and I appreciated that Erick had forethought to mention this dying tree. The day of the job, Erick and his team arrived early, and they performed more than the initial scope and did not charge an additional price to do so. I tipped him; however, it was much less than the value of the overall job. I can tell in Erick's actions that tree cutting is about more than money for him; it is about keeping his customers safe and performing a job of high quality. As long as Erick has a business and we need trees or tree limbs cut, we will call him only. Beyond the awesome price, the level of customer service he and his team provide is priceless.
