We've been part of Sapientia Montessori for several years now. One of our kids went through the entire elementary program, and the other has been here since preschool and is currently in elementary--and I genuinely couldn't be more grateful for the experience. What makes this school stand out is the personal care and attention every child receives. It's not just about academics (which are strong), but about helping kids grow into confident, kind, and thoughtful individuals. At the center of it all is Ms. Kalika, the principal. She doesn't just lead--she sets the culture of the school in a very real and hands-on way. Her presence, values, and commitment to each child show up in everything the school does. We learned of Sapientia while waiting to move off the waiting list from a Montessori school in Austin. We wanted a solution for childcare for our toddler twins at that point, and we'd observed some of our friends' children exit their early years in Montessori with the calm confidence we wanted for our kiddos. At Sapienta, our girls were welcomed with kind hearts. The guides (teachers) provided the resources to not only build a foundation for learning but a love for it as well. This fostered our girls' ability to read by age four. Their enjoyment of books grew exponentially over the next 10+ years, helping place them in the gifted program. Their achievements weren't limited to language arts. They excelled in every subject as they transferred to public education for middle school. The nine years they spent at Sapientia Montessori--three of them with the school director as lead teacher in the elementary class--gave them a springboard into academic achievement. Today, that investment in their Montessori education has resulted in grades, test scores, and critical thinking that are getting them accepted into the country's top engineering and aeronautical programs. We eventually made it off the wait list for that Austin school, but we chose to stay at Sapientia for the community and dedication to a child-centered approach to learning. If you are looking for a school, this is it! We were blessed to find Sapientia for our child in 2nd grade. It is recommend starting earlier in toddler age to grow with the Montessori way. Our child graduates this year. We wish she could stay so much longer! Our child has been nurtured and cared for through her entire journey at Sapientia. This school has exceeded all our expectations. Sapientia has qualified and experienced teachers, a well-equipped classroom with Montessori materials and resources that are age-appropriate, focus on independence and self-directed learning allowing the children to explore and learn at their own pace, and most importantly, a supportive and nurturing environment where the children feel safe and comfortable to learn and grow. I highly recommend getting on the waitlist if you are even contemplating this school! Both our daughters attended Sapientia, an AMI certified school, for close to a combined 12 years, and thrived! Starting at age 2, they went through the toddler, primary and elementary programs before moving to traditional school for 6th grade. The Head of School, Ms Kalika, with her very hands-on "whole child" approach really sets the tone of this school in making sure that all teachers and students follow the authentic Montessori method. Classrooms are well-organized and uncluttered. Children are taught to work on their own and to be responsible by taking care of their own needs and belongings. Our girls learned through one-on-one lessons, observing and working with a mixed-age student group, lots and lots of hands-on practice and self-correction, all under the close supervision of their teacher. These qualities have enabled them to become self-directed learners. Since classrooms are mixed-age, the older children have the opportunity to teach and mentor the younger ones, who in turn learn to collaborate with and learn from their peers. A big part of our learning at the upper elementary (9-12 years) level was the incredibly enriching Montessori Model United Nations (MMUN) experience. Each participating student represents a specific country and plays the role of that country's delegate. Student delegates research and prepare position papers and speeches on complex topics like Cyber Security, the Arms Race in Outer Space, Protection of Global Climate, Food Security, etc. for the culminating MMUN conference in New York. As parents, we loved the small community feel and how everyone is friendly ,kind and gracious. The staff always goes above and beyond to make sure the child is emotionally comfortable and all their needs are being met. Our girls flourished at this school, both socially, and academically. We had no trouble transitioning to traditional school. Currently in high school and middle school respectively, both girls qualified for above-grade level curriculum when they moved to middle school. They have continued to excel ever since - an outstanding testament to the solid foundation for life that they gained at Sapientia. read more

We toured this location this morning, planning for when our infant is able to start at 18months Kalika is very knowledgeable and her school clearly focuses on the entire child development, not just education (as we current societal standards see it) but also Craig for others, learning responsibility and leadership as well as respect and compassion. We have not made a final decision yet and our daughter is not even a year yet so we have time, however, we wanted to highlight our tour observations. I know that for some the Montessori model is not ok. My recommendation is that you do your research. Do some reading on Maria Montessori and how and why she developed this way of formal education. The first 6 years are really key in development and set the tone for the rest of the child's mental dexterity and adaptability. Should we enroll our daughter here full time I will update the review after a few months with classroom interpretations. read more

My two older sons attended Sapientia and Cedar Park Montessori from 2017 until this year and we are really happy with the school. They loved their teachers Miss María Elena and Miss Josie. All the teachers are loving and caring, they have done absolutely everything to care and guide our children in their educational path. Our oldest is now on regular school, and he truly misses Montessori. I would recommend it to any parent that would like to teach their children critical thinking, independence, curiosity, leadership and give them the opportunity to learn on their own rhythm (children learn really fast when they are free to do so!) You have to know that this is a school, not a daycare. They use the school district's schedule, so you have to have a backup plan for those days off. Also, by now you have to provide all meals and snacks. If you have that flexibility, I think is worth give it a try. They truly are a great montessori school. read more

Our son attended Sapientia from January 2010 to August 2012. He thrived in the environment in every way -- top-notch education and social instruction. We were torn about his leaving, when life's circumstances conspired ... We do think that communication between parents and staff could be improved. We had some early challenges, but dealing with them directly resulted in a marked improvement. You will have to engage to be engaged, here. Our son started Kindergarten in public school late August, and we are already hearing from his teacher and others that he is "quite mature," and "very verbal," and "mathematically inclined," -- all things we know he learned through Montessori. He is extremely proud of his knowledge and abilities, and that has made us very happy with our investment in Sapientia. read more

Mrs Kallika the Director of the school is not a True Educator, She runs this as a Business and this is a great example of this., I am a Parent of a student who came out 2012 May. There has been a Pending Balance money that needs to be settled for us and with tons of Phone calls and Emails , i did not get any Response from them. She used very offensive and harsh statement inspite of my decent approach. Finally afer dragging for more than a 2 year period, they decided to dispatch the check, but the manner in which they handled this situation was very Unprofessional. I hope they learn the basics of Communications First , especially when they are handling Kids important few years of life. Please find a better school, its not worth the money. read more

We cannot say enough wonderful things about this school(s)! It took us a good year to finally decide on where our son should go to school and have absolutely NO regrets. We love the Montessori concept of developing 'the whole child', which our 4 year old son is thriving in. It is amazing to hear how enthusiastic he is about his school, teachers and lessons. He really enjoys it! This couldn't make us more happy. The AMI accredited Cedar Park and Sapienta campuses are not like any other Montessori in the area. What makes them stand out are those who run the schools. After talking to Mrs. Kalika, the Director, we were confident that this was the right choice. The rest of the Administration and our son's teachers have also over-exceeded our expectations. I really can't think of one negative thing to say. read more

My son attended sapientia very briefly, he didn't adjust well and all the director could advise was dropping him off and leaving without saying "bye"..now i know it takes time for children to adjust to new surroundings but the teachers weren't even accommodating...my son was not allowed to have a creative side while there and everything seemed much like a military camp. The directors and administrative staff there walk around "high and mighty" thinking they know best for every child, the director has a son that was in my childs class who i and other parents saw "bullying" children and when we talked to the director being the mother she said.." my son would never do that, he knows better" and left at that! for someone who "knows" all about Montessori and has many degrees in child development i expected more of a nurturing side, but shes always right and your always wrong with her. we since then took our son to another Montessori school where he is thriving and he adjusted very quickly...there are able to express themselves and have an imagination..the children also seem to be better behaved and aware of others. if you want a military camp for your child send them to sapienta. but if you want your little one to thrive and be happy i recommend not! read more

Let me say first that there are some important positive things about this school. The classrooms are open and bright. I always knew my children were safe when they were at school. The teachers and director are very pleasant. There are several after school / extra-curricular activites offered through the school. Hours are from 7-6, year round (with some exceptions for holidays and early closures). My advice to anyone considering this school: research Montessori philosophy thoroughly and think about how your child will react and thrive in this environment. It is very strict here - with no talking during lunch, children walking with hands behind their backs, etc (even 2 year olds!). Unfortunately, my children learned to despise school and I had to 'undo' their beliefs about what to expect at school. They now go to a school that is loud, fun, AND has strong academics - all important for my childrens' long term love of learning. In addition, it's important for me to partner with my childrens' teachers so I understand their approach, am able to provide input on progress, and ensure our goals for the kids are inline. This school always seemed very secretive and gave a feeling of being excluded and unwelcome in the classroom. Progress reports were meaningless (excellent reviews only to find out 2 weeks before year end that one of my children should be held back). There was absolutely no interest in partnering with the parents on education but rather always a feeling of dictatorship - the director knows best (including what foods are not acceptable for the children's lunches... and certain foods will be sent home, uneaten, with a note). Overall - OK for a daycare, although a little more pricey - but proceed with caution. read more

We have been at Sapientia Montessori since September 2014. We were nervous like any other set of parents to have our toddler starting a pre-school program. We have been so thrilled with our experience and here is why: Environment: The school my son calls his "big house." It is a very nice building that is warm and welcoming. The playground is nestled in a big oak tree. There is a nice courtyard in the center of the school and bright windowed classrooms surround this courtyard. Behind his classroom is a garden and toddler playground with an adorable in ground slide. Every morning we use the carpool lane, which I admit I was nervous about using at first, but how helpful it has been! We say goodbye to him and a friendly teacher helps get him out of the car and walk inside. In true Montessori fashion he is responsible for helping carry his items in. This alone has helped him feel confident and important! It takes me less than 2 minutes to drop off my son in the morning. The staff is always so welcoming and seem to have been with the school for sometime. A lot is to be said about a school staff with a low turnover! Teachers and friends: My son had LOVED getting to socialize with the other kids and everyday he is excited to "see MY friends." Whenever I pick up my son in the afternoon they are all running around together on the playground. His teachers have been beyond exceptional. They make every student feel special and really spend the time to make sure the parent is up to date on what is going on in the classroom and his progress. Since September we have had at least 3 in person or on the phone conferences to talk about his progress. His teachers helped him also potty train in less than a month and provided encouraging guidance along the way. He loves his teachers and likes to pretend he is the teacher at home. He has learned to clean up his activities, put away his toys, open his lunch containers, and dress himself. Many times his teachers have stopped me when I pick him up to talk with me about his day. It is so reassuring to know he is loved at his school and I feel confident I am leaving him in good hands every morning. We love our son's school and he does too. read more

My son studied in Sapientia till Kindergarten year and when he went to Public school for first grade, he was lagging behind. According to the director of the school they are 2 years ahead of kindergarten year so when they go to public school it is a breeze. read more
