We love the low staff turnover, the music and spanish programs, the outdoor play space, and the emphasis on play-based learning focused on responsibility and social-emotional development, without sacrificing academic and classroom expectations, taught by certified teachers with combined decades of experience. Everyday they LOVE to go, and it makes me feel comfortable leaving them in a place they genuinely love, with people that LOVE them too. It is a smaller school, and therefore you really get to know other parents and teachers. They communicate well, and use an app to send pictures throughout the day! They also offer aftercare program in case you have to work later (my kids don't want to leave aftercare). They have so much fun with learning, and spend ample time outside in the beautiful playground and covered, turfed area, oh, and a wonderful garden! I cannot say enough about the teachers and the staff, they are just true angels in earth, and we are so blessed and thankful for them. It has been a beautiful thing that they have gotten to teach two of our children, and we have made some lifelong friendships here.

We wanted a solution for childcare for our toddler twins at that point, and we'd observed some of our friends' children exit their early years in Montessori with the calm confidence we wanted for our kiddos. At Sapienta, our girls were welcomed with kind hearts. The guides (teachers) provided the resources to not only build a foundation for learning but a love for it as well. This fostered our girls' ability to read by age four. Their enjoyment of books grew exponentially over the next 10+ years, helping place them in the gifted program. Their achievements weren't limited to language arts. They excelled in every subject as they transferred to public education for middle school. The nine years they spent at Sapientia Montessori--three of them with the school director as lead teacher in the elementary class--gave them a springboard into academic achievement. Today, that investment in their Montessori education has resulted in grades, test scores, and critical thinking that are getting them accepted into the country's top engineering and aeronautical programs. We eventually made it off the wait list for that Austin school, but we chose to stay at Sapientia for the community and dedication to a child-centered approach to learning. Our daughter improved so much within a short period of time and it was measurable. We have been super impressed with the teachers and the higher level of academics. Kids at Challenger School are a year or more ahead of their peers who attend highly rated public schools. While the curriculum is excellent, what we love the most about Challenger School is how much our daughter's personality has blossomed. She has become more self-confident and independent. She was super shy and had major separation anxiety issues. Now she engages everyone in conversation, and she happily participates in school performances, speaking and singing in front of a crowd of her peers, teachers and other parents. We are super proud of her progress and achievements! Challenger School is costly, but worth every single penny! However, it may not be for everyone. It is a very structured environment. You won't find any hand-holding or coddling, as they strongly encourage independence and independent thinking. They teach every student about personal responsibility. It is the student's responsibility to make sure their homework is done on a daily basis and brought to the school, and they actually want the students to do their homework on their own. It sounds crazy, but my daughter truly loves doing her homework! We consider ourselves blessed that our daughter attends Challenger School. We couldn't be happier with the school and the teachers. From August through May, our daughter had eight different teachers in her classroom. That level of turnover made it very difficult for the classroom to have the consistency, structure, and experienced instruction we expected. At this age, children need a reliable presence to build emotional safety, trust, and developmental confidence. Instead, the classroom often felt unstable, and we saw noticeable changes in behavior during periods of teacher turnover and classroom stress. To be clear, this is not a criticism of every teacher. We are grateful for Ms. Jordan, Ms. Spivey, and Ms. McNulty, who cared for our daughter and did their best in a difficult environment. The issue, in our view, was administrative: hiring, training, supporting, and retaining teachers, as well as listening to parent concerns. We raised concerns earlier in the year and requested a classroom change, but we did not feel heard. When changes were eventually made, teachers were moved again, despite our desire for consistency. Over time, the repeated disruptions broke our confidence in the school. Several families ultimately chose to leave, which speaks to how serious the concerns became. We were disappointed there was no inquiry, exit conversation, or request for feedback after our departure. Without stronger administrative accountability, I worry other families may experience the same challenges.

The school itself is so clean, kept up, adorable art, they have a gym, a pool, library, art room. He's done swim lessons and in just a few weeks he's so great at it! They pick the coolest field trips to take the kids on, and have amazing events! But what makes this school so amazing is the staff, especially Ms. Kathie, I am so grateful to her for teaching my son numbers, writing, about animals, the weather but also how to stand up for himself and be a leader. How to be caring and considerate of others, and ask questions that help him figure out the answer. Most of all, he is PROUD of himself, and that confidence is no doubt there due to the help of him attending Abacus.
