Sapori Miami On a whim, my wife and I decided to go to Sapori Miami, located at 750 NE 125th Street in North Miami. Upon walking in, we noticed a very eclectic decor, especially for an Italian restaurant. Yes, there was a wall of various people eating Italian food and another wall of celebrities. Not so unusual. Then, there was a wall of music related things, including a wide mirror that has all the different parts of an electric guitar embedded in it. There is also a wall of record albums with a DJ booth in front of them. Then, there is the old style jukebox and a slot machine in the dining room! The dining room consists of well spaced tables and cute booths with old style vinyl covering. The ceiling lights are covered by upside down drums. There is an outside garden area as well. We were greeted by a lively waiter named Kevin. He gave us some great suggestions for food. We started with an appetizer of artichoke cacio e pepe ($16). 2 baby artichokes cleaned and roasted arrived on a plate with this creamy, decadent sauce on the side. It was a great combination of texture and flavor. For our mains we had two pasta dishes. The first was ferretti pasta, a kind of elongated fusilli, with shrimp, a creamy lemon sauce, and topped with chopped pistachios ($21). This was my wife's favorite. The pasta was cooked perfectly al dente and the shrimp, which were butterflied, were also cooked correctly. The sauce was light, creamy, and lemony. The pistachios added a nice crunchy texture. The second dish was squid ink linguini with clams ($22). This dish was jam packed with clams, both canned and fresh. The sauce was silky and tasted of the sea. The pasta, again, cooked al dente. For dessert, we ordered a warm chocolate chip cookie topped with gelato ($8.50). The cookie was warm with a gooey center and the gelato was very creamy and tasty. The restaurant features a full bar and serves brunch on Saturday and Sunday. We would definitely go back. read more

The service here is great and the ambiance is nice. I loved their decor and the outside area. Their white sangria is delicious. Their ceviche was not to my standards. It was very fishy and lacked juice and flavor. However, their bread and butter was delicious. The risotto and shrimp was spectacular. The prosciutto pizza was also amazing. I would go back but I will skip the ceviche. Servings are just right so don't expect to take anything home with you. read more

I took a visit here back in July for brunch , and I absolutely loved it! The ambiance was stunning I enjoyed looking at all the different structures and pictures on the wall. . The open air and private dinning is ideal. The brunch and lunch menus and indoor or patio are perfect for any time and day. This place is ideal for business, personal, romantic, or just to eat without fighting night club music just to have a conversation. Its perfect for just being. My mom and I came here expecting a nice meal, but instead got completely ignored. The restaurant was half-empty, yet after acknowledging us, the staff just kept walking past without ever seating us. We stood waiting far longer than anyone should, watching employees glance our way and then continue as if we weren't there. There's no excuse for this kind of indifference, especially when there were plenty of open tables. We finally gave up and left. Came for drinks. Ordered a cosmo. Tasted like grapefruit juice. Talked to the bartender and he insisted it was correct. Friend received the wrong drink. Then waited over 20 minutes to get a drink with no alcohol. Other friends complained their drinks were watered down. Great place for comfy outdoor coffee and breakfast/lunch--tables, couches, big fans to keep things cool, relaxed atmosphere, friendly folks, super coffee, ample free parking, and right next door to wonderful MOCA museum, too! I loved this place when it was Café Creme and love it now that it is Sapori. They've kept the essentials that make the site inviting during the day, and they are experimenting in interesting ways with more limited nighttime offerings. I plan to do every casual meeting here, and I hope the new owners enjoy great success so this gem stays available for a long, long time! read more
