Bill, the owner, had worked patiently and attentively with me and designer Lola Brooks to create a beautiful blue sapphire eternity band even when it was tricky to source the stones and still artfully fit them together for my small size finger. Seaver - which is right in the middle of the West Third shopping stretch, just a couple of doors down from Joan's - is a great reminder of that fact. It's one of those quaint shops which makes you sigh a breath of relief knowing options still exist to spy a gift or great find, without making another trip to a cookie cutter mall with the rest of the sheep. Specializing in clothing (designed by the owner, Nathalie), gifts and little treasures, there's something here for just about everyone. We stumbled in after brunch and were amazed by the variety of unique offerings the shop is nearly overflowing with - designer rubber duckies (we left with "decorator duck"), vintage stripper cuff links, stenciled leatherette checkbook and ipod covers in yummy pastel colors for spring, magnets, soaps, custom aprons (that give Anthropologie a run for their money), some beautiful things for baby, and of course, clothes and accessories. Not all of Seaver's clothes fit my taste, but aside from the super fab aprons that actually make you want to cook, her brocade jackets are beautifully sewn and well worth the price of admission. If you're trying to find a special gift for someone hard to buy for, this boutique is not to be missed - not that you could miss the beautifully painted black and white floral exterior. Nathalie is a super helpful sweetheart, there's something for just about every budget, and she'll even gift wrap it for you before you go. LA doesn't get much better than that.

A+++++ I cannot…read morebelieve I had never been here before! I have passed it many times. This time I walked in and the place was packed, and now I completely understand why. It's like a whole little world of jewelry in there. Huge diverse selection. Like a factory you would see on TV. I came in specifically to have a piece of my vintage family jewelry repaired, and I was genuinely shocked by how easy the experience was. They did the repair ON SITE, in a matter of minutes, and for an exceptionally reasonable price. Story time: What made this experience even more impressive was that I had previously taken the same piece to another jeweler in the valley, where I was told they would need to keep it for two weeks to solder a loop and the repair would cost roughly three times as much. Because this is a valuable vintage piece, I just didn't feel comfortable leaving it there for that long, especially when there was supposedly a jeweler on site and what I was asking would take 10 minutes. Something about it didn't sit right with me, so I trusted my instincts and took the piece home. Then: A friend then recommended this place, and what a difference. Fast, straightforward, reasonably priced, valet parking and, most importantly when you're handing someone something valuable and irreplaceable, they made me feel completely comfortable! And insisted that what I was asking for was so simple. They did it in moment and cleaned the piece!!! I really appreciated the honesty and the fact that they didn't turn a simple repair into some complicated, expensive ordeal. I walked out with my jewelry repaired and back in my hands within minutes. So glad I finally discovered this Beverly Hills institution. I will absolutely be back. Thanks guys!

Are there still good buys to be had? Sure. But given that they aren't all that great, it definitely isn't enough to put up with the worst service in the jewelry industry, with waiting forever for a bored associate who makes you feel like they're doing you a favor when "helping" you. Bring your patience and know that any help you get is likely to be from someone who can't wait to move on to another customer who might be spending more.

The owner always helps me select my gifts and guides me as to what is appropriate for certain occasions. I often meander around his store, which for the record, has merchandise stocked from floor to ceiling! Once I make my way back to the front, I am always greeted with the most perfectly gift wrapped pieces. I prefer to shop here over department stores for this reason.
