The 2nd girl advised me to call my insurance company. So, I did. The insurance company called the office and we did a 3 way call. Becky, who handles the insurance and billing was beyond rude. I never raised my voice, yet she was screaming at me. I asked her why she was so hostile & angry. She accused me of talking over her, which I didn't do. I ended up hanging up on her because she was so out of control. I will never be back to this office, which is a shame because everyone was pretty nice. One bad apple can ruin the bunch. UPDATE.... I just received a call from Dr. Thousands office. The Dr. had heard about what happened and how I was talked to and treated. His office was overly apologetic. They have dealt with the employee, appropriately and made things right. I have never written a review before and I really appreciate this office, caring about me, as their patient and not being alright with how I was treated. I struggle with severe anxiety when going to the dentist they agreed to prescribe me medication to make sure that I was comfortable. Upon arrival and going back into my room, I asked if I should take the medication now she said she didn't know what I was talking about or what it was that I was taking. Meanwhile, leading up to the appointment, they make a huge deal that I have to have someone present in case I fall and they don't want to be liable. Yet the dental assistant who is taking care of me, was not aware of my situation. Problem number one. However, she was very kind. Her name was Kathy and I had a good experience with her also. During my procedure, I had shooting pain and they had to give me additional anesthetic and we were able to finish the procedure. Again, THEY were very patient with me. Upon leaving, I asked if I would need to take any pain medication and they said all that you will need is Tylenol or Motrin. I said great! Three hours later the Novacaine has worn off, I've taken Tylenol and Motrin and I'm having severe shooting nerve pain in my face can't drink water or eat food. I called the dentist office and use the emergency extension and no one answers. I call back again and no one answers, so I leave a voicemail. Realizing that the office is going to close in the next 30 minutes, I have to hop in my car still somewhat sedated and in severe pain and drive up to the office. I walk in to five ladies sitting at the desk. Frustrated that no one could pick up the phone or return my call. I expressed my symptoms in detail and say that I need some medication and help. They say no problem. We will send it over to the pharmacy now, your doctors's gone, but we're going to have the other doctor. Call it in. Give it about 30 minutes. I get over to the pharmacy and all they've called me in as a steroid. I tell them that I need a stronger pain medication to manage my symptoms. They referred me to the emergency room. (I didn't come and spend $1700 on a crown to try and acquire Percocet...but was seemingly treated that way) Thank God, I go to the emergency room and I'm treated like a human being in pain and they give me what I need. $400 later mind you out-of-pocket The dentist office says that they've put a note for the doctor to reach out to me first thing in the morning regarding my emergency pain. No one reaches out to me. I have to call the office at 3 o'clock and I'm given an attitude and excuses. (Said they were busy with other patients....) Be careful going to this office. The doctor is great. The front office is unprofessional, rude, and incompetent.

While my hygienist has never had a problem with that request, she refused to do it and it was a more than 30-minute process to get her to understand. She even moved me to another room and caused my appointment to be moved to after another client because of this. One other issue which anyone might want to consider is cost. I believe they are higher but they cannot charge more than my insurance will allow. So, if you do not have insurance you might want to compare prices.

I went to check out and was told that I needed to pay the entire cost now, prior to the job being completed. I have never been asked to be pay in full prior to the work being completed. I offered to pay half of the bill now and the balance on completion of the crown. The attendant that I dealt with was rude an unprofessional in dealing with me. Previously I had been using a chain dentist, that was "in network" and had been given a treatment plan that was going to cost thousands of dollars. I moved, and Dr. Rhee came highly recommended so I decided to give him a shot. Not only was his staff welcoming and helpful, but after my examination, he explained that I didn't need the costly things that had been recommended to me. He was able to get me taken care of, and he was honest, upfront, and very thorough. If you need a dentist that truly cares about you and your smile, he is the one!
