I will be commenting on Denise Fugate. Denise was recommended to me by a friend when I was looking for someone nearby that is not outrageously priced. I have always left this salon feeling like a million bucks, but it doesn't cost anywhere near that. Recently, I had to cut some luxaries from the budget and went to someone else to get my hair done. BIG MISTAKE. It may only cost $10 for a haircut elsewhere, but it LOOKS like it! Denise fixed me up, good as new. The salon is clean and modern looking as they recently renovated. Everyone is friendly and up to date on the latest styles. I have had color, highlights, low lights, long hair cuts, short hair cuts, eyebrow waxing etc done.

I came to Denise after many years with the same stylist with whom I had a disagreement . I showed Denise pics and explained the cut I was looking for. I would say I had the most thorough consultation ever regarding the condition of my hair, the kind of cut I wanted, and a ton of styling and hair care tips to get the results I was looking for. The cut was great, I tweaked the style a bit, which I am sure to communicate to her next time. The place is clean, quiet, and totally professional. No yakety-yak among stylists about their boyfriends and where they were drinking the night before, ignoring the client. The attention is totally devoted to the client. Pricey, but well worth it. The guy never showed up. Finally one guy calls me up. Asked for a very simple cut. He then charged me 30. The prices on the wall were 15-20 for a "normal cut". That's just my experience.

This time I wound up at the Centerville location while out running errands. I had a miserable time. My stylist spent the whole time talking loudly about her gall stones and her medication making her have to pee a lot. She was also very rough and basically manhandled me the entire time, jerking my head suddenly in different directions. I asked her to clean up my beard, and when I got home, I discovered she had lined it all unevenly. When we went back for my wash & steam towel, she was very rough with my face & head, and she was also very rushed, like she was trying to get me out of there as quickly as possible. We were a little nervous at first but there was no need to be once Jessica started! She let our son watch dad get his hair cut, let him feel the trimmers on his head while on (the back side so it wasn't actually cutting) so he would get used to the feeling!
