I usually would go to Sarasota Memorial, Downtown, which I do for breast exams, etc. and rate them highly. I will not come back to SMH at University Parkway for a MRI. The person providing the MRI said he was at the end of his 7 hour shift. He was not dressed neatly in "uniform" of any kind, and smelled of BO. I first thought he was a maintenance person. He did not provide assistance in terms of how to negotiate the MRI bed, what to hold on to, etc. Very casual and not engaged in the process. Very unusual from positive experienced I have had with SMH downtown.

They gave me an appointment with a doctor who did a pelvic exam and ordered an US. It took me no less than five calls to the office to get the order faxed to my imaging facility of choice. Once the US was done the report from the radiologist indicated that I should have a pelvic MRI. So for over a week I was calling this office to get the order for the MRI but the doc wanted to move right to a biopsy(but my endometrium was less than 5mm thick, which is normal for post menopausal women). I said I would be happy to do the biopsy but wanted the MRI first as the next step recommended by the radiologist who read my US. I called again(no less than five times) only to be told last Friday that the doc wasn't in and they would get back to me this Monday 10/13/2020. When no one called yesterday so of course I called only to be told that my doctors nurse was no longer with the practice and someone would be in touch. I called again and when I did I was told that my providers contract wasn't renewed and her last day was last Friday! What? Why wouldn't someone tell me this last week or better yet not book me with a provider leaving the practice?! So when I requested the MRI they told me that since my provider was no longer with the practice that I would have to come back in for another visit to establish myself as a patient with another provider in the office, Dr. Swanson. They told me the doctor could not order the MRI for me unless I was seen by them. I corrected Jamie and told her that wasn't true and she corrected herself and said, "well she won't order it unless she sees you in person." I told her that it wasn't my fault that the provider I saw in their office was no longer there and that I shouldn't have to pay AGAIN to see another doctor when they have the clinical notes, and the report from my US as documentation necessary to prescribe the MRI. They told me that's how it would have to go or else I could find another provider.......guess what.....I found another provider, and YOU SHOULD TOO! POOR PATIENT CARE, POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE, REVOLVING DOOR OF DOCTORS!! They want to order testing you don't need in house to keep the money in house. If I could give zero stars I would. GO ELSEWHERE!!

I believe there is a lack of understanding as all they say is they are sorry, English has not been the primary language of anyone I have spoken to on the phone. They claim there is no supervisor available. I paid cash out of pocket as this wasn't covered by insurance. On Monday I am going to a reputable facility to cash pay for another ultrasound. Do not use Simon if you may have a serious issue.
