I have a Galaxy Notebook which I use for photos and the "Nook" portion for books when I travel. Unfortunately, when I attempted to show my Thailand travel photos to a neighbor, the tablet showed a low battery warning. I immediately began a charge which lasted overnight. It still didn't work. I knew I had problems. Panic...all those photos and dummy me...no backup. I'm thinking...bad battery. I go to Batteries Plus in Ft. Walton Beach. The lady looks up my model and tells me there's nothing listed. Then..she proceeds to ask me if I work for a living. Uh, yeah....then she begins to give me a little lecture on how we should all learn to back up our work. Duh! Unreal! I go to Best Buy in Destin with tablet in hand. The Geek Squad guy tells me I'm in deep doo-doo. My tablet's @ 5 years old and just need to suck it up and buy a new one. Ya should've backed it up, 'cause you've lost all your photos and those books you downloaded from Barnes and Noble...Maybe you could call Samsung OR buy a new one from us. So, my last resort...I do an internet search for cell phone repairs...maybe somebody could help. I find Sarge's Cellular Repair in Valparaiso near the Eglin gate. Chris greets me, looks up the necessary battery and says he'll order it, might or might not work, but the people at Sarge's will give it a try. And...if the battery doesn't work, he won't charge me for the battery but he'll keep it. Wow, I'm thinking I found a company that actually has people who know how to work with other people. (been a long time to see that business practice) I leave Sarge's feeling confident. After about 3 days (not counting the Thanksgiving Holidays), Chris calls me and says my tablet is ready for me to pick up. The battery worked and I'm back in business. I work at the Radar facility at Eglin AFB. Sarge's provided great service, and was clearly skilled and knowledgeable in their trade. Very friendly aswell. After I cracked my s5 and ruined it's LCD/LED, it was unusable. I have (had) insurance on it, but Verizon wanted 200$ for the complicated repair (plus a week or two time), which I'm sure is justified. However, I heard about Sarge's and since it was just off base I decided to check it out after work. When I walked in I was immediately greeted. I explained my situation and they quickly answered my questions and provided me with the best solution (replacing broken parts) and price. 250$ and they'd be done in 10 minutes. The cost, they added, was due to the base price of the parts. We chatted while they fixed the phone, and they insisted to add in a screen protector and a phone case I had been looking at for free. They thanked me for my service, and I thanked them for theirs. Needless to say, I highly recommend Sarges for any/all phone repair. Somewhat unrelated: They also sell local raw honey for a reasonable price. I use to live off the stuff before I joined and got stationed down here. The best experience at a cell phone repair shop EVER! I cracked the screen on my cell phone and started my search for a repair place. Being very nervous about the security of my cell information I didn't want to go to anyone that wanted to keep my phone or go in a back room for me to fix. I found Sarge's through google and since they are local and a self owned business I decided to take my phone to them. I arrived before they opened up at 9am and was met at the door by Chris, who immediately welcomed me into their store, and found out what the issue was and fixed it as I waited at the counter and was able to watch him and talked to him. He only took a few minutes to fix and still answered phone calls and arriving customers with such politeness and honesty. I would recommend Sarge's to anyone for phone repairs and if I ever have a phone repair issue again or know anyone that had a phone repair issue I would highly recommend Sarge's for a trusting, welcoming and very competitive pricing, if not less than some of the other places I found online. This establishment is as good as it can get for your cellular repair needs. I recently was having issues with my phone that took a swim in a glass of bourbon, so I brought it to Sarge's Cellular. There was only one employee working and he was pretty swamped with other repairs, but he got right into working on my phone there on the spot. He replaced a few parts, and it still wasn't functioning properly. He insisted on letting me take it home free of charge, and if the issues worked themselves out, I would then come back and pay for the services provided. A few days later, my phone started working with minor issues in functionality, so I went back to pay for the repairs. He was surprised to see me back in there, thanked me for being a man of my word, and said I didn't have to pay him. This is the type of business I will continue returning to, and refer anyone that I can. They care more about the customers and their needs, than making a profit. How great and "rare" is it when you show up to a repair shop with a problem that the shop will look at the issue, "fix" it and then not charge you for it! This is what happened to me when I dropped into Sarge's with a charging issue I was having with my I-phone. I had called ahead of time to see if this was something they could work on and spoke with a fellow named Chris. When I showed up without an appointment, Chris took my phone and just started working on it. How surprised was I when he not only fixed the issue in short order but then said to me, No Charge! Glad I could help. This is the type of business ethics that we are need to experience. My problem was an easy fix for Chris but he easily could have charged me for his time and I would have gladly paid for his time. I can't say enough good things about Mike and Chris. I have had my wife's phone fixed here twice and mine done today. Every time is fast. Less than 30 minutes and my phone was like new again. I was having trouble with my charge port, which I forgot to mention. When they handed my phone back I picked up a cable and plugged it in and it went in like new. Turns out they cleaned my charge port free of charge just because it needed done! The atmosphere says mom and pop shop and that's exactly the kind of experience that makes a place memorable. This is the BEST place to get your cellular devices repaired! I had my daughter's iPhone 6+ screen repaired and they replaced it wonderfully! Then she had a screen problem a few months later and they replaced it free of charge! The staff is great with a lot of personality and VERY knowledgeable in their craft! My girlfriend broke her iPhone8 plus the other morning, so we took a trip out to Sarges. We live out in Navarre and refuse to go to ANY other repair business to have any electronics repair work done, especially the one in a van. Honest company with very friendly employees. Took my son's phone there after her lost it out in the rain. They could have taken my money but told me it wasn't worth it and suggested I purchase a new one off the internet. I later took my Samsung S5 after it started acting up. Outstanding shop. Clean, courteous, professional. Brought in a 2GB SanDisk SD Card with a broken/missing pin on Saturday. Could not access critical files. Looked hopeless. These guys fixed my wife's phone when AT&T said it could not be fixed. I was referred to Apple or to just buy a new phone. I found Sarge's and explained what I had tried to do to fix the "Ghosting" problem on the phone. Ghosting is the screen pushing numbers on its own and locking the phone to the point of disable. I brought my phone in to get the screen replaced since it was $112 with the military discount. Since the LCD wasn't fixable, I asked them to just put the broken screen back on, but when I went to pick it up they put a new screen on without asking what I had wanted done again. They also didn't give me my military discount after I mentioned it, and it came up to $132. The customer service was terrible, and they were unprofessional over the phone. For less than a dinner out Chris changed out a couple things put in a new screen and BAM, It worked good as new. Saved me at least a $1000 on a new phone.
