Sometimes we opt for old favorites like tacos and enchiladas and other times, like last night, we try something different. I had a fish taco and chile rellano that was so good; I wasn't that hungry but I managed to eat the entire thing. Hubs chose the whole fish entree and it was huge and cooked so crisp and delicious. They brought some delicious homemade salsa to the table that hit the spot. They were super generous with how much salsa was brought in this bowl even though I was flying solo. Yes, I said salsa bowl. Not a little cup. They do not have al pastor available which is my go to. Bummed about that but was able to move on and get carne asada instead. The shredded chicken wins the award for the most flavorful and succulent chicken ever. Its moist and packed with flavor. The Chile relleno is nothing to write home about. It wasn't very good. In fact, one bite was enough for me and I left the rest there. The only beer here is Corona, Modelo and Pacifico. Ewww....... That's was a bummer since I'm from craft beer land of Sonoma County. I only tried this place because I was running low on time for my lunch break and unfortunately I was slightly disappointed. The beans were good & a good serving but my cheese nachos were a different story. I'd say they were more disappointing than gas station nachos & I payed 11.50 for them. I did eat some because I was hungry but I took a pic for Yelp when I finished. Saritas is by far my favorite Mexican restaurant So many fabulous choices on the menu it is hard to decide . I always go for the shredded beef enchiladas along with cheese enchilada. I always ask for a bowl of green salsa to go with the hot chips they set on your table. It is really great stuff. The flan for dessert is really drlicious. The food, service and cleanliness of this Sarita's location is poor at best. I lived in Marina for 10-years and went to that location 2-3 times a month and so I expected more when I went to the Seaside location. The nearly empty restaurant at dinner-time should have been my first clue but I ignored my instincts and ordered dinner anyway. There was only one other table with customers but it took a long time for our food to come out and not once during that 30-minutes we waited did the waitress come and check on us or let us know it would take so long. She also never bothered to ask if we wanted chip or drink refills. When we finally got our food, the chimichanga we ordered was dark brown. Judging by the taste, it was both over cooked and cooked in old oil. My order was wrong and the waitress noticed it after I already started eating (she got orders mixed up between the only two tables with customers in the restaurant). I really didn't want to wait another 30-minutes so I ate what they delivered. It was a bland mess and even though I was starving, I regretted eating any of it. read more

We ordered a side of rice and beans with corn tortillas, automatically assembling breakfast tacos like the Texans we are. The salsa was terrific with a subtle chipotle kick. The nopales was wonderful and cooked perfectly. In the kitchen, I saw the big cast iron pans, so prepare for some moderately oily food. My one disappointment in my meal was the corn tortillas. No unfortunately no I got sick the last time I ordered their huevos rancheros I realized too late the eggs weren't cooked thoroughly even though I asked for sunny side up the egg white shouldn't be clear. I didn't notice because the eggs were completely covered in the salsa. After eating one chip I noticed they are definitely not fresh either, the oil easily sat on the bag provided. Great service with a smile. My chicken soup was fantastic and the portions were HUGE. The sausage part of the broth was insanely yummy though I wasn't the keenest on them leaving the bones on the meat. They happily split the check for us and I left with a full belly and a smile. Yum! read more
