I miss Sarku Japan, RIP, why did this one have to get closed. It's the best chicken stir fry at least for the mentor area so far.

Very unprofessional they messed up a simple order chicken teriyaki with white rice only . I checked.my order once I got home and it was fried rice with peas and carrots. I called back to the restaurant to ask about my order being done over and the guy just hung up on me. I tried calling back and now they are not answering the phone. 11/26/18 *ORDERED: Chicken Teriyaki ($6.69) +Fried Rice (50¢) +Extra Sauce +Double Meat ($1.69) -No Vegetables *VERDICT: Yes :P *RECOMMENDATIONS: Chicken Teriyaki. Get extra sauce so if you save some for later, the rice doesn't soak it all up. If you want, ask for a scoop or two on the rice before the meat goes on. But then ask for extra on the top, and tell them to cover the edges because they usually tend to just pour it in the middle. ----------------------------------- THE FOOD ITSELF: I don't eat here often anymore, mainly because I rarely go to the mall. But I don't recall ever having one bad meal here. The sauce is SO ohmigod good to me, a perfect teriyaki in my opinion. I have never tried anything else here because if I did I'd miss the chicken teriyaki too much, I'm always so full I never have any room for an egg roll or anything else, and I am not a sushi fan. I have tried the shrimp, but would not order it for myself. Not bad, but not great. The chicken has never been dry or fatty. I might be alone in this, but whenever I see chicken like this, the amount of fat is always a concern of mine. I mean, there might be a bite or two, but it's not something you need to look out for. I don't get vegetables only because whenever I did, being vegetables, they kind of watered everything down. I would prefer to be able to pick specific vegetables, but honestly when you come here it isn't for the vegetables. Vegetables come with the meal, so if you don't want any you need to specifically say, "no vegetables." Carrots & peas come in the fried rice, white rice comes plain. ----------------------------------- ASIDE FROM THE FOOD... *The restaurant is located in the food court at the Great Lakes Mall, and it's right on the end so you don't have to venture deep into the mall. Translation: you don't gotta walk far! haha *You get to watch them cook your food right in front of you, made to order. *I truly don't know the actual reason for this, and I mean no disrespect to the employees or the restaurant itself, but more often than not I seem to have a hard time communicating with the employees here. Great looking store... Good food serve by great people with good customer service. I love the newly renovated mall, so clean and bright. I was looking for place to eat and found this guy sampling outside as you walk in to the food court, taste it and the rest is history. Order fried rice ( mountains), with mix cabbages ( they call is mix veggies) and order chicken teriyaki with the double meat. Good food and i know whats and who prep my food Will return when i visit the mall. read more

The food is always amazing, the workers there are super nice, and the smells of the food are amazing. I personally always get the Chicken Teriyaki with Shrimp, and I always love it. They have some of the best food there. Highly recommended! read more

I ate here last about two years ago, and since my diet change I was able to eat out here again yesterday. My sister and I asked for two chicken teriyaki meals with no vegetables. She got a Snapple and it tasted terrible for starters, and she had to throw it out. It was a glass bottle and they've been producing plastic bottles for a while now.. so it may of been on the older side. That may of been a fluke thing and that isn't necessarily the restaurant's fault. We were waiting for our meals, one was out with plain white rice like we asked, then the second one came out and the man making our food threw a huge spoon of veggies on the rice, then the man working next to him corrected him and told him it was ordered as no vegetables. The man scraped out the vegetables that were already placed in our rice. Not only putting rice back on the grill mixed in with the veggies, but there were VISIBLE vegetables still in our meal!! He placed RICE OVER TOP OF IT TO COVER IT. I was disgusted but my sister didn't care about the veggies. It wasn't the fact that it was vegetables, it was the fact we just paid $20 for a veggie free meal and he covered it up. What else are they putting in the meals and covering it with a little extra rice??? I asked for extra chicken and they place a little tag on the toothpick that says you paid for extra chicken. I didn't want my extra chicken in with the vegetables, so I tried moving the toothpick and the tag fell off. One of the men working saw it and said "That's why you don't touch the toothpick" he said it as a joke I think, but you do not treat paying customers like that EVER. My sister had to pick out the veggies as she was trying to eat her meal. Just watch your food being made and be careful!!!! I regret not saying something. What if someone were to be allergic to vegetables? Just a terrible thing to see before you consume their food. Makes you wonder what else they cover up. Gross. So disappointed. read more

I used to like this place for mall food, but they changed up the ingredients that they use. I always liked the beef teriyaki and they used to use a ribeye or something but now they use these thin round processed meat "things" that have the consistency of shoe leather. Sorry, but I won't be back until the menu is changed. Egg roll was like eating a cardboard paper towel roll. Most likely came out of a box and zapped In a microwave and the kept warm under heat lamps for 8 hours. Come on guys, you used to be halfway decent. read more

I was very excited to have a sushi restaurant close to my house. I was disappointed in this restaurant. The sushi was served at room temperature and the calamari appetizer was small and bland. Atmosphere is nice but service is slow. read more

Sushi is unremarkable, yet better than average. My wife fell in love with cucumber/seaweed salad that she has been trying to replicate. Lots of good stuff to eat. Location in mall, not so good. Would go back more frequently if it were a stand-alone. read more

Purchased two chicken teriyaki dinners with extra meat and was very disappointed with the quality of food. Chicken was fatty and my husband and I both found slivers of bones in it, not one piece but three . I have tried for six days to get a hold of management and have even sent two emails to company with no response. read more

An ok place to get a quick meal if you are really hungry and in a hurry. Beats out all of the other food court fast food by far. The chicken teriyaki with rice is great, but everything else is kind of gross, out of a cardboard box type food. Simply put, only go there if you are in the mood for a large, inexpensive portion of really good chicken teriyaki. read more

Being a mall employee, I eat here far too much and they've got my usual order down by heart. The food is prepared in front of you, it's reasonably healthy, and the quality is pretty reliable. The Chicken Teriyaki is the most food for your money in the Great Lakes Mall food court, and it tastes great! Use the sriracha! read more
